im not sure if this is the right thread for this but what happened in G3?

I hear a lot about how bad G3 was but never why it was bad.

Generations 3 and 3.5 are disliked so much by a lot of fans because the concept of the show was just ridiculous. It was aimed strictly for little girls (which is fine). But, the characters were expressed as stereotypes.

For example, all the ponies were either obsessed with fashion, obsessed with the color pink, and silly stuff like that. It was so bad, that it's even embarrassing to think about for some fans.

 

Not to mention the designs. They weren't... "horrendous", but the G4 designs make the G3 ones look pretty... weird.

 

Here are some examples of what I mean:

 

G3.5 RainbowDash (all G3.5 ponies were designed with huge heads).

G3 pony designs

 

Frightening.. Right?

 

So.. Overall, generation 3 can be painful to watch because it was just so... I don't know how to put it. You may have to watch it to decide for yourself.

There are a ton of other topics on G3 and G3.5 around the forum such as this one.  I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread, but feel free to look around at the other G3 threads and post your thoughts there.
