Police in Equestria

In the latest comic, it's been shown that Manehattan has a police force, the MPD! So, what about the rest of Equestria?

I did not know they had a police force. Anyway, Ponyville is too small and does not seem to have a police force. Canterlot is protected by the Royal Guards so no police there.

 

I don't know about the other places.

Comics aren't canon with the show, and I don't know if police would be in both universes. Are you asking about in the comics, or show. There is a chance in which there could be police in one universe and not in another.

He could have a horn under that hat, or maybe he has a wife. It could be clip on or just attached to the shirt.

Unlikely. Ponies wouldn't have a militia. They would have a princess who checks on everything and lives in a library.

We can't be sure because that is not canon but I don't think that Twilight stays as a police officer to guard the village. Though everyone should be scared of her.

I said they would. They don't have to. Let Celestia make her own decisions. And good law enforcers enforce laws by being kind and making everyone want to respect and follow the law.

In Pinkie Pride, Cheese Sandwich is in a lineup in a police station with a couple cops.

Huh Déjà vu, funny I recall of another person starting up a thread asking about the Police of Ponyville (if they existed or not).  That was an old thread if I recall, (some months ago, one of the earlier threads i posted in, can't find it now).

 

That same picture from Cheeses' song was also brought up to signify that maybe some police exist in Equestria.  Others looked at that considered it too much of a visual gag to be taken seriously. 

 

I honestly don't know if a police force exists in Ponyville (apparently they exist in the comics' canon in Manehattan)

 

Again, royal guards (but they only seem to go where Princess Celestia resides and so that seems to only be Canterlot)

 

Appleloosa has Sheriff Silverstar,

 

The Crystal Empire has, I guess the Royal Crystal guard? (Probably like Canterlot Royal Guard, they only go where Princess Cadance goes)

I think a lot of time we may catch glimpses of human professions, but that doesn't mean they exit in the same way or have the same role in Equestria. The artists and writers just like to layer their world and make it familiar yet different. Now certain areas may have a police force, but it appears that Equestria has little crime.
