  1. If you're old AF like me, this is cool, I dig it, cause I even say that anymore:
  2. I'm glad. It's good to hear that you've been able to tend your garden. It takes time, and effort but it's a nice feeling to know that it's worth it. We all have our trees of Harmony, don't we? The trick I think is to get as many of them resonating with each other as possible. It's also a nice feeling to know that the content I am making seems to be striking a chord with ponies at least part of the time.
  3. Twi and Cadence are a Screenshot from the show, the Candelabra is also from the show, although I had to really tweak it a lot. The flowers and pots are assembled from various assets but again, getting them to look like this didn't happen on its own. I assembled this, so in that sense it is my artwork, but I did not create any of the assets, they're mostly pngs that other ponies have released onto the web.
  4. Wise is the pony who cultivates and cares for the presence of Love in their life. Nothing is certain. Sometimes the news is good, sometimes the news is bad. But if everything else has failed you, Love just might see you through it, come what might. I'd say it's more than worthwhile, and a perfectly legitimate exercise of enlightened self-interest to have a care for others. It is when we care for other ponies that we truly care for ourselves.
  5. It's a nice park, with a water feature as well. Everyone was so happy and full of life, perfect day. I imagine the fall must have been enchanting at the farm.
  6. The latest meme I submitted to Reddit is crossing the three dozen upvotes line. That's not a crater. I only aim to amuse.
  7. It was nice to see a Principal comment on just how GOOD this episode is:
  8. These are all amazing, great job! They're brilliant, inspiring, passionate and uplifting. They just have such a wonderful aspect of spirit, joyfully so.
  9. A rather macabre thought exercise, I must say. However, I suppose she would start talking about all the farm chores she's still gonna be able to do, just a little bit more slow but steady. Except that farm chores are DANGEROUS. I'm not being ableist by saying this. Even if you can see, the risk of injury and even death is never negligible on a farm. AJ going blind would be a catastrophe for Apple Acres.
  10. I guess that would be Ready Or Not, I'm to the point now where I have scores for every base-game level and all 6 of the DLC missions so far. I've beaten the base game in Commander mode, but not the DLC. I guess beating the game in Commander mode is how you're really supposed to do it, but then again, you never really win with a capital W in Commander mode so, eh...I did it for the base game, the DLC is categorically elective.
  11. I said no. The gender swap would be irrelevant in my case. I really am TERRIFIED to think what two of me feeding off each other might go and do. One of me is quite enough.
  12. This human world is bored and indifferent. I am grateful that MLP came into my life when it did. It has provided a big burst of positive inspiration and hope, but it is also visually stimulating and has got me making art again, even if it's only fan art. I ventured outside during the daylight hours and I must say I was disappointed by how little it seems I've missed. Row after row of mini malls and fastfood joints, endless snakes of traffic and annoying construction sites. The sprawl does its thing. Any single individual unit has a null value. Sure is a good thing I have Equestria to inhabit. Equestria is a place you can live. Starfleet comes with responsibilities, and troublesome politics can play into that. Maybe I would have made the cut, maybe not. Too late now. But I never saw one Pony ask another Pony to justify their right to simply live in Equestria, they don't do that. And life there is not denatured of any pony to pony contact like our world is.
  13. Hoping my brakes wouldn't fail completely before I got home.
  14. While it depends upon the nature of the original post, generally not. Especially if it's a thread that's more or less asking for everyone's answer to a question. If it's more of a discussion about a nuanced point, then I will peruse. But I do not spend long amounts of time scrolling through page after page of years old replies to long standing megathreads. I do keep track of what my friends are saying though, if like this place the forum allows me to follow their comings and goings. That is one thing I keep tabs on.
  15. If I had to pick one of the two options and then shut up, I'd say they're good. Maybe they are more good than bad. Maybe it doesn't matter whether they are bad, good or some combination of the two. Because as long as this society lasts, they're not going anywhere fast.
  16. I don't judge people by their avatars. I take what I see onboard as an indicator, in certain cases, but I try not to read too much into them, if I know nothing else about that person. You cannot know, just on the basis of what the avatar is, what that person's motivation for choosing it was. That's not even forming a judgment, that's projecting a narrative onto an image. Generally speaking, it seems that that leads to misunderstandings more often than not. I try, if anything, to be amused by avatars and if I have questions, I ask. I always like looking at them, cause they're visual. But they serve as an invitation to have a conversation, so why would I skip that opportunity and go straight to a snap judgment?
  17. High School was better than junior high. I went from having riots of kids chasing me down to being invisible the first year. That was such a relief I just coasted. Second year I began to make some friends and my grades improved. I was all gothed out as a sophomore. Junior year, I was like a normally constituted, well adjusted guy. It was the year 2000 B.C.E. and everybody wore their baseball cap backwards sooner or later, even goth kids. Senior year, I was just so bored of the place. My grades were good enough though I had some senioritis. For me High School wasn't so terrible, for me it was junior high...let's not revisit that.
  18. VVELCOME TO THE FORUMS, VVE'VE GOT FUN AND MANES!
  19. A serviceable enough episode. It had been awhile since we'd seen Starlight Glimmer. Characters like Sunburst, Trixie and Maud stack well together and hilarity ensues. All's well that ends well in Ponyville, but what about that book?
  20. Pinkie Pie at her psychotic best. Rainbow Dash cannot run, hide or outsmart Pinkie Pie. The Red Laser Eyes will avail RD not against the Pink Hordes of Pies!
  21. This episode was a scream! An EXTREME SCREAM! As only Iron Will could provide. It was neat to get to know Twilight Sparkles parents a bit better. And it's always a joy to spend an episode with the Crystal Empire's Fav Fam. But the air ship was beautiful, the jaunt has a real sense of adventure and Iron Will's narration kept getting more and more nonsensical. When he jumps over the edge with the parachute at the end I hit the floor laughing. This episode proves that later FIM can still be great FIM.
  22. I do not like this episode. Typically when you have a day camp for children, there is at least one responsible adult on site, at all times. Thunderlane doesn't count and his dynamic with Rumble leaves a yucky taste in my mouth. Not a fan of this one.
  23. This episode was visually lush and satisfying. It takes us to a swamp and shows us an enchanting little nook and cranny of Equestria in some detail. Fluttershy being Fluttershy, Twilight being Twilight and Zecora being Zecora. The drama and menace of the swamp fever feels like a very weak punch that was pulled anyway. It makes for satisfying, stress free watching, but this is hardly FIM at its best. Enjoyable, but I'm not sure how memorable.
