Tempest groaned as he woke up and found that Gale was curled around him. The bat pony smiled as he heard voices. "I wonder who that is." He said, slowly trotting up the cave. When he saw Clayton, he looked him over for a few seconds, before leaning against a wall. "This thing all things devour: Birds, beasts trees flowers;  Gnaws iron, bites steel: Grinds hard stones to meal: Slays kings, ruins towns, And beats high mountains down." He said. If this unicorn really was Clayton, then he would know the answer. Tempest then glanced at Lucid. "I assume that you aren't a Changeling?"

Lucid was offended that somepony would even think that he was a Changeling.

"Me?" he replied, "I am most certainly not a scum-of-Equestria Changeling."

 

"Well, at least we know he probably must be against Changelings based on the tone he asked me... And if he didnt attack us we could be safe," he thought to himself.

 

He looked over to Clayton, noticed that the unicorn looked as if he knew this pony calling him. He didn't know if this was good news or bad news.

As Skater made her way to the cave she noticed two unfamiliar ponies she hadn't seen before. She paused for a second wondering if it was a good time to enter in or not. She overheard their talk about how much they hated changelings. She hung down her head and lifted her cloak to see her fake cutie mark it looked normal until it quickly turned into a black changeling heart and then changed back. Skater put her cloak back down and sighed. She then lifted her head up and started to walk into the cave. "I found two strangers. Trench said you told him to come here and Shroud is his friend." she said to Tempest interrupting the previous conversation. She then took off her hood. "Who are you?" she asked Lucid and Clayton.

Clayton smirked as as Tempest spoke. "The answer to that, my friend, would be time." He said. The unicorn then glanced at Skater. "My name would be Clayton, my dear. The pony next to me is Lucid." Clayton then turned his attention back to the bat pony that gave him the riddle.

Shroud knitted his eyebrows and frowned at Trench. "I told you I never met him, he ain't my friend alright?" he said harshly before turning to Tempest. "Look yo, I only need a place to stay for like, two nights. Then I'm out of Equestria fo good. I can offer some supplies as payment but after that I'm gone yo."

 

((I would like to mention that neither Skater or Trench Club know for sure that Vibrant and Shroud are the same seeing as Trench wasn't there when he transformed and Skater did not get any name other than Shroud. You could argue that he had the supplies from Ponyville, but since Trench gave supplies back to the people and Tempest released most of the prisoners it is entirely plausible that another renegade changeling escaped and picked up supplies before running into the forest. Also Vibrant and Shroud seem like complete polar opposites in every way, so linking the two without proof in nigh impossible.))

Tempest smiled slightly and nodded. "It's good to see you, old friend." He said, before glancing at Skater. "That I did. I paid a little visit to Ponyville and freed a few ponies." The bat pony then turned his attention back to Clayton. "So, how have you been. The last time I saw you was when Ivy and I got married."

 Trench didn't pay attention to Vibrant/Shroud as he walked into the cave behind Skater after leaving his cart outside.  He looked around at the many faces in the cave with an even look. He over heard the blue unicorn stallion with glasses vent his anger over changelings. Trench would a agree but now that he met two changeling he didn't think they were all bad. Then he looked over to the bat pony he sew in Ponyville. Trench never liked being in big groups. As he stayed quiet he thought of sneaking away. He worked better alone anyway.

He turned to this new pony that was addressing them.

 

"Who are you?" she asked Lucid and Clayton.

 

 

Lucid jumped as he saw the unicorn approach him, "O-oh, my name is Lucid Dream. I mean no harm," he said

He turned to Clayton as he saw that he knew this pony that first addressed both of them. He felt a little more safe.

As he turned and looked around he saw that now there were many new ponies. He didn't know how to feel about this, but he straightened up and eyed them all.

Clayton nodded slightly and smiled. "It certainly has been a long time." He said. The unicorn then glanced around and looked at everypony. "So, I guess this is some sort of refuge for those who have survived so far." The unicorn then shrugged and turned his attention back to Tempest. "I know you well enough to know that you have a plan, so what is it?"

Frost kept his head low listening to the others. Well it seems this place is a hot spot for every piny who survived this far...strange. He thought to himself scanning all the other ponies over. He stayed silent as they spike but kept a friendly smile on his face. Frost started to regain feeling in his leg, apparently the blood flow was closer to normal now. He started to stand slowly using the wall as a support, he didn't want to seem weak in front of the others. "I'm Frost, it's good to meet you all." He said with a smile as he finally got to his hooves

"I know you well enough to know that you have a plan, so what is it?"

 

 

Lucid looked over to  Clayton, "Plan? For what?" he said. He hoped that this didn't mean new trouble right after he just ran away from bandits.

 

 

He looked over to Frost who was walking toward him.

 

 

 

"I'm Frost, it's good to meet you all." He said with a smile as he finally got to his hooves

 

"Umm... Hi," he said to the white unicorn. He eyed him over then looked away.

Tempest smirked slightly and simply nodded. "That I do Clayton." He said. "War is coming, and I'm going to need ponies who are willing to fight against Chrysalis, Nightmare Moon, and Sombra." He said. "We'll also need to rally the citizens of Equestria and the crystal ponies behind our cause, which shouldn't be to hard." The bat pony then glanced around the cave and sighed. "I wouldn't blame any of you if you didn't want to join, but I'm trying to do what I think is best for Equestria and her allies. Just know that you can stay here, no matter what."

Skater listened intently as Tempest gave a basic plan of what he intended on doing. Then, her mind trailed off when he mentioned conquering Chrysalis. That was her kind. She knew that the changelings and Chrysalis had conquered parts of Equestria, but she felt like she would be betraying her origins. She felt like it was wrong. Chrysalis was technically her mother. O course, she was the mother of pretty much all the changelings. That's how hives worked. "but, they banished you." Skater said to herself becoming more angry. "Mothers are supposed to be caring, but she hated you and didn't even give a crap about you." she continued convincing herself. "I'm in." Skater was the first to say with stepping forward with confidence and a fire in her eyes.

Shroud looked around at the ponies in the room. 'This is too many, not to mention Trench already suspects me and they are planning a raid on the changelings. I need to get out before I get swept in to deep' he thought urgently, sighing he turned towards Tempest. "Hey man, I support what you're doin' and all, but I ain't gonna get wrapped up in a one sided war against bugs, okay?" He said masking the nervousness in his voice. He threw one of the bags at Tempest's hooves, "take that, you'll need it more than I will." With that Shroud turned an walked out of the cave, back into the sticky Everfree.

 

He had only been walking a short while when the scent of changeling once again found him. Assuming it was another rogue he kept walking, however this one quickly became much closer and much stronger. Suddenly the forest around Shroud became alive with the buzzing of gossamer wings and he quickly realized he had walked into the middle of a changeling platoon.

Frost stayed propped against the wall listening carefully to what Tempest had to say, in Frosts own opinion it seemed like a long shot even with the group they had which he didn't even know if there was any battle experience in them, except Tempest. Yet he knew that just sitting around and complaining about it would never get Equestria anywhere just make it worse, he would rather die trying to take Equestria back than die in this horrid new world knowing he could have done something. "I'm in too." He said weak smile "I do owe you and Gale for saving my life after all." He added with a bow of his head in gratitude

Skater watched as Shroud left the cave obviously not interested in fighting changelings. Suddenly, she tensed up and her ears perked forward. Something really bad was on it's way. She could sense the changelings closing in and she knew Shroud could sense it too. there must have been and entire swarm. Skater knew she had to jump into action. "Guys, brace yourselves, something bad is about to happen!" she said so everypony could hear her. She didn't want to be too specific and give away her secret. She jumped in front of the group and stood at the mouth of the cave trying to give off every hateful feeling she had hoping it would repel them.

Lucid was about to break from pressure and say "Oh fine! You only live once, Celestia needs our help!" When he heard what the mare had just said. He had no time to get to know the ponies he just met, but now he knew they where pure of heart. He looked at the cave entrance and began charging his horn. He needed to do his best to protect himself and his new companions. Excitement, adrenaline, fear and determination filling him.

A few of the changlings glanced at shroud and shot bolts of green flame at him, while the others continued on. They wouldn't take any prisoner, even if it was one of their own.

 

Tempest smirked slightly. He hadn't expected this much acceptance of his idea and sighed. "Ok, then. Gale already said she was ok with joining, so all that leaves is you, Clay." He said, turning his attention to said unicorn.

Luckily the first bolt only skimmed Shroud'd shoulder as he backpedaled away from the wall of chitinous bodies. They second bolt wasn't so forgiving however, and in a flash two front legs became one and a half. The pain didn't even register until the third bolt picked him and threw him hard against a tree, leaving only an oozy crater in the place of his ribcage and the stench of burnt flesh in the air. Changeling ichor dripped from his lips as he struggled to raise his head to look upon the oncoming hive, instead all he saw was a flare of green light as the fourth and final bolt met his face. Then there was darkness.

((Yes Shroud/Vibrant/Aura is dead and yes this will be my last post. Sorry but this RP has not kept my interest and I am involved in too many others to continue it. Goodbye.))

Skater could feel the death of a changeling. She knew it was probably Shroud, and hoped it wasn't. She knew she would have a large, strong group of vicious changeling on top of the group in seconds. "Everypony, get ready to fight!" she commanded. "It's about to get really crazy here." Her heart was racing. Skater hoped the changelings wouldn't give away her true self.
