  1. Dude, do so. We need all the people from the forums we can get. <3 I checked, and everything's installed right. Yeah, turns out it is joining sv_pure servers that does it. Still, why does that effect menu mods?
  2. Dude, we totally need get ourselves a big truck or something, go around the world gathering all merch/cassettes/whatever remnants of previous generations we can find, and dump them in a big fire. But in all seriousness, I gotta say, The old pony toys were ugly. Especially when I see them all filthy and beat up at second-hand stores. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png
  3. You're just gonna have to buy a cheap game, like Kyreth said. But, buy something you actually want instead of buying something crappy. Also, I went ahead and created a separate member group to keep us TF2 players organized and stuff, so we can easily see who all's on so they can be joined. :3 The link is here. The name's a reference to a little in-joke on the chat, don't let it weird you out. Anyway, I thought there being a group specifically for TF2 players from the forums would be helpful, to let us create our own little network of sorts. Anyway, got back from another many-hour-spanning TF2 session. Many a Klopp died today. @Ember: I installed the menu mods, and they work fine, but whenever I join a server and leave, the menu background goes black, one of the default characters shows, and in the developer console there's a constant loading error loop. You get this too, or just me?
  4. I meant how much time takes place between the events in each episode.
  5. @Auriety: I apologize for not elaborating that. I was kinda in a hurry to do something else. Oh well. Zoop, good job there. <3 @Ember: I never really succumbed to the collecting fever, thankfully. You put it perfectly, though. Also you must share that mod. @Blue: Hahaha, I figured something like that existed by now. I know I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this, but my least favorite map is probably 2fort. It just seems to be the exactly same thing every game. Sentries near the hayroom, snipers on the sniper deck near the bridge, scouts bonk-ing past it all and and spies camping the snipers. cp_egypt is probably my favorite map, though I'm rather fond of pl_goldrush as well. I also remember there being a cp_kakariko custom map floating around that I loved. I guess I'd say I main as engineer, soldier and heavy. I can play the rest of the classes, but not as well.
  6. It went "Free to play" over a year ago, and you can get it here. :3
  7. I decided to do a little figuring on what I'll need to craft the weapons (the ones with unique stats) that came out before I left, and I'm pretty sure I've got enough metal for the blueprints, all I need is the weapons for them. I dunno why, but I like to try to have at least one of every weapon with unique stats. Which reminds me, if anyone's got a Quick-fix they'd be willing to trade off for cheap (A scrap or two) then we'll try to arrange it. I can't believe they expect people to throw away a refined on crafting it. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png Entire spy is babies. I kid, I kid. @PSP: If only there were cross-platform support like there is with Portal 2.
  8. Just watched the episode, and I liked it. Got a few laughs, and a few d'awwww moments. ....now that I think about it, did Pinkie Pie wash her hooves after changing their diapers? I mean, they made a point to show Mr. Cake washing his, but I don't specifically remember Pinkie Pie washing hers... Anyway, it's a good episode, but it raises the question: How much time goes on between episodes, anyway? Also, fun game: Spot the disappearing diapers! I noticed a few scenes where the babies' diapers disappeared and then magically reappeared the next scene.
  9. Dude, it doesn't matter. As long as it's people from the forums getting together, it'll be fun. Besides, you don't get better without practice! Add us on Steam.
  10. Just got out of a 5+ hour session of TF2 with Vicke, playing around on Valve servers. Many kills were had, many points capped, defended, and many pootises pootis'd, and maybe even a gottam or two. We definitely need to get more people on the forums here together for doing stuff like this. We had fun, but we could have had much more with more MLPforumers (MLPforumites?) with us.
  11. Hahaha, Fox news. Probably the pinnacle of ignorance on television. I'm not really worried about this making bronies look bad. Everyone with half a brain knows that Fox just does crap like this to get attention. If it's a group they can target, they will. The fact the video has so many dislikes kinda gives me faith in humanity at least.
  12. Good medics are getting rarer, especially with all the lame F2Pers* who think that spamming rockets down hallways = skill. Nobody wants to go medic when there's nobody skilled enough worth keeping alive. *I don't find all F2Pers lame. I'm talking about the ones who aren't good at all at the game and refuse to get better, AKA noobs.
  13. To each their own. Depends on the situation which is more needed anyway. Sometimes combat engies are needed, sometimes turtle engies.
  14. I trust you use the Frontier Justice with it? I used to love that combo for a long time before I had quit for a while. Getting revenge crit kills is so satisfying.
  15. Sadly, I can't think of any real way to solve this little issue, since there is no location that everyone on the planet is an equal distance from, and I can't see anyone making a server in the center of the earth. Still, we shouldn't let that get in the way of little get-togethers. Anyway, anypony interested in TF2-ing sometime add me on Steam.
  16. The official Team Fortress 2 Thread What is it? Team Fortress 2 is a popular team-based FPS developed and published by Valve, and available for PC Valve's digital distribution service and client, Steam. Since June 23 2011, Team Fortress 2 has gone "Free to play" meaning a person can play the game without paying for it, but can purchase various weapons (which can be obtained through crafting/at random while playing) and hats and paints (most of which can be obtained without purchasing). Where do I get it? Through Steam. Download the Steam client through the website, and then through the client download Team Fortress 2. Note that if you have never actually purchased a game on Steam, you cannot make use of some features, such as the chat function. Don't worry, you can still use the in-game chat functions and such. What are my penalties for being a free player? How do I stop being a free player? Free player abilities/Premium abilites. Only hold 50 items in their backpack / can hold 300. Only craft "Standard" items / doesn't have crafting restricted. Can receive items in trades, but only trade away items they received in trades / can trade freely. Can only be the recipient of a "Gift-wrapped" item" / can send and receive "Gift-wrapped" items. You can upgrade your account by simply buying something from the in game store, the "Mann. Co Store". There is no subscription fee. Okay, I've got the game downloaded and know all that. How do I join a game? As a beginner, you may first want to practice. The game has a easy-to-access offline practice mode with varying difficulties of computer-controlled players, and some class-specific practice modes. Play around with those for a while, get a feel for everything. Once you feel comfortable playing, use the server browser, or try the lazy way and clicking the large "Play now" button to connect to a Valve server. Scootacool/Key Gear's Edit 4/12/2012: Decided to improve this thread due to it's popularity. Artemis' Edit 4/09/2013: Removed MLP Forums server info on the basis that the server no longer exists.
  17. Welcome to the forums, Rad. I hope your experience here is... wait for it... radical. With that terrible joke of mine out of the way, make yourself at home. We're friendly here, so making friends here won't be difficult at all.
  18. Ordinary Lego > Bionicle > interest dead is about how it went with me, too. Kinda funny, I've walked down the aisle they're on, and while they have these elaborate detailed pieces, the sets themselves don't really look as cool as they used to. Either quality went down or I'm too old to judge the awesomeness of Lego sets.
  19. I intend to do as much as I can to avoid previous generations. Pretty much, Friendship is Magic took some elements from the previous generations, added better writing, animation, art style and voice acting. I feel like seeing more of the previous generation stuff than I have (Vaguely remember seeing minutes of previous generation stuff years ago, been a long time) will "taint" the current generation stuff for me.
  20. One that's not quite as common, but I still see fairly often, sometimes even in published books is... Horde and Hoard. Normally I'm willing to let a lot of issues slide, but that just really gets me. No, you do not have a horde of potions, you have a hoard of potions.
  21. We're all bronies here, you won't be bullied or kicked out of here you like the show. You came to the right place. I dislike grimdark was well. With that out of the way, welcome to the forums BodaciousBigMac. Stick around, have fun, discuss ponies, all those good things.
  22. Yep. I mean, references like that are kinda innapropriate if you think about the target demographic and stuff. Outright banning any reference at all to them, like just mentioning by name would be too far in my opinion though. But eh, I think I'm starting to drift into backseat moderating. I'll leave my input in this thread at that.
  23. I'm talking about straight-up references to the fics, not subtle little jokes.
  24. Just curious, about the NSFW content thing: Do references to certain infamous fanfics (Cupcakes and Sweet Apple Massacre to name a couple) fall under that? I only ask because people mention them fairly frequently in the chat.
  25. Don't mind the rest of the people in this thread. They're bad spellers and can't spell Twilight Sparkle right. Welcome to the forums. Your story on how you become one of the herd is a common one (Well, not down the the exact detail but you get the idea). Make yourself at home. You should fit in around here no problem, though I really can't imagine someone not fitting in around here as long as they like ponies.
