I decided to give it a legit try. I bought few extra things (pipes etc.) to install it way better than I did for the first time and now it performs better. While the noise it generates is inconvenient (well that's the magic of air conditioners I suppose), it works great. It keeps the temperature nicely warm, got rid of humidity and from what I can tell, it consumes way less (I'd say it's about 50%; I plan to buy a measuring device to calculate it accurately sometime soon) energy than an oil heater, so the noise is worth that. 

In the end I decided to keep it.  I just hope the device will stay with me for at least 4 years. It saves some energy, but its price was way higher, so it requires some time to result in a more beneficial outcome. It's like an investment.

For now everything is fine and I hope it stays that way.
