Bronies shouldn't be disliked just because of what their interest in MLP FIM. Whether your a pony or brony everyone should be respected.

No, hmm.. how do i put it, Yes, you have the right to defend it, But i know i keep using this but ''Because it has great animation'' Is that a reason to watch an entire show? I do not mean to say that, I am trying to say that you should not try to make petty excuses. i am sure there are better animations(Remember, Someone is always better, In this case, Something.)

If 'the animation was good' was the only real argument, then I'd agree with you, but it's not. The animation is quite literally only one of many professionally well-done aspects of the show. Realistic characters that have both faults and strengths that allow you to identify with them, plots that are interesting and don't want to make your eyes blow up of boredom, humor that varies in types and degrees, that reaches to any generation and age group, etc. I could go on and on, trust me, and I'm sure if you searched hard enough you could find entire topics on this board explaining why people like it that goes out in all directions, all of which make perfect sense, and are mostly all true if not completely then to a slightly lesser extent.

 

I'm glad you remain neutral, and you're absolutely right, the minority always sticks out and do make everyone else look bad. It's too bad most people decide to hate the fanbase as a whole anyway, and don't bother to look a little deeper into it before passing judgement. Oh, silly humans. Thanks by the way for being agreeable, it's truly wonderful to find someone not on your side, even if neutral, who is willingly to have actual discussion, and not just shove their opinion on people without acknowledging the other aside :3

 

As for why bronies are hated so much, it's probably due to how fast, how hard, and how wide-spread this show has become. The more popular something becomes, the more hate it inevitably gets. That doubles when it happens really, really fast.

Reasons why Bronies are disliked:

 

1. Society demands boys like this (Football, guns, cars) and girls like this(dolls, horses, rainbows) , or be a social outcast for the fact they don't want to let outdated gender stereotypes and "tradition" leave.

 

2. We are misunderstood, the way mainstream media looks at us, they do it wrong. Yahoo, IMO, made their article on Bronycon sound more like a gay pride parade. (no offense intended to anybody that is gay). Therefore, getting people to hate us more.

 

3. Most people don't known there is a new MLP, they think we watch godawful G3 and G3.5, not a very well animated cartoon.

 

4. Finally, society has no desire to move forward, especially American society, wanting to act like nothing is wrong in the world, acting like its the 50s or 60s, and then our elders just look down too much on us nowadays.

Sure they're all opinions but they're vastly accepted opinions, because all the things I mentioned are very well-pulled off. No, not everyone will appreciate them because they do have different tastes, but the show does a lot of well-done aspects, of which are vastly appreciated by a lot of people. Then there's the fanbase itself, which has produced endless original music pieces, art, fiction and other art that are often appreciated by even non-bronies, who often, at the very least, give their props to the fanbase for being very talented, even if they themselves don't care for the show. As a frequent commenter and viewer of Youtube, I can't tell you how many times I've seen those sort of comments. 'I heard this song at a dance club with my boyfriend, and I'm pretty sure no one there knew about this MLP show, but everyone loved this song!' was a comment on 'Discord', the Eurobeat mix.

I don't think you'd be labeled a hater not. be professional, have explanations, and don't be a jerk or bluntly insult things, and people will most definitely be willing to have a thoughtful discussion about your opinion. Unless they're the minority, the immature part of the fanbase, whom of which you wouldn't want to be having a discussion with in the first place.

 

Eh, the love and tolerate thing believe it or not is not a universal thing. Many bronies don't even agree with it completely, and have a different approach to the idea. Not to say they're jerks or trolls who don't want to appreciate other people's opinions, or at the very least, not insult it, they just don't think the term should be used all the time to represent the fanbase's overall attitude, or other things.

Now this is my view of bronies: The majority are normal, The 40 precent are spammers, and 20 precent (.. No pun intended.) are sick perverts. Meaning that 30% make chaos on the internet making the other sane 70% look bad.

People should not hate bronies "because some people are cloppers". Yes, it's a minority,but it's' not a bad one. Instead of being open about their habits, they keep to themselves. I can't recall someone ever spamming something with R34. So a whole community shouldn't be hated just because a small minority of the people like something different.

I will admit, probably my biggest problem since becoming a fan of the show (and thakkfully this is only with the handful of friends and family that I've shared it with, but still, it's something I need to control), is talking about the show too much. Granted, this has always been a problem of mine with, well, really anything that I'm obsessed with, but still, I'd agree that the biggest problem of this community is trying to shove too much MLP down other peoples' throats, even if we're simply naive or well-intentioned in the process. I seriously do have to check myself and make sure I don't talk too much MLP around my sister, because so far, she really likes the show, but I do worry that if I talk about it too much, it would drive her away from it. So, in conclusion, I think it is a fair warning too all bronies that we shouldn't try to shove MLP down non-bronies throats too much. After all, we don't want to be responsible for the creation of any haters, now, do we?

Well on a personal note, Im going on a plane trip for hours long to turkey, And i want to be tired so i can sleep in the plane so im staying up all night. So i aint sleeping brah! Hehehe.

 

Now, i have hundreds of brony e-mails because i state my opinion mostly about bronies, Wich sometimes are negative(Spammers, Etc etc) And sometimes positive(Like you.) Now most of the spammers, Spam me wich really annoys me. Either way, I have a more positive view now, Thank you. I hope you learned some stuff too.

 

This really offends me.

I am not a "sick pervert".

People should not hate bronies "because some people are cloppers". Yes, it's a minority,but it's' not a bad one. Instead of being open about their habits, they keep to themselves. I can't recall someone ever spamming something with R34. So a whole community shouldn't be hated just because a small minority of the people like something different.

 

Also, I am sorry what i said about agitating me i misunderstood. And no, I dont care if your a clopper, or not, But can you say 100% Surely it has not happened? Ever? and i do not mean it like that, i meant the spammers and ''Cloppers'' Combined. meaning 25% are spammers and 5% cloppers, Including the parody videos from weird bronies i see on youtube. And ill edit that too.

I think 60% of the people who dislike bronies really have no good reason, they are just teenagers with the narrow-minded view that anything titled My Little Pony is only for young girls to watch and don't understand how someone from their age group could possibly like it.

 

The other 40% I believe comes from people who really don't give a shit crap either way, but are tired of seeing an abundance of pony-related stuff on a non-pony related forum.

Also a lot (but not all) bronies try to automatically defend their love for the show by shoving facts and reasons MLP is awesome down the throats of people who really don't care if or why you are a brony.

 

 

*Sigh* Why can't everypony just love everypony else? Then the world would be perfect...

I think I was a little "ignorant" in saying that there is no R34 spam.

But generally, not as much people would ever see R34 thrown at them, outside of adult websites.
