  1. Cadance episode next season? Please? I'm not too proud to beg.

I want the Celestia episode more...But a Cadance one is a good alternative.

  2. I don't get what you lot are on about. Season 6 was kinda great.

  3. "To Where and Back Again" was a total blast. Understands that this show's successes are because of its characters before everything else, and so makes everyone absolutely delightful to watch. Awful that Haber isn't coming back; he's one of the best writers this show has ever had.

Two bad things about this finale is the lack of songs and questionable set up (how villaim capture everyone xD), beside that, I prefer this finale over Twilight Kingdom.

    2. Thrond

I don't like this one as much as "Twilight's Kingdom," but only because I like very few things in this show as much as "Twilight's Kingdom."

  4. If S7 is better than S6 like some people suggest it might be, it could be the best season yet. Season 6 was solid.

  5. The fact that "Gauntlet of Fire" and "Viva Las Pegasus" are among the fan favourites this season baffles me. Not that I don't like those episodes, but they're not particularly fresh.

  6. "The Hooffields & the McColts" is totally underrated.

At least, it's better than Avatar's "The Great Divide" XD. Not bad, I am not familiar with the real history incident so this story is kinda "new" to me, but still... something off with Twilight, Twilight is a bit... flanderization, i guess :D

She comes across to me like being a princes has gone to her head and she's convinced she's supposed to be a perfect problem solver. It's hilarious.

  7. Joshscorcher's video on "Newbie Dash" was pretty cathartic after so many people called it one of the show's worst episodes. It's really not that bad!

Joshscorcher is just some minority who defend this episode, good job, Josh, but people still hate it :D.

Well, Lambdadelta, as someone else who defends this episode, I'm just glad to not feel alone in sort of liking it.

  8. I'm not sure I can imagine a map episode better than "Top Bolt." Legit potential all-time great.

I would reverse "Hoffields & McColts" and "Griffonstone" there but otherwise I agree.

Do you think Sky is just too good in such a short amount of time? 30% skill and 70% confidence is real, I guess... By a way, Twilight face is getting wierder and wierder...

    4. Thrond

      Thrond

The weird faces here didn't bother me much. I have a lot of patience for stuff happening too quickly in this show as long as it's emotionally satisfying, so Sky improving quickly didn't bother me at all either. Besides, he had Vapour to help him.

  9. The more I think about "Every Little Thing She Does," the more I realise that I find it really kinda disturbing in a way it probably didn't intend.

S' a good point. I'd say that the whole "So long as you understand you made a mistake and apologize, you're ok" philosophy of the show has led to a fair number of complaints in the past. Don't agree with all of them, and I understand why the show does what it does, but I think it does limit the show in scope somewhat.

Was fine with it the first time, but because this is the second time, I just do not believe that Starlight has actually learned from her mistake. Guilt doesn't seem to do a whole lot to prevent her from doing wildly inappropriate things like that.

Suppose time will tell. I will say that since "Don't brainwash people" is kinda a weird moral, I don't know if I'd expect the writers to revisit it again.

Then again, I didn't expect them to revisit it this time :P

  10. "Where the Apple Lies" is probably about as close as any episode this season has come to being unbearable for me. Still has redeeming values, though.

  11. This week's episode was irritatingly predictable but had its moments, but I hated that ending so, so, so much.

  12. C'mon, Equestria Girls. You have so much untapped potential. It's too early to run out of ideas.

    1. Thrond

      Thrond

I was not at all a fan of "Legend of Everfree."

  13. Increasingly thinking that the main issue with "Every Little Thing She Does" really is that it doesn't confront her difficulty with considering the consequences of her actions. There's no explicit guarantee that this won't happen again.

  14. I have a looooot of complicated feelings about "Every Little Thing She Does." Can't decide whether I find its approach to Starlight's characterisation satisfying, but it sure is interesting. Wish it were a lot more fun, though.

  15. "Viva Las Pegasus" is yet another safe-but-fun episode. I'll take it.

  16. I've found myself having a lot of weird technical issues when replying to threads, especially when doing anything to correct my posts before publishing. Cursor just jumps to random places; it doesn't do that anywhere else.

  17. I know "Newbie Dash" could have been a lot better, but I don't know how to fix it without completely removing all the bits which I liked about it. I feel like this apparent military organisation might not be all that interested in how she was bullied as a child, and I can't think of any other particularly appropriate way to address that.

  18. People here seem to have a lot nice to say about season 5. I do not. Now THAT was a disappointing season for me.

Must not make you happy that I don't like it a whole lot, then.

      Miss

Nah, people have their own tastes. People get upset that season 2 is my least fav season. Still incredible just my least fav

  19. I love love loved "The Fault in Our Cutie Marks." Loved it. Loved it so goddamn much.

      Chuckles4lyfe

I loved it as well man. Looking forward to the blog post later :)

  20. I feel like people projecting the Wonderbolts' callsigns as bullying is really misguided. Military nicknames aren't at all the same as whatever you went through in high school.

    1. Spartan

      Spartan

Bullying and Military nicknames are totally different. Bullying is just being mean, while in the military, they arent, since everyone is relying on each other

  21. The synopsis for the S6 finale literally has the phrase "greatest threat" in it. I guess I was mistaken to hope that this show would actually do something new for its finales.

  22. Oh, I see. The debate pit seems to be a right-wing hellhole.

  23. Oh boy, a forum topic bitching about "SJWs." Gross.

  24. I don't like the idea of MLP becoming more of an action/adventure show, but I think that if it took a hard swerve into comedy - essentially, became a sitcom every now and then - it'd benefit the show a lot.

    1. Thrond

      Thrond

I mean, everyone loves "The Saddle Row Review," including myself, and that's the closest to an outright sitcom the show's ever gotten. I at least primarily watch the show for its characters, and a sitcom style would really bring out the best from their interactions and personality quirks.

    2. theonenamedDJ

      theonenamedDJ

I agree, but I also like for it to have a good focus on character depth and growth and dealing with personal problems in addition to being light-hearted and funny (while still being for kids). Like a comedy with some drama.

    3. Thrond

      Thrond

It doesn't even need to transition entirely into a sitcom style! Just every now and then.

  25. So apparently I'm the one person who actually really, really likes Josh Haber's work on this show. Clueless about why people have such animosity towards him; I eagerly anticipate each of his episodes.

I (mostly) like him fine as a writer, but his work as the story editor leaves a lot to be desired

      Cleverclover

He's a crappy replacement for McCarthy.

    4. Thrond

      Thrond

I feel like I'm in the minority in this, but I think the story direction in season 6 is a hell of a lot better than in season 5. I mean, it still leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not sure what can really be done with this show's restrictions.
