  1. This episode provides salutary lessons on the dangers of delegation, the preening of bureaucrats, the downside of deferred maintenance of major public utilities, as well as the severe health risks of sleep deprivation. Of course, hilarity always ensues when Spike gets high on his horse (ah ha ha) and tries to stick it to the ponies for a change. Luckily for Spike, Princess Cadence did not neglect to check up on his work and was able to use her crystal magic to stem the tide. An enjoyable comedy of errors at Canterlot!
  2. Just got out myself. Honestly both before and after seems like the Rarity thing to do, but that hot water bill...
  3. We had some sirens a lot of thunder and a bit of rain here, but I think we dodged it mainly.
  4. Pegasi all the way. Taking rebirth as a creature which can fly is always a sign of advancement.
  5. I'd do it in a heartbeat. Equestria is a spiritually more elevated world than ours. They too have problems, but not hydrogen bombs, genocidal governments, killer viruses or environmental ruin. Our Earth is only an intermediate world. Hard to say where Equestria falls, but it is certainly above us. There's so much they can teach us.
  6. It's nice that Gilda Griffin gets a redemption, it sure has been a long time since her first appearance. The episode tells a story which is very much in line with MLP at its best. Also, the episode features plenty of exquisite world building which is something I always enjoy when we see it in FIM.
  7. Once again, Princess Celestia proves that she does have a very zesty sense of fun. And, that she does not like the Grand Galloping Gala, viewing it as a stuffy, annoying chore.
  8. There's so much I could say about what is arguably one of the more memorable and unique episodes of the entire series. But there's something I had forgotten about or didn't notice the first time I watched this episode; - At this point in the series, how could there be a (seemingly unreformed?) child changeling at the wedding? How is that even possible? Where are their parents? How would that be possible? Am I brain dead, have I missed an entire episode twice? At the time of this episode, was not the last time we saw the Changelings when Queen Chrysalis had infiltrated Canterlot? I'm confused. - Otherwise, the highlights included; - Princess C and Princess L bickering over a forgotten gift, Princess Cadence explaining Shining Armor's fugue state to a Turnip farmer pony, Lyra Heartstrings and Bon Bon / Sweetie Drops charming little story arc, Doctor Who and the Big Leboswki, and Amethyst Star taking over for Twilight Sparkle as a wedding planner. - One of my fav episodes, but I can't remember or understand, what's up with the Changeling kiddo?
  9. Trouble Shoes has a long, sad ole' song to sing of himself. Can't help but like him. Applejack seemed to be in one of her more stubborn moods for the entire episode. Apparently in Appleloosa, an accusation, or even mysterious circumstances are an automatic conviction. That so called Sheriff isn't at risk for Chief of the Year anytime soon, he oughta go attend a police academy one of these days. And as for the CMC, well, let's see; - Let's wander off without permission. - Let's try to participate in dangerous Rodeo activities, really among the most dangerous family of sports, when we have no prior experience. - Let's wander off against specific instructions from our elders not to do so. - There's Stromboli's wagon, in the middle of the woods, in the dead of night, in the midst of a loud thunder storm, let's go inside! - Let's stage a jail break. Fillies and Gentlecolts, it falls to me to be the pony to tell you, but when he opened the front door and beheld the CMC jumping up and down, giddy that they'd found him, that was the day Slenderman put Slender Mansion up for sale, priced to move.
  10. The first video or computer game I ever played is a tricky question. Was Logo Writer a game? Our teachers tried to tell us it was. What about number munchers? An EGA bugs bunny game might have been. We're going REALLY FAR BACK IN TIME HERE. Forget all that, as for Sega Genesis, Sosnok The Gohegdeh 2, and as for PC gaming, let's start the story with Wolfenstein 3d. Those are two suitably epic year zeros.
  11. I was doing a Let's Play of a favorite game and was getting the better of a giant spider. I did an Emperor Palpatine impression and got so into it that I walked right into a pit and injured myself, but I stayed in character and rolled with it. And it's preserved for the rest of civilized history somewhere in the Hive mind of YouTube.
  12. 5'11" so kinda not short but not really tall either.
  13. Same color it's always been, white with a black shadow.
  14. Humanization are fine to look at, as novelties. I'm not gonna be an unpleasant ogre about it. But I feel the same way about humanizing the Ponies generally as I feel about Equestria Girls, why? To me it just defeats the whole point. They're ponies. But that's just me, and I enjoy looking at the artwork.
  15. McDonald's is not food. It is fissile matter in the color and form of food. You can eat it, I wouldn't. It is optimized to be more addictive than most illegal drugs. It WILL give you diabetes real quick. Beyond the food, McE Deez isn't always safe. Fights break out, and they get ugly. I won't say I NEVER go, cause people I'm with will want to, but I avoid them like the plague. Don't get me wrong, I love the taste of fresh Silicone McNuggets, a large order of Sighs and a large Doctor Pressure. But that doesn't mean they are healthy for me.
  16. 15:30 CENTRAL TIME, Time to finish my coffee and get out of bed.
  17. I do get mad when people knock my nostalgia gems, and I cannot lie. No generation invented the wheel, since the generation which invented the wheel. I won't say it's all been done before, but I will say that not everything that's been done should be thrown out just because it's not new anymore. We stand on the shoulders of giants and the present never understands its motivations clearly. My name is Matt Filli, and I am a pony temporal perspectivist. The living essence of the past as it exists within the present is this; that a great many things are already irrevocably done, right now, in this moment. You wouldn't be taking anything for granted if they weren't. No Tirac = No Tirek No Spike = No Spike No Megan = No such thing as pig tails No Clover = No entirely preventable Problems No Doomguy Guy / Pinkie Pie Ship = No Painsaw No Nightmare Moon = No Mane 6 Don't knock the past so long as your Atman is still subject to cause and effect, that is to say, the past.
  18. Question 1: What would you do if the world was going to end in 10 minutes while you are at school, college, and/or work? How to word this on a site with little ears around? I would seek a willing participant for some human contact, whatever that might be. 10 minutes would not be enough time for me to prepare for the destruction of the entire world in any real way, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. I'd just take refuge in the instinctual need for comfort, and try to find some physically. Question 2: What would you do if the world was going to end in an hour while you are at school, college, and/or work? If I had an hour to prepare, I would meditate. I would attempt to achieve the most clear and intense focus on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, so that when the end came, the highest of the high was the last thing I was fixated on. That way I would either escape the cycle, or get some kind of decent rebirth elsewhere. Question 3: What would you do if the world was going to end in one day, while you're at home with your family? I'm not proud to say this, but I would pay my parents and sibling my last respects, and I would then elect to die alone. And I'd just do a longer version of what I've described above in my answer to question #2. There's no other way I can say it, I love my family but I would not choose to experience the end of the world in their company.
  19. I certainly consider my own behavior to be sometimes immature and not age appropriate. As for what a reasonable person might consider immature behavior? - Demanding respect while making it clear you don't know how or choose not to show it to others. - Raising the volume because you're not getting what you want. - Crying because you're not getting what you want. - Telling lies for any reason. - Acting like a non-conformist only because you are failing to be the more conventional person you'd even prefer to be. - Any self appointed Gatekeeping when you're not a mod. - Preaching about causes you make no efforts to further. - Refusing to admit that something you thought you wanted isn't actually what you thought it would be. I won't say that I myself have been guilty of all of these, but I will say that I've been guilty of most of them. And speaking from plenty of experience, I can tell you, they're getting you nowhere fast. You may win 50 arguments in a row with these behaviors. One day, you might find that you need money fast and you don't have it. When that happens, try each and every one of these above listed behaviors and watch them do nothing to improve your circumstances. Whereas, if you cultivate your relationships with non-toxic behaviors, people might do all kinds of things to help you, beyond what you'd expect they would.
  20. I average 3, seldom 2, never 1, often too many.
  21. At the moment, I would not hesitate for a single moment to take rebirth in the world of FIM right now. This very moment. No hesitation.
  22. I'd like the existence of the Bardo in your story or any other MLP fan fic, Buddhist and Hindu ideas are very much present in my MLP headcanon, and I would argue they are...highly latent in both FIM and Gen 5, as they are presented to us. So there's something we agree on.
  23. I have a similar reaction to some of the Doomguy and Pinkie Pie ship memes I've encountered. There's something just wrong about it, especially if you've played Doom since 1994 and get certain references, yeah, Pinkie can get out there sometimes, but this particular genre just takes her in a direction that isn't necessary. Nothing good could come of the premise...the internet did not need it.
