Iridescent Edge

Obsidia remained leaning over the railing when her eyes wandered to the food table decorated with red tablecloth. There were various snacks and beverages on the table, from cookies and pies to hot chocolate and apple cider. They all looked fairly delectable. The more Obsidia looked at the various refreshments on display, the more she became aware of the mild hunger growing inside her. She let out a faint, contemplative hum. Surely no one would mind if she teleported something from the table to herself as a snack, right? Obsidia scanned the snack table. Her eyes narrowed once she decided on a target; a cherry pie topped with whipped cream. A navy blue aura surrounded her horn as she began to cast the spell. But as she was casting it, her focus was abruptly undermined by the chaotic entrance of a silver coated mare bursting through the window. Obsidia jolted in surprise and then looked down to find no pie at her hooves. Almost immediately afterwards, a dramatic scream filled the entire ballroom, causing Obsidia to wince. Upon opening her eyes, she realized that she had accidentally teleported the cherry pie directly above Rarity’s outfit.

Obsidia had always hated formal events. Being forced to stand in the middle of a large room with a crowd that felt even larger, all while having to bear the crushing weight of their expectations without showing a single crack. When her mother told her that this event would be optional, it felt like the most obvious decision was to sit this one out. Obsidia had planned to just hide in the library for the entire event. For her, the library was a sanctuary of peace and comfort. But as she was on her way to the castle library, she crossed over the balcony that overlooked the gathering, and her curiosity got the better of her. She crept up to the railing. Maybe she could observe for a couple minutes… Obsidia peered over the balcony at ballroom below. The room was decorated for the holidays, complete with a large coniferous evergreen. She was surprised to see how diverse the attendance was. There were several ponies that appeared to come from all sorts of locations and social classes. Some even brought their foals. Some of the attendants weren’t ponies at all, but creatures Obsidia had only seen in books. The sounds of laughter, cordial dialogue, and the occasional tears of joy filled the air. Overall, she was surprised by how relaxed the whole event felt.

I have a few questions. Is applying a guarantee that you’ll get “pied”, and thus a promise of making a video about being “pied?” And what are the accepted mediums of this video? Does it have to be live-action? Could it be animated? Does it even have to be a video? Could it just be drawing or a GIF?

Does anyone know what the ponies are saying at 17:25? All I can hear is "I'd love to queue your pores!"
