I really am saddened to say this, but I absolutely do hate this episode. It is vile. Revolting. Writer Kaita Mpambara, I'm calling you out by name, this episode you wrote sucks. Sometimes there's no nice way to describe a truly rotten thing. This episode is entirely disrespectful of all the hard earned progress Rainbow Dash has managed to make over the entire series. Rainbow Dash struggles with empathy, tact and manners. But, over the course of the series we've seen her internalize hard lessons and develop something approximating increased self awareness. All of that apparently just went up in smoke. Not at any point even during the first five seasons was RD ever as callous, empty hearted and irresponsible as she was portrayed as being toward her students in this episode. It's not funny or enjoyable to watch. More importantly, this wasn't Rainbow Dash. The Real Rainbow Dash wouldn't be so tone deaf to the idea of a cheer squad, no way, she'd be all for it. And by this point, even RD would never be so unfeeling and disinterested in something other ponies were excited about. The Real Rainbow Dash would never pass up an opportunity to be an awesome coach. Ashleigh Ball, why did you agree to this script? Why didn't you protect Rainbow Dash from this Calumny?

Fluttershy would accept and welcome Snoopy and Woodstock, they in turn wouldn't play any jokes, they would have a clear read of her.

A Canterlot Jaunt Lyra Heartstrings was either a native of Canterlot, or grew up and was educated there from a very young age. She was also a student of Princess Celestia. It is not difficult to imagine that a pony as refined, dare I say polished, as Lyra likely was a native of Equestria's capital city. Her cultivated intellect did not lead her to heroics per se, but Ponyville was certainly more vibrant for her decision to settle there. Bon Bon (Sweetie Drops) was a sleeper government agent, and thus no stranger in Canterlot either. MLP FIM's first Ship are a well traveled pair, and I imagine they travel together frequently. This would inevitably include a jaunt to Canterlot, at least once in a while.

Thanks you all for the kind words of support. This was a very involved and personal project for me, in a really off-beat direction, but it mattered to me. I'm glad to see that there are things about it that are compelling or engaging for other ponies. It's a nice feeling.

Revenge Rarity, Acrylic on Canvas board, 14"x18", 2025 Arise, Daughter. Here is the painting that has been rattling around in my head for many months now, finally realized in matter, energy, time and space. I am entirely satisfied, she is everything I hoped she would be, and then some. What follows is my rather lengthy explanation of everything, and there's a lot, that went into this. First of all, where are we? In what AU does this occur? Well, first of all, I want to say that Revenge Rarity has nothing to do with Lil Miss Rarity, at all. Very important point, Revenge Rarity is an entirely different, and far superior beast. There's no dungeon that can hold her, and I have proof. To understand Revenge Rarity, you have to know that she hails from the AU of the Rarity Versus The Changelings mod, for GZDOOM. This masterpiece of a DOOM mod was originally created by bahatumay. So, to experience what I experienced, go here: https://www.equestriagaming.net/2025/03/raridoom-by-bahatumay-doom-with.html For more context, go here: https://raridoom.blogspot.com/2020/09/raridoom-v-8.html You absolutely should play this mod. DOOM and mods for DOOM have been, and really still are, a big part of my life as a gamer. I've played a great many of them. Most are pretty traditional and lately, I'd been short on inspiration. But then, while working on my Pinkie Pie DOOMGUY Ship, I encountered this. I know a good DOOM mod when I see one. Yes, Rarity Versus The Changelings Packaged Version is a mod of a mod. Yes, the texture count is rather low. Yes, the levels are a bit rudimentary and lumpy. Yes, some of the art work is corny, certain things look a lot better than others. I certainly wish this mod had been given a bit more polish and attention to detail. But none of that really matters. The mod is fast-paced, refreshing, a totally unique adventure far outside of the norm, and most of all, it is challenging as all Hell. Like any real DOOM mod should be. You do not approach this mod with an arrogant or dismissive attitude, it will very quickly kick your ass if you do. The enemies are inventive, deadly, quick and unpredictable. The game keeps a tight choke hold on resources, you've got to play with discipline. That said, it is not unbalanced. The Hoofsaw is devastating, and far more practical than the chainsaw ever is in Vanilla DOOM. There's a lot of up close and personal combat here. Rarity's magical attacks are staggeringly powerful, but she cannot take too much punishment. Armor is present but hard to maintain. You need to conserve your mana for certain situations. Health is very hard to come by. Again, the game will punish sloppy playing. Don't let the cartoonish aspect fool you. In a nutshell, the story of this AU is that the Changelings have kidnapped the rest of the Mane 6 plus Sweetie Belle, but minus Rarity. The game describes this as Queen Chrysalis' greatest, most historic mistake. Rarity is mad, really really mad. She dives straight into the bowels of the Hive with a singleness of purpose, and a ferocity, that will slice wide open any and all Changelings that get in her way. And you'd better not pull any punches, because the Changelings have plenty of nasty surprises in store. Whether it is an entire bestiary of Changeling subspecies, giant Lyra and Bon Bon clones or shape shifter Trixies and Pinkie Pies, you're going to have an uphill battle to fight. Neither the Cyber Trixie, nor Queen Chrysalis are casual walks in the park as far as boss fights are concerned. The Assimilated Changeling Pinkie Pie is simply the most terrifying boss fight I've ever had to overcome in any iteration of DOOM ever. And that is saying a great deal. Any of her five attacks are almost one shot knockdowns. The splash damage from even glancing blows will decimate you. Fighting Assimilated Changeling Pinkie Pie leaves you feeling spiritually rattled. A nightmare of a boss fight and the true climax of the experience. But don't take my word for any of this. If you want a fast paced, four episode DOOM adventure that you'll never forget, play Rarity Versus The Changelings. The game benefits from plenty of text screens, unique intermission artwork, and even several animated cutscenes in-game, plus a crawler image at the end. It's much heavier on story than most DOOM mods are, and more ambitious in its presentation. It has given us a Rarity who is the coldest, deadliest, hardest and most badass pony warrior ever to have trotted upon the soils of Equestria. And this is the Rarity I have sought to capture in my painting. I imagine that this portrait of Revenge Rarity was taken in the midst of her exploits during the game. Perhaps this image captures her between levels. In DOOM, the pause between one level and the next is always brief, but also always timeless. She sits waiting, for however long, to return to the fray. Nothing else matters, she wants her Sweetie Belle, and her friends back, and every Changeling between her and them is going to pay the ultimate price. She regards us with a gaze that is not an indication that she is about to pounce on us. More, she challenges us to explain why we are anything of consequence to her. Us humans, with our frailties, baggage, damage, resentments and grievances. In the face of her dilemma, and her task, how flippant and trivial we all seem. Is there anything we wanted to say? Or can we get back to the fight now? All the hardness and violence of any Pony Creepypasta is here, with interest. But there is none of the hesitation, self hatred and psychological dissonance that we've come to expect from Creepypasta Ponies. Rarity's focus, singlness of purpose and willingness to fight are a molecular blade that will slice wide open anything that gets in range. DOOMGUY and Pinkie Pie, as we've come to know them in my recent fan fic are merely a pair of love birds by comparison, and they should go get a room. Right and wrong, good and evil, honor or war crimes, all of these considerations are irrelevant to Revenge Rarity, she wants her family and friends back. And yes, I can report that eventually Revenge Rarity achieves her goal quite successfully, rescuing both the Mane 6 and Sweetie Belle, while also finally serving Queen Chrysalis the punishment she always deserved but never really suffered. Of course, the game ends with a twist that is entirely appropriate for the story it has told, and for a DOOM mod in general. Play the mod. After I did, there was no question of not making this painting. I am a casual fan of many historic TV shows, but I seldom rewatch them. I look up clips when the itch scratches me. Favorites include: The Simpsons The X-Files Star Trek The Next Generation Star Trek TOS Fraser Shows for old people, basically. I have much involvement and nostalgia in these shows and once upon a time I never missed an episode. Star Trek Strange New Worlds is the only show I am religiously following ATM. I just don't watch much TV anymore.

This was the last video I watched, and you should watch it too:

The Hula Hoop was sorta still a big thing culturally when I was growing up. Past its peak but very much still a thing. I was okay with it. I wasn't very well coordinated, but I was skinny, and spry, so that helped.

Pizza, which was the only food I ate today, that's gotta be healthy. I didn't miss my caffeine today though.

What Do You Plan To Do 10 Minutes From Now?
Night Sky replied to EpicEnergy's topic in General Discussion
Probably grab a shower, then make some tea and read. -
Fighting Assimilated Changeling Pinkie Pie during a live stream of Rarity Versus The Changelings for GZDOOM. That always makes me laugh. It's better when other people are laughing. Assimilated Changeling Pinkie Pie is like really bad news, but in a funny way. That Party Cannon can fire all kinds of loads. That Rarity survives that mod proves that she's actually the toughest pony EVAR!

Today I acquired a now rare book, I had a golden opportunity to do so, and just barely managed to not let the book slip away. They shopkeeper almost didn't sell it to me, at the price he had on it, but I reminded him that he had two copies and I was only buying one. He went and pulled the other copy, he's gonna reassess. Well, he could have done so at any time before I arrived.

I parse the headline on the AP or Reuters once a day. If I feel it's a topic I need to stay informed about, I follow it, but only up to a point. Also, I avoid commentary and I don't follow any so called personality journalists. Every last one of them is useless for anything but creating echoes in the chambers. The trick I think is the quality of the information I take in about subjects that actually matter to me, rather than the content. There is all kinds of information out there that has nothing to offer me, and staying away from it has a great deal TO offer me. A total news black out may be both impractical and not even desirable, but a healthy relationship to the news is clearly a difficult and careful balancing act.

My brother and I were able to get to the bookstore and snag a book I badly needed to replace. It is out of print and going forward, even used copies are going to skyrocket in price. It is already happening online. I got really lucky today.

Waiting for my brother, and I am still waiting for him. -
Pensive. I am after an important item this afternoon. It should not be a problem, however I am in haste and there's already one delay in my way. The sense of urgency has arrived.

Waiting for my brother to hurry it up already.

general What would you do if your town was being evacuated?
Night Sky replied to ranul's topic in General Discussion
Water food, guns and ammo, maybe some medical supplies. Some balance of whatever I can carry. Warm clothing, everything else stays, unfortunately. -
What made you sad/ angry/ negative emotion today?
Night Sky replied to twiia's topic in General Discussion
A book I wanted to replace new is now out of print, and I am scrambling to get to bookstore to purchase a used copy. My copy was destroyed due to water damage. It is not encouraging to know that book is out of print now. -
Another Cheese Sandwich episode was never going to be hard to sell to me. I'm always up for Weird Al and or Polka time! It was an important lesson. Abd I'm glad the factory manager was not a villain. There was no bad guy in this episode, Cheese Sandwich just hit a rough patch in his life, happens to the best of us. The parody of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was in no way missed.

So far, I have poured myself a cup of coffee and eaten a handful of potato chips.
