Why didn't Pinkie's tail/mane deflate in Pinkie Pride?

When she was going through the whole being depressed over CS taking her spotlight phase? It is something I have always been curious about, especially during the "Pinkie's Lament" song.

Pinkie Pie has been sad quite a few times after "Party of One" and her mane didn't deflate. Really, that was probably just the gag for that episode and it isn't something that happens every time Pinkie Pie gets sad. Besides, she learned to deal with sadness without going mentally insane after that episode I think. I'll count that as part of the lesson she learned and why her mane didn't ever deflate from sadness afterwards, such as in "Pinkie Pride".

Maybe her mane only deflates at the exceptionally sad moments, where even her own sanity is put to the test. So it could be that. The feeling and the amount of sorrow can cause Pinkie's mane to deflate, though in this episode it only deflates a little.

The level of sorrow in "Pinkie Pie Pride" was no where near the sorrow of "Party of One". 

 

In Pinkie Pie Pride she just figured 'eh maybe im not the best party pony,but ill still try!' in Party of One she was like 'my friends don't give a crap about me anymore,time to befriend rocks'.

 

There is a massive difference in the level of sadness and agitation/anger Pinkie Pie felt between those two episodes.

I think the shock of her thinking she lost her friends in party of one was too much for her, more than what she had experienced in Pinkie pride..

The only other episode I can think of that her mane deflates a little is the one her sister Maud is in. It's when the other 5 tell her they don't think they are friends with Maud, so they can't make the special necklaces. This causes her to make the cracked-out obstacle course that almost kills her.

It was also fully deflated in Magical Mystery Cure when she was working the farm at Sweet Apple Acres.

 

I have to agree that it is probably tied to Pinkie at her lowest moments. I have a feeling that if Pinkie wasn't stopped by her friends in Pinkie Pride, her hair would be straight within an hour of leaving Ponyville.

I don't know, in the episode her tail/mane somewhat deflated as what Sunny Fox said. But I think her tail/mane deflate when something most saddest thing that will ever happened to her.
