  1. I like to think I'm lax and down to earth about work, but I'm told otherwise lol. I don't go out my way to work hard ATM because of sciatica but people are still happy with my work - can't complain because it does feel nice to be appreciated, and I don't run the risk of being exploited for it :]
  2. Big fan of disengaging from social media and engaging with hobbies, nature, literally anything else because of this. Guilty of being online a lot myself but I do not have 'mainsteam' social media accounts - all of those just want your data, most commonly just to sell you stuff. But not limited to just that of course. Avoid Tiktok like the plague cos its format feels predatory and insulting to its own audience. I could go on about doomscrolling - one one hand I appreciate knowing about social issues I wouldn"t have known about otherwise, but obviously without healthy coping mechanisms it can get out of hand mentally.
  3. Yeah I already wasn't fond of G5's use of phones and influencer culture - felt too contemporary to me and clearly trying to be hip. FIM felt timeless in its setting and feeling like a fantasy universe was a big reason - I want to ponder other worlds, not experience more of the same of mine :|
  4. I'm already learning the violin and I have an electric baritone guitar, love them both lol :] I would however love to learn bass, drums and how to use keys for electronic rock - I adoooore how drums set the whole flow of a track, love the deepness and funk of the bass and the atmosphere of keys for background in songs is superb. A cello would also be fantastic but I may find it a bit too unwieldly compared to the violin that is a perfect travel size. Would also love to have a spare mandolin as it shares a tuning with the violin so it'd be like a plucked version of one... or an accordion... Iove too many instruments lol :]
  5. People my age in this area being too busy with the rat race to exist in any hobbyist club or meaningful group. Everyone's busy trying to prove something or chasing goals others implanted in their heads that they feel is their own - it makes me feel older than I actually am lol 😐
  6. Honestly my prior answer sums it up- here to take a peek at old forum culture as someone who grew up on the internet back in the day and is disappointed in contemporary social media. Old fandom I was in... is in the past, so ponies are a reasonable alternative as someone who watched the fandom grow from its beginnings!! So uh heyyyy. I'm bad at this stuff. 🤣
