I don't mind tracing, but be sure to eventually do some own poses and draw freehandely in the future and not only post traced pictures .

Personally im more for the original drawing than the edited one. It has way too bright colors.

Thanks man! Yes a lava salmander would be a fitting description of the creature. It's official name is Volcanic tunneler because it uses it's great sharp claws to dig tunnels.

Just recently finished an old challenge from CGhub forums in which you get a name of a creature and from that you have to create some non-humanoid creature. The name of the creature was like the title, "Volcanic Tunneler" Enjoy!

Snowdrops link is probably the best tip for learning. Ponies are fun to draw but they can get problematic at times (THESE %#&@ NOSES!)

Fair enough, though sloppy drawings does not necessarily mean that it's worthless if it only has a sense of content. Like Concept artists work for example.

I suggest that you get a scanner, increases the quality a whole lot : ) I really like the shading but i'm not very fond of realistic styled ponies... So i will rest my critics D:

I'm a newcomer to the forums and saw this thread now, i hate to bring up old threads i just felt a little bit of anger. Why's there so much commotion about a traced image..?(Or not traced if it weren't, but IF...) Let him/her have fun instead of being nagged on. You shouldn't discourage someone who just started with something creative.

I don't understand why there isn't any more comments here... This is really great : )I love the little smirk+ wink she gives. Really colorful, she feels kinda "retro" with all these colors, which is a good thing! I love retro! : ) The lack of shadows (except the skirt) makes it even better in my opinion. Why can't i come up with these things haha. Again, lovely. I wish you had more comments : ) Edit: Oh posted today! Nevermind i guess, all the comments will come flooding : D

Oh, really great! I especially love the one with RD for the background. hmm, though i must say. The shading makes the ponies look wrinkly at some parts. And RD's eye seems a little bit out of place. Oh, right... Sorry if you don't like criticism D:. I just wanted to say what i had on my mind...

Yeah hi, i'm a 21 year old Male from Sweden. I'm studying at an institute, into an "Technical Artist"... in short, i do both programming and 3D modeling. Uhmm, i'm often shy around new people when i talk with them orally. Though i don't have a problem talking with people while writing... Uh... What else? - Well, I love to draw... Therefore i draw ponies of course. I drew the pony you see in my avatar. - I love fighting games, therefore i'm excited for the release of Fighting is Magic ~. - I love all kinds of music genres, i can't really tell what i'll like or not if you mention a genre to me. - Even though i take courses in programming, i in fact hate Programming haha, i just felt it was a great way to tell what i want in life. And that is to draw of course . Uh, questions will be answered... I can't think of anything else to say. Again, excited to be here!
