  1. The next console generation is a heated debate that I am very passionate about. Oddly enough the debate is different for this generation than most of the previous ones.

It isn't too much about the games, certainly exclusives do play a role, but not as much in our current market when most franchises have gone multiplatform anyway. It isn't too much about processing power or graphics because with the big 2 they are almost equivalent.

No this generation's debate is extra heated and requires more passion from me because its about moral standards. The fear of this DRM take over of the mostly physical console market has been something feared for a few years now. I actually didn't believe that any company could be too stupid to actually go through with it, but unfortunately I was wrong.

For my console decision I could only pick a console I felt I could morally support. I couldn't take part in a new generation if it sickened me. Nintendo seems pretty friendly and I will buy a Wii U eventually... but E3 was the deciding point of if I was going to buy either the PS4 and the Xbox One.

Well, its certainly not the Xbox One because they seem to be blatantly anti-consumer which is something I will not support with my money. Its sad because I rather liked my Xbox 360, but I pawned it off as soon as Microsoft started to turn for the worst this year. I will sadly have to miss out on a few exciting games like Crimson Dragon, Titanfall, and the ever anticipated Killer Instinct 3.

Now for the PS4... Sony did exactly what I felt they needed to do to win my support. Send a clear message saying they are not going to follow Microsoft in this anti-consumer DRM nightmare. If they did not say that on stage I wouldn't have a PS4 on Amazon pre-order as we speak. The only issue I have with them is that there aren't that exciting of exclusive titles. I'm not a big fan of Killzone or Infamous... Knack looks like something more my speed, there is the elusive Last Guardian that didn't make it to E3 again. Most things I am more exited for that showed up to Sony's conference I could technically get elsewhere like Destiny, Final Fantasy XV, and Kingdom Hearts 3.

  2. I think I mention that Brazen is very similar to Monster Hunter... in fact my description of Brazen is most verbatim of how Brad Muir describes it.

I think I can see why Brazen didn't sit well with publishers. It is pretty much a Monster Hunter clone without the brand recognition and on top of that has an odd animation style that probably wouldn't sit well with a young audience that have never seen the Ray Harryhausen films.

  3. @@Flareon, Also I'll eventually get a Wii U. That is a given at this point. I want to say I'll get one either this summer or winter or something, but I really can't predict my financial status at that point.

Though other things like a new computer graphics card, games for my 3DS, PS2, and PC libraries, and a car have my priorities at the moment. Nintendo will have to wait I suppose.

...That is unless the PS4 shows me something to the point where I have to have it as soon as possible AND they prove that they actually care for the consumer.

  4.

The 1% is the fact that I will be getting one, simply because I love Halo too much to let it go..

That was pretty much my deciding factor in loving the Xbox 360. I remember a few times where my older brother offered to help me trade my 360 in to pick up a PS3 so I could play with him online. I said no mostly because I wanted to play Halo and Gears of War with my friends.

Though sadly those two franchises just don't have the same power they used to have. I think it was when Halo: Reach came out I found myself generally dissatisfied with Halo in general. Halo 4 released and I thought overall the multiplayer was greatly improved. But the removal of Firefight was a disappointment and their episodic content was a major upset in my opinion. The campaign was what made me want to drop the franchise altogether though. I still say Halo 4 was pretty good, but none the less it killed my interest.

Gears of War... ehh... Gears 3 was just trash in my opinion. I haven't played Judgement, but I hear its awful.

But yeah, I have a friend who's a die hard Halo fan. He says he doesn't care what dumb things get put on the Xbox he'll get it because Halo. I just think about games and consoles differently I suppose. lol

  5. Woohoo! 16!

I remember my 16th birthday. Like most birthdays I didn't do much at all. I probably just went to school like any other day. Though I do remember my 16th was when I got my laptop, which I'm still using to this day!

Funny, when I turned 16 I was really excited about driving, but I have still to get my licence (and I won't comment on the other thing you can do at 16 ;) ).

I remember I couldn't wait for my 18th. But geeze was I wrong. Being 18 now is scary for me with no plans for the future. Soon I'll be done with school and just tossed into the "real world", but I don't think I'm quite ready for that. Maybe your 18th will be more pleasant.

But sounded like you had a great birthday. I wish people would make a bigger deal of my birthdays, I usually get "here's your cake and here's some cash, that's it!" Then again maybe I should be careful what I wish for since I'm not quite the one for big social get togethers. haha

Anyway here's to more birthdays to come! Happy birthday Flut!

  6. I got a copy of Devil Survivor Overclocked when the good reviews came out because I found a copy and know from past experience that Atlus titles tend to have unfortunately short production runs. I've been meaning to play it, but I'm so busy with my online work that I haven't even taken the shrink wrap off yet.

Yeah that's my main concern with hunting down a lot of these ATLUS games that I want to play is that they don't stay in production long. I'm already about to set up my pre-order for Soul Hackers just so I am guaranteed to get this one new. (And apparently comes with a soundtrack which is a nice added bonus I always like to see)

But yeah the SMT series has captured my attention for the past few months so I guess I'm planning on making myself a bit of a collection of them which is a bit of a herculean task since there are so many of them over a lot of platforms.

Might as well start with the 3DS titles now. Which reminds me that i have yet to finish Persona 4 because I've been so busy lately as well! haha

  7. Fire Emblem should be number 1, I guess I understand why not though. :P And no Resident Evil? Haven't really thought of trying the SMT games, but I'm slightly interested since there will be a Wii U game that crosses it over with Fire Emblem. :o

I thought about placing Resident Evil at No. 13, but I'm just not a huge Resident Evil fan in general so I myself cannot seem to get hyped for it.

Fire Emblem just isn't MY personal taste in RPGs, but I'm sure I'll find it great regardless. 8 seems like a low place for it, but I wouldn't really move the titles below it up so no. 8 it is!

And well... good luck with getting into SMT... no seriously its a CRAZY series to get into, like finding a place to start is near impossible.

Though I'd recommend checking out Persona 3 and 4 if you have a PS2. I hear that Devil Survivor and Soul Hackers are really good and are on 3DS.

Though if you purely want to get into SMT just for SMTxFE hype then you'd be best off just checking out the main series since that's all that's confirmed for that game. SMT3 can be found on PS2, SMT: Strange Journey (isn't confirmed for the crossover yet, but considered part of the core series) is on DS, and SMT4 is coming to 3DS.

But yeah, need less to say I'm pretty well hyped for Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem!

  8. @, Fire Emblem: Awakening will probably be my first purchase. I'm not too into the Fire Emblem series, but I love good RPGs so maybe I just need to give the series a second chance. Plus I've heard nothing but good things about the newest installment!

I hear Resident Evil: Revelations is *gasp* a surprisingly good Resident Evil game. I haven't been impressed with 5 and 6 just depresses me, but I've heard Resident Evil: Revelations is pretty good!

I've never played Tales of the Abyss... weird that you say you don't like it. I really liked Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube and a lot of people say its more of the silver medal of the Tales series, with Abyss being the top tier. Then again a lot of people say FF7 is the best RPG ever which I disagree so I'm not usually on par with popular opinion!

  9. JAPAN WHY? lol

I have a friend who just bought the Fire Emblem Limited Edition 3DS. That one is also pretty sweet, but it has NOTHING on that Charizard!

*Sigh* Maybe they'll have something cool for Pokemon X and Y. I wouldn't mind upgrading to an XL if that limited edition for that game was as good looking as that Charizard one! haha

But yeah I have a pretty big list of Want Its and Need Its or a "Hype List" as I've come accustomed to call it! :D I feel like I got one at the right time though. I had the cash and this year is a great year for the 3DS despite the competition looming later this year!

I'll probably buy up a few titles here soon. I'm mainly focused on RPGs but some great additions like Mario Kart 7 (which I hear is probably the best of the series) and the upcoming Luigi's Mansion!

  10. I kinda feel the same way.

Not that I don't like the show anymore, or the show has gotten worse, but I've just had a different attitude towards the show and fandom in general.

When new episodes come up I watch them when I get the time, but its not something I get real excited about on my weekends anymore. And for the Brony fandom, I've been kinda drifting away from it. I still pay attention to a few things, but I don't get all hot and bothered about things going on in the fandom.

  11. Maybe I'm not a huge fan of anime like some people, but are most English dubs as horrible as most people claim?

The only problem I really have with dubs is when they change things to make it more appropriate for English audiences. I just never liked that practice.

I watch most of my anime with dubs if available, not that I hate using subtitles or hearing other languages, but normally if I want to watch a tv show I want to focus more on the audio and visuals of the show, and since Japanese sounds like gibberish to me, it makes for not that great of an audio experience.

  12. I don't really know much I can say to make this easier. Having someone to help you, and talk to I believe would help. Someone to vent problems to, and maybe even offer advice. To keep you looking forward, and to keep you from being un-happy.

Actually I do have a few friends I do talk to on occasion about these things. Some are even fellow forum members.

I have one special friend in particular who I deem as my best friend, though sometimes she can complicate problems because I'm madly in love with her (but she's taken, hence the heartbreak part). But recently I've been able to talk with her with full honesty, even told her I was bi which is something I haven't told ANYONE outside of the Internet.

Though even these friends might not be a total solution to my problems. I've been thinking about seeing a doctor about my depression issues. I've heard that professional help is very important for people dealing with problems like I have, though I do have to admit that I'm terrified of professional help for some odd reason.

  13. Stachioed is my gt for those who haven't added me yet.

Though the only multiplayer games I own are Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Bioshock 2 (which I'm probably the only one here who likes that multiplayer), and I guess I just bought Persona 4 Arena, but that really wouldn't work for a game night with so many people! lol

I'm not too big on multiplayer these days, but hey if there's some big game night I guess I'd play.
