Myths about alicorns

So, from what i've been reading in social networks, forums and Internet about Twilight becoming an alicorn and alicorns in MLP universe, I've collected two theories about alicorns that apply to her:

 

1. It was said that Twilight will live young and healthy while her friends die from old, but I've read that only borned alicorns live thousands of years, Twilight is converted so she will have a normal life cycle.

 

2. Twilight can still lose her wings if she for instance quits from being a Princess.

 

Could they be true or false?

Twilight is like Cadence. She's a psuedo-alicorn. Same powers of an alicorn however they weren't born with them so they can still age although they can effect it to a degree with their magic. They are not however biologically immortal like true alicorns like Celestia & Luna.

Celestia and Luna were never immortal. Their book confirmed that they age really slowly. Also thinking about if Twilight outlive her friends or if Discord outlive Fluttershy is silly. Show will never get them even remotely old. Have you seen Pokemon? Ash is still 10 even if he should be at least 16. Same goes with FiM. They will never tell us their age so we woud't count their days. Until last episode they will remain in same age as in first episode. Even Granny Smith will be around though she should have her funeral episode long time ago.

Well we will never know for sure but it has been confirmed that she will NOT outlive her friends but they said nothing about her having a normal life cycle and I'm gonna take it she is gonna be stuck with her wings

 

however I do NOT think Twilight is immortal (they are also said by Celestia's and Luna's took they age at a slow rate) I was just saying that it is at least possible...

 

 

I prefer to think Celestia/Luna immortal (not because I want them to be over the top amazing) but that it just for some reason feels right for a ruler of Equestria so I will keep it that way in mind.

Twilight will live a normal life, or all the mane 6's lives will be extended because of their direct bonds to the elements of harmony.

 

Twilight will not lose her wings if she wishes not to be a princess. Alicorns exist other places, but only in Equestria do they take up royal leadership. Twilight could up it and leave Equestria and still be an Alicorn.

The direct Alicorn bloodline in Equestria seems to have disappeared, as no pure male Alicorns exist (go ahead and giggle) to continue the bloodline directly. Going by that, true Alicorns in Equestria are extinct.

Pretty much, so it's safe to say that Celestia & Luna will eventually grow old and meet death at a VERY later time. Probably by then Equestria will revert to a democratic republic or socialist state unless there are other true alicorns we don't know about.

I already percieved thanks to what they said on the MLP FIM Hasbro staff, that Twilight will NOT outlive her friends.

 

But I like the idea of a fact being established, that unless you are 'born' an alicorn, you won't have immortality as an alicorn if you turn into one. I really like that explanation.

 

So Luna and Celestia are born alicorns. Cadence and Twilight were given to gift to transform into one. So they have alicorn powers but not alicorn immortality. This makes total sense to me.

 

And considering that Celestia and Luna in a sense, need to have immortality, otherwise there will be no alicorns around to rise or lower the sun or moon.

All alicorns or just born alicorns, because if Twilight and Cadance age slow theres a bit of a problem here.

Twilight was manipulated into becoming a Princess, and Cadance defeated some sort of wizard pony if that storybook is to be considered canon. I don't see why no longer being a princess would do anything.

Because of magic! Magic can remove and put physical attributes to any pony, Discord did that too by removing wings to pegasi and horns to unicorns, Twilight wasn't born with wings, they were placed at a grown-up stage with magic, they can perfectly go as they came.

Also have you seen any civilian alicorn in MLP?

Yes, I believe this will happen, but I don't know how they could pull off this on the show, because it's pretty dark.

Technically, Twilight at an older age could just cast an age spell on her and her friends to make them young again, or just get Celestia or Luna to do it. It's not like there'd be any repercussions or anything...

I think that tweet is just more because the show will not address that topic. Wasted potential as that is.

 

However we've seen that Celestia was around and looking just the same when Granny Smith was young, and the flashback potion to a thousand years ago revealed similar applying to both Celestia and Luna.

 

So even if alicorns aren't strictly immortal, they age so slowly that their's hardly a practical difference. Both Twilight and Cadence became Alicorns through a sort of accomplishment. Celestia and Luna may have done similar, or they are actually descended from a higher form of being.

 

Taking a cue from Tolkien, the various Wizards were actually guardian angels bound to mortal form. Both Celestia and Luna could be something similar, bound to being "mere" alicorns when their actual nature is something far greater.
