I've been noticing more and more that my cat drools whenever I pet her, so i got a little concerned and looked it up. Apparently it's just something some cats do when you pet them. She's literally drooling from happiness.

I found a new route to the post office. Now I can make a round trip on my bicycle in an hour and a half without feeling like I'm about to die by the end of it. God, I hate hills.
I can't wait to get a motorcycle. The sooner this corona virus garbage blows over and I can take the safety course, the better.

Hope you're doing okay. I know you haven't been having a great time lately, so here's a reminder that your friends are always there for you. We want to see you succeed and feel better, and we'll do anything we can to help you along.

My cat just fucking opened my bedroom door. What?

I finally found a sleep aid that can reliably put me to sleep, and it's literally just 12mg of straight melatonin. It also has a strong aftertaste, but whatever. At least I don't lie in bed awake for hours anymore.

So I found out today that one of my half-sisters is a furry too, and after talking for a while, we actually have a lot in common. I can't say I expected anything like that to happen today.
-
I bought a box of random faux fur offcuts for $25 (normally fur costs that much or more for a single yard). That's a lot of fluff.
I'm really happy that I got black. People stocked up on fur because of the pandemic, and it's pretty hard to find black and white right now. I love that mint color, too.

And that's how you know your speakers aren't getting enough power.

So I got a bunch of audio electronics in today for a project I'm working on. I spent a few hours soldering everything together, ran some tests using a couple USB ports as power, everything worked great (minus a faint hum coming from the speakers, but it isn't super noticeable at high volumes, which is where they're likely to stay for my application), I hooked everything up to the battery, and... nothing. Apparently the board I bought is only capable of supplying 1A on its single output while I need 2A, but being me, I didn't check beforehand. Whoops.
Oh well. I already have a board with a 2A output lying around, it's just a lot larger than I'd like. I guess I have to use that one.

I seem to have a penchant for making white or very very very light gray characters (If you look closely, you can see that Booker is actually off-white). Even if it's not the main color (which it usually is), it's a prominent color in basically every character I've made that wasn't a background character in one of my stories or something, barring Zephyr and Sunfire. Case in point: Orion (whose design I'm actually rather proud of, and I'm definitely not making this post just so I can show him off I just colored a base, I didn't draw anything. I'm not an artist).
If you look closely, you can see the constellation Orion on the small of his back, hence his name. He's part of a species I'm making where dead creatures sometimes turn into celestial beings, to heavily abbreviate the lore. He's only partially transformed at the time of this ref sheet, hence still being about a quarter white.

Yeah, but just the head for now. Maybe paws and a tail too, but I don't think I'll have enough fur. I designed him using colors of scraps that I'll have once my commissions are done. I am not looking forward to sewing in all of those tiny stars, especially when I eventually make a full suit of him. That probably won't be for another couple years at least, though.
I'm also planning on throwing a microphone and speakers into the head since I talk so quietly. I've already done tests with electronics outside of a head, now I just have to wait for more supplies to get here so I can try putting everything together inside of one. If it works, it's gonna be really cool. I'm also gonna try to put a Bluetooth module in it so the head can double as a wireless speaker.

Well that was sudden. I go over a month without selling anything, and within half a day I now have a package needing to be shipped out and two sets of hand paws to make (I also dumped over $100 into materials. My room is going to be overflowing with faux fur and minky next week). I'm not complaining, I just think it's weird that three people decided to buy stuff from me on the same day. Did people get their paychecks or tax returns today or something?
Anyway, time to handle my first ever commissions. I'm excited

Dropping a sewing needle on carpet is like playing "Where's Waldo," except Waldo has a knife and you're gonna get shanked if you don't find him.

It can be relaxing if it's done right. I don't mind a lot of tedious things, and the end result is always rewarding. Thinking of each seam as one piece instead of hundreds of individual stitches helps with the tedium, too.
Yeah, it's not for everyone. I don't like it as much as something like videogames, but it's still enjoyable for me.

Ponyfest schedule is live, and it starts at 10 am. I wonder if it's better to set my alarm and hope it wakes me up, or stay up all of tomorrow night. Waking up early also poses the challenge of falling asleep early. Maybe I should stay up all night tonight instead. I think that might be the plan since I ran out of melatonin last week, and without it I'll just lie in bed for four or five hours if I try and sleep earlier than usual.
Also, Ponyfest got me thinking. I'm pretty sure the cosplay aspect is what I like most about cons. Sure, some panels are fun, and walking through the marketplace is really cool (that's probably my second favorite thing about cons), but nothing beats walking around in an elaborate costume and seeing everyone's reactions. Thinking about that made me really want to work on the NieR cosplay I had planned. I'll do it someday.

I completely forgot about this scene I forgot about pretty much the whole episode, actually. Season 1 is a lot better than I remembered.

Apparently there's an online pony con this Saturday or something? Anyway, here's the link. https://ponyfest.horse/

Huh. With the way my stomach is, it's getting to the point where I can't eat even a few pieces of bacon without feeling sick. I guess I'll have to get a new favorite food, then.

My motorcycle safety course was cancelled, which kind of sucks, but at least I was able to reschedule it without any issue. Now I have to wait another month because people couldn't contain a virus

According to Turbo Tax, the average 19 year old in VA using their website is 124k in debt. How the hell is the average that high? College is not that expensive, unless the average person goes to an Ivy League university or some shit, which I know is not the case. After the one year of college I took I only have 6k to pay in student loans, and that's after the dorm costs, food costs, etc. If I hadn't gotten my scholarship or grants, that would still only be less than 20k. People are just ridiculously bad at managing money, I guess. I'm not good at it either, but I'm certainly not in a pit that deep.
Go to an in-state university, or look at out-of-state community colleges if you absolutely have to leave home. Better yet, go to a local community college and chances are you'll have less than 5k in loans after two years, possibly even $0 if you get good enough scholarships.
Sorry for the rant. I just get annoyed when people with terrible spending habits complain that the economy is broken or living expenses are unrealistically high or whatever. True, things aren't perfect, but they're not horrible either if you use common sense.
I could say something political here about a few people running for president who really should just go to a retirement home already, but I hate arguing, so I'll just leave it there.

When I was taking AVID in school, just about everyone from public speakers to current college students drilled it in everyone's heads how important it is to take tons of loans, how community colleges are bad and you must always go to expensive high-end universities. Really it's just a bunch of brainwashing lies
