  1. There ain't no seniority, they've retired that whole concept. They promote their favs. Sometimes they mark you and then it's game over. They don't like to fire anyone cause they don't like paying unemployment, so they just start acting nasty until you leave. They say they want people who go the extra mile, what they don't say is that they expect you to go two miles for one miles worth of compensation, and you're actually running in place.
  2. Yeah, that's the challenge. Don't be like me and leave before you find something else. As for promotion, I don't know, I'm mystified. I put in my time, did all their (stupid) e-learning and attended some trainings, only to be told that any promotions, just like an across the board market adjustment was up to people above our department, who don't like any of us. So after telling me for six months that the sky was the limit if only I'd do a little extra, my bosses then notified me that the sky is made of concrete and it's not a battle they can really fight. They're not terribly concerned about retention because they feel there will always be folks coming in through the revolving door as old folks go out. I know everypony already knows this, that's how it is everywhere now. I got so sick of it that I just stormed off with no particular port in sight and now I am kind of adrift. Probably shouldn't have done that, but they were going out of their way to be nasty to me. You can't do that to a person or a pony day in and day out. That's how...I even went to bat for them, by removing myself...unbelievable.
  3. Only you can decide if it's worth it to you. If it is, then you've got this, go for it. If it is not, do not let them work you too hard. Unless they're really, and I do mean really making it worth your while, they have no business working you like that. It doesn't do you any good if it drops you and you don't end up getting back up. That's not worth it.
  4. I never laugh more than when the joke is so dry, it makes the Sahara Desert thirsty.
  5. I put ghost, but that was down in the basement. I was actually convinced (and terrified) that there were aliens in my closet, every night between when I fell asleep the first time and when the sun came up fully. They were in there, watching me. I remember being terrified that the Tycho Black Monolith from Stanley Kubrick's 2001 would just appear spontaneously, and it would be all scary and messed up.
  6. My legs are covered in bites atm...I get it.
  7. Back in the 2000-00's and 2000-Tweens, I was active on many Forums...I suppose these below are the major ones worth noting; - www.ttlg.com (dedicated to the Thief and System Shock franchises) - Mystic Wicks (for us strange kiddos, and before I learned the truth about the owner) - There was a fan forum for the Goth Ethereal Band Cocteau Twins, I was pretty active there for a moment. - There was that forum where they did the viral marketing for The Ring remake, I fell for that one. - There were the old Beliefnet Forums, I was in those... - To be sure Forums are considered a bit dated next to the malignant social media platforms we have now, but I think they still have an important role to play and always will. - This is the ONLY traditional php style forum I am active on right now...TTLG is a tomb, and more a record of the fandom's history than a living sandbox anymore. - I don't count Reddit as a forum, even though it maybe is, I'm active there now...lucky me...
  8. Sometimes I reheat it, sometimes I don't bother, depends on how lazying I'm being. If you're eating left over pizza to begin with, it's probably a lazy day... Sometimes I zap it in the wave, sometimes I don't bother...eh...
  9. I used to be very afraid of saying the wrong thing, but I am entirely over that by now. Unfortunately, due to my profession, I often have to say the "wrong" thing. But really, I would submit that the concept of "right" and "wrong" things to say doesn't set us up for success ahead of time. Life is tricky and messy, and if you're doing right by people, you're going to have to tell them all kinds of things they don't want to hear. That doesn't mean you said the "wrong" thing. Then people come at you with, it's not what you're saying but how you're saying it. People don't always know you well enough to know how you prefer to be told things. And even if they do, they have needs and boundaries of their own. They may have a duty to tell you a certain thing, a certain way. Sometimes the news is good, often it isn't. It's a careful proceedure, to be sure, talking to people, and it should be. But it's on everyone, and I mean everyone, no exceptions, to remember that none of us are flawless. We've got dents and we've got quirks, so the fit ain't factory tolerances...
  10. There is a wonderful New Age album by Diane and David Arkenstone called Aquaria, A Liquid Blue Trancescape. If Dion Fortune's Book The Sea Priestess needed an OST, you could use this album as a drop in solution. Together, the essence of a theme and maybe even a plot for the entire overarching experience of a trip to the park could be extracted from these two works.
  11. I'm thinking, my right arm is sunburnt as all...heck...right now. My sunburnt flesh has summoned Heckrasier's ball and popped it. Heckraiser doesn't have a BOX, he has a ball, one of those you get in the bin at Walmart, with every infectious disease equitably represented on their circumferences... Frankly, I enjoy living with ADD/ADHD!
  12. Watching this for the first time on VHS was really a seminal moment of my childhood. And what an adventurous film it kicks off.
  13. A zany, but endearing episode very much in the best traditions of FIM. By now it's getting to be time for the Mane 6 to be taking a look back. You'll reach that point... But this episode has plenty of goofy and funny and thrilling moments. The pacing is brisk but not breakneck. There are some gently administered, but necessary lessons on offer here; About the masses, about fandoms, about celebrity, about individual or group connections versus the life of the herd. FIM always has such a fine but casually utilized nuance, and yet the lessons are always coming from a good place. "Flawless" is an awesome song, and I am sure some brony boyiz have produced amazing remixes, I am gonna go in search of those right now. The Bat Computer sayz "Searching...Found." Nothing like a glitch pop track that's titled Flawless! Boss track tho...
  14. Well, this morning I am feelingHUZZAH! HOW MANY POINTS DO I RECEIVE!?!
  15. Cooking Korean noodles, for breakfast, those glass noodles are carbs. Most important meal of the day.
  16. A Merry Southern Hemisphere Solstice to Thee, Your Majesty, and to all of you southernly situated ponies on the other side of the Equator!
  17. A Special Thank You to Every Pony who tuned in yesterday, thank you.

The video is off to the best start it possibly could be. I hope you can all join me again on the 5th of July, for Lyra and Bon Bon Day.

Even though that video was made first, I think it is the slightly better of the two, and this first premiere has hopefully just primed the lines a little bit.

A third video is already under production and it is gonna be way more ornate and involved, though it is still an AMV.

    These are niche, I know.

I am not going to weigh in with commentary, showcases, episode reactions, unboxings or reviews until Gen 6 arrives.

So many people already have the other generations covered quite well.

I will try to add my voice to the conversation when there is something new to discuss.

Until then, there's plenty I can accomplish by adding to the edifice of pony lore we maintain here on the forum.

Reddit and Tumblr and DeviantArt have also been very welcoming.

I know if I keep at it, the sky is the limit, at least if Gen 6 ends up being a good thing.

MLP itself is settling back down into niche again, albeit a big niche, which is fine...there's nothing wrong with that.

MLP FIM was not typical and should not have been expected.

My other YouTube channel focuses on a series of computer games that always was niche and always will be niche,

And, always will be there, even if as a niche.

    Tis Well.

I didn't think there'd be this bright blast of fresh candy colored sunlight as I enter my middle age, I must have gotten some good karma along the way.

And I hope you'll all keep on trotting along with me on this pony path!

  19. Hopefully every pony is having a good day today. The rebalancing and new accord that the Festival of the Two Sisters represents is something we need now more than ever in this world. But each and everyone has the power within to create the good changes we want to see. Please enjoy this commemorative I've crafted, and I hope to see every pony in the live chat tonight: https://youtu.be/tvBhtsmMtas

May They help all of us to find the balance!

  22. This evening at Rainbow Falls has been heavenly. Chilling out at Equestria's most breathtaking natural feature is what has made me happy today. Please enjoy these pictures!
  23. It's an interesting question. He's not immune to being turned to stone either. And typically, he's not quick to react. Usually he's mellow and chill and doesn't worry about threats. His first response tends to be some kind of joke. On the other hand, when Starlight Glimmer told him that the Changelings had abducted Fluttershy, he was MAD. Had his magic not been nerfed, Queen Chrysalis might have had a nasty fight on her hands. What I want to know is, where was Starlight Glimmer? Back in Ponyville? Were they unable to get to her? In the days that the Mane 6 were wandering the world and the high seas, what the heck was Shining Armor doing? Shouldn't he have been organizing some kind of counter attack from the Crystal Empire? No...Tempest Shadow and the Storm King got the drop on Canterlot that day, fair and square. And most creatures in Equestria, are just not equipped to react. Bug Bears are mindless, Yaks are...not organized, the Griffins and Dragons might have put up a fight, but not likely in any decisive manner. You'd think that by that point, after the Changelings and Tirek, that Princess Celestia would have increased security bit more...I dunno. Honestly, the pony in me knows that the Mane 6 saved the day the right way. But if the human in me were Princess Luna, I would try to last long enough to separate the Tantabus again, and give it the image of the Storm King's symbol and one word; Attack.
  24. Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders And oh boy, tonight do I have a POV that you do not want to see when you play this game. Flying Phoenix Rod Pinkie Pie has the self healing Necromancer Lightning if you get too close, and the Iron Liches do enhanced damage when they're nearby her.
  25. The most beautiful thing I ever saw [in this world anyway], was my first sight of my step son when I met him for the first time. He was a 2.5 year old blonde haired, blue eyed, serene angel. And I hadn't seen anything more beautiful than that. Even after everything, I can still remember that sight and I can't imagine how much poorer my life would have been if I'd never seen him to begin with.
