Hasbro (sort of) don't sell MLP on iTunes in Australia?

Hi!

For a while now, I've been wondering, as a while back I tried to purchase My Little Pony from iTunes, and apparently, it's not available in my country (Australia). I assume this would happen in other countries too.

I was forced to illegally (sorry Hasbro, I didn't want to) download My Little Pony.

 

Why would Hasbro be missing out on such an opportunity to not sell in more countries, Australia as far as I'm aware does have a *substantial* amount of bronies and MLP fans.

 

I found out recently I can buy the old episodes, but only one-by-one, and new episodes don't appear to show up.

 

Why???

Not exactly unusual for Australia. I'd happily pay to watch things on Netflix too, except wait - we don't get Netflix either.   

 

I guess the population of Australia is small enough that our market is considered more or less irrelevant to American companies. It's absolute bullshit. Media owners go on and on about how piracy is killing them, yet they don't make these things available to purchase, and when they do it's months later and at a ridiculously inflated cost! And then to rub salt in the wound, they region-lock our blu-ray and DVD players so we can't even buy things online and import them.

 

If I can't actually purchase your product on time and at a reasonable cost and quality, don't be surprised when I obtain it by other means. You know, step one of making money off a product is to actually sell it to everyone who wants to spend money on it. Crazy, I know.
