  1. I'm actually known at school for being ridiculously skilled at pretty much everything having to do with hand-eye coordination/things similar to video games. I play "Osu!" in school, and people freak out over how well I do.

Example of gameplay I can do:

Now, keep in mind that I don't get as high of a percentage as that player... But still. People find me to be on cocaine or something.

Maybe you're just more of a classic gamer. NES and SNES games? Or perhaps something more slower paced and more along the lines of strategical? Try things out like that.

  2. Here's a crazy idea.

Why don't YOU make the effort?

If you're feeling ignored, inbox some people or quote some posts.

    People will respond.

Suskel could have done the same, I never even saw his status.

A bunch of people probably didn't, so that's why it didn't get a bunch of attention.

If you're feeling ignored by your friends, maybe it;s time to start considering a better friend group?

While I wouldn't word it so... similarly to this, I'll have to say that I agree.

One does not simply gain attention for no reason. If you want people to notice you, here, on the forums, post. If you're still not satisfied, post some more. The more you post, the more people see you. The more people see you, the more likely they'll go and wonder who this new, awesome user is, and the more likely they'll maybe send you a message.

Also, be a cool person in general. Be funny, or be intelligent and insightful, or a mixture. Most people don't browse the internet to read boring things, so if you're funny, you'll most likely have lots of attention. Post silly things. I'm always posting herp derp stuff like this, and that's how I've gotten to be a bit more known and less "ignored" as a user. You really just need to define yourself.

With the internet, a big issue is the lack of physical communication, gestures, tones, and etc. You're still quite the newb, you haven't been here for very long, at all, so people don't know if you're silly head, a butthurt kid, a genius, a pancake, a turtle, or a psychotic yandere hellbent on seducing the admin(s) to get closer to Feld0 to murder him in his sleep and take over the entire forums. This makes people hesitant to speak to you, as, for all they know, you could actually be annoyed by them starting up a conversation. I've only seen you about two times before, so I'm still clueless as to what you're like (and it doesn't help that you have no "about me" on your profile), so I don't know if I would even want to start a conversation with you, at all.

The "popular" people (like Shankveld!) get spoken to more, because people know them more (that's why they're popular...), so they are a bit more relaxed and comfortable with them. You've just got to make yourself more known, so people can be chill around you, as well.

Now... for the real life issue... I got nothin'. People in real life are douches, so I personally avoid everyone in real life. They're really mean, and they don't make any sense at all. I really can't offer anything on that part...

As for Suskel leaving; yeah, I didn't see the status update, either. If it was during school hours, that's probably why. People are busy, and they don't check every status update in the world. I personally used to hate status updates, because they reminded me of Facebook too much, so I would never check them, and never post them. It took me like 2 months to actually write one... But my point is; not everyone looks at status updates to begin with. So there's a big filter out, there. I bet only, like, 4 people saw it, and the three that didn't say anything didn't know him at all, or didn't feel like they were personalised with him enough to really make a difference.

  3. I've actually posted quite a few things that are suggestive, as I like to make fun of those who legitimately like those kinds of things (like that /mlp/ related status I made not that long ago that Motion Spark posted on and mentioned this incident). To be fair, I can see an nice argument on both ends, so I would be able to understand both decisions that could have occurred.

    To sum up things, though...

    >Make support ticket: moderation dispute

    >Things happen

    >End

  4. I joined on the day (or maybe the day after, I forget) the character limit was implemented, and to be honest, I didn't even notice it until about a week and a half later, and that was because I saw the random change of font colour on the side of my editing box, not because it gave me a warning for not having enough content. If people were only going to say, "Haha! Yeah, I get it. XD" then I'm glad I wasn't here during the lack of character limitation.
