Which drawing tablet to buy?

I wasn't sure where to put this so i'm just making the topic here. I was only wondering what drawing tablet do you use or recommend? I'm looking from moving to digital art instead of pencil and paper and would like to have some input on what you use. Im currently looking toward getting the wacom bamboo splash model.

this could go to the media discussion section, but okay.

I don't see why the cheapest wouldn't do the job. and that one iirc is the cheapest model. that's the one I'd buy if I were to buy one right now.

I'll be on the #! forums if you want me.

i havent used the splash, but i did start on the wacom bamboo fun, which wasnt horribly expensive and it worked wonderfully for me when i started out.  i actually gave it away to a friend of mine who went to college for video game design xD its bright blue but hes still using it haha. (the pen does rattle and feel a little cheap, but i promise its durable)

From what i have read. The wacom tablets are probably the best and most affordable drawing tablets for beginners. That's what i decided to go for.

I am using a Wacom Intuos. I really like it. It works great and comes with some free programs too. I will be using this tablet for a long time to come.

So yeah, you really can't go wrong with Wacom.

This is my story as well.  Got a Bamboo tablet shortly after high school, got a Cintiq 12WX during college and have used it ever since (sold the Bamboo to a classmate).
