  1. Trying making something is good! Going to have a go at eggs benedict later, but should really have a poacher.
  2. Andrew James Retro Bread Bin in Powder Blue, powder coated iron. (Please note loaf not supplied. )
  3. Toast & coffee. Line of unrelated context demarcation. Sports commentary, late 1970's, regarding that day's Milk Race stage: "Well, the name on everyone lips this evening is Zbigniew Szczepkowski" -
  4. Boston, Lincolnshire England - hovering around freezing, days old frost still preserved in shadows, frozen puddles, saw some ice on the canals today (aka "drains"). Lots of sunshine. No snow. According to the forecast supposed to be p!ssing down tomorrow.
  5. Eggs Benedict for breakfast, with bacon & cherry tomatoes. (^ not actually it, library pic from Wikipedia)
  6. Stick-on battery powered motion sensor LED lights, only turns on in the dark, auto motion sensor and auto off after 20 seconds. I'm using them as trunk lights for my car and sidecar, can also be used for cupboards wardrobes etc. -
  7. Riding through Texas snow on a Ural -
  8. I made roast potatoes! Yeah I mean NOT out of a packet. Go no try it it's easy. Peel cut up into a saucepan cover with water, bring to boil simmer for 5 mins, meanwhile put a few mm of cooking oil into a baking dish, put it into oven 200*C -ish, (yes do it now), when 5 mins is up drain the pots, put into baking dish (oil should be getting hot by now), leave for 50 minutes or until brown enough. (Says Aleksandr the meerkat)
  9. Leftovers to use up - a Cornish pasty, last of some coleslaw and again of garlic bread, served with pickled beetroot, and mashed potato with some horseradish sauce mixed in, and piccalilli pickle. A taste explosion -

  12. Silly question time - what are you doing that needs a mask?
  13. Just started Discworld #14, "Lords And Ladies". Also a couple of old SF paperbacks. Also just started using Kindle, I bought 4 old SF stories as 'reprints' altho as Kindle books, not paper! Hence the need to get into Kindle. Google for Hannibal Fortune agent of TERRA" bonkers but good fun. -
  14. Vango Ark 200+. Supposed to be real easy to put up and take down - I've got two bigger ones in same style but such a PITA to erect and repack simply due to size. A bit too big and heavy to carry around too. This is a 2 person tent (what the '200' means. The '+' means extended porch area). Intended as a new improved replacement for my Beta 250 which is getting a 'bit tired'. E.g. this has got flaps around the bottom of the flysheet that the groundsheet overlaps to keep the wind out. We like that idea don't we? -
  15. Potato and cabbage stew. - Yeah sounds really naff doesn't it? But no is really good. Peel and cut some potatoes for boiling. Simmer for 15 minutes (add salt to water as required). Then add chopped cabbage (I used "tenderheart") and some of sliced carrot, also add some kind of proprietary seasoning - I used Knorr "vegetable stock pot" (Google it). Simmer a further 10 minutes or until done. Dash of black pepper and ate it with French bread. (What started this, I watched [again] a 1964 film "The Train" [stars Burt Lancaster & Philip Schofield] in which potato and cabbage soup* is mentioned and I thought, "yeah..." *Lancaster's character Labiche is eating it [with bread] in the hotel kitchen ) -
