West Philadelphia born and raised I believe it goes.

Actually, no ghetto here. Though whenever I mention I'm from Philly I expect people have their preconceived notions about the City because I am occasionally asked if it was 'rough' growing up there.

Sigh

I have like no money, am in the process of getting out of some illegal involvements, am in a relatively ghetto area, and used to steal and stuff.

That count?

Just editing my signature to say that my behavior on here was cringe. I don't regret the friends i made but man i was cringe here

Yup. Lived in the ghetto my whole life. People popping caps at each other, people rolling down the street with the doors wide open blasting music at 2 AM, constant shouting and arguing, etc. all present in my neighborhood.

Actually, yes! I live in a ghetto community. It's not uncommon to hear loud music blasting in the early hours of the night. Sometimes you hear a gunshot or two, and you can get awoken by helicopters looking for someone. The houses are mostly crap, and sometimes when you're walking down the street you can smell the foul weed smell. There's also a lot of gang violence- in fact, my high school was the same high school a famous gang creator went to!

It's not all bad though. You get used to the noise. Plus, thanks to being an underprivileged child, I'm going to college mostly for free. ;)

'Tis the truth. I've heard such a copious amount of rap music that I've grown to like it myself. At least It's interesting to wake up to Jay-Z's "99 Problems But a Bitch Ain't One" rather than silence.

We had live gunfire across the street from where I live during Christmas Eve, right when we were opening presents, not to mention the Jugoslav mafia (Yup.) controlled club right behind the restaurant I usually visit.

.. Yeah, it's pretty ghetto where I live.

I used to live in a really ghetto area of my town near the shore. There was a lot of knife crime down there and it wasn't unusual to see the odd person walking down the street with glasgow smile scars. People used to have rumbles in the streets with planks of wood with nails sticking out of them. I moved to the other side of town near a park where everything is a little more peaceful, and i'm glad I did.
