20% Cooler Than Cake

I'm slightly dissapointed with this EG movie. It was still better than the first, but it could have been much more. Unlike the previous two installments, the Mane 7 (without Twilight) aren't actively trying to stop a villain or save Equestria. Only Sunset Shimmer has the responsibility of understanding and stopping magic at the Friendship Games, and it wasn't until the end of the movie that their world and Equestria were put in danger. Before, the ponies had a strong motive to win something: at first Princess of the Fall Formal to get the element of harmony back, then a band competition to stop the Dazzlings. This time, there was no purpose behind competing in the Games besides just trying to win. Also, I believe that while still good, the music here wasn't as great as usual.

I've been thinking lately: if ponies from Equestria are humans in the human world, dragons are dogs, and birds and bunnies ... stay birds and bunnies, then what about other Equestrian creatures? For example, what are Steven Magnet, the bugbear, and the manticore in the human world? Excited to hear your opinions!

Perhaps the human world doesn't have the show yet, but eventually Sunset will learn of all of Twilight's adventures, then document them in a TV series that, due to a misunderstanding, is thought to be fiction.

It also seems like the human world is slightly behind Equestria. For example, Twilight in the human world moved to study friendship long after the pony Twilight did. So, perhaps this means that Sunset has already stopped being Celestia's student, is now secretly living in a small Equestrian town, and is planning to go to the human world to steal some sort of weapon that would make her more powerful so she could take over Equestria easily, then use the ponies there to conquer the human world. It's possible.

I hope that the fourth Equestria Girls is more adventure-based than the previous ones. I would also like to see the individual people in the Mane 7 have to face challenges that are difficult to overcome, while having human Twilight develop like she did at the start of the series. And of course, hopefully Ingram can come up with some good songs as well.

Well, I decided to do a bit of research and found that of all of the ponies in MLP:FiM that were not background characters or antagonists, 38% were male. However, of the antagonists of the show, 63% were male. Background ponies are also mostly female, but I agree that the ratio has been evening out recently.

Outside of the Mane 6, Celestia or Luna would defenitly be shocking and plot-changing. Within the Mane 6, I think that Twilight would cause the most uproar, because not only is she the main character of the entire series, but if she were to start dating anypony, it would be Flash Sentry, who is one of the worst characters in MLP history. Also, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie might cause a significant uproar, depending on who they are paired with. Of course if Rarity, Rainbow Dash, or Applejack were to get a boyfriend, it would also be a shock, but I think that eventually the fans would get used to it. Hopefully, though, nopony gets a boyfriend anytime soon.

I think that I agree with the majority opinion, that Queen Chrysalis is more evil than Discord. However, as all of the arguments supporting Chrysalis have already been stated, I want to bring up a few points defending the claim that Discord is the worst of the two villains (before he was reformed). First of all, Queen Chrysalis only impersonated and controlled ponies so that her fellow changelings could live. Anypony would be willing to do anything for their family when in Chrysalis' situation. Discord, on the other hand, had no motives behind his actions except for his desire to be entertained, and was willing to do whatever he wanted with the ponies of Equestria, without any care as to what they were feeling. Also, note that when Queen Chrysalis attempted to gain control of Equestria, she simply impersonated Cadance and then caused Twilight's friends to distrust her. However, when Discord escaped and took control of Equestria, he purposefully not only controlled the Mane 6, but made them be the exact opposite of who they were, ultimately making none of them ever want to see each other again. Also, remember that even after Discord is reformed by Fluttershy, he continues to toy with other ponies' emotions without giving much thought.

Overall, I was very pleased with this season finale. The concept was great, and it really opens up many possibilities for ways that Starlight Glimmer can become involved in Season 6. Also, how Starlight Glimmer's intervention in the race caused all of the different future versions of Equestria isn't exactly stated, leaving room for fan fictions. The only things that bothers me is the rushed backstory and renewal of Starlight. Also, why would Starlight wait for Twilight to see her, then travel back in time while leaving the scroll behind? And why does it seem to be a huge shock that without the Mane 6, Equestrian wouldn't be anything like it is today? Twilight and her friends have saved Equestria multiple times, so I would think that they would know their importance. Still, a great season finale with a touching ending.
