I think that most be arn't mad because it's an exclusive for the Xbone. They're mad because the game is an exclusive to a single console. The is especially so because the first Tomb Raider remake was available for all platforms, and now it's sequel can only be played on one. I think the backlash would be just as big if it could only be on the PS4.

From what I've read, there appears to be hope that the exclusive rights only apply to launch/holiday season.

 

Otherwise, this is a real BS move. I've followed Tomb Raider from the very beginning, always playing it on a PS until the recent reboot which I played on PC since I don't really console game anymore. I own every Nintendo, Sony, M$ console up to this generation. And so far I have not seen a point to buy any of the 3 current systems.

 

Whoever is making decisions for the divisions at M$ clearly has their head so far up you-know-where that they can't see anything but their own ideas and greed. W8 is failing, they did away with a traditional version of Office, Surface tablets are failing, Windows Phone is failing, the Zune sadly already came and went, and now the XB is failing. At this point, I'd be lying if I said anything other than "I hope M$ crashes and burns with all their recent failures lately and then pulling moves like this". I can understand exclusives, but those should only be for series that started out/were made for one system. They shouldn't be able to bribe companies to make a game that is meant for all an exclusive in hopes of boosting their console sales.

 

With the prices of consoles anymore, not to mention how very similar they are now, Sony and M$ would be wise to just combine forces and make one ultimate console honestly. I'm sorry, but in order to buy both consoles you could build a pretty nice PC, more powerful than them both, instead

Atsushi Inaba state the Bayonetta2 would not exist if it wasn't for Nintendo since Sega had decided to stop publishing game title  after 7.1 billion yen lost. 

 

I find it kinda of funny, when Sony when done some it okay, Such as  they saying remove the PS4 DRM, people was okay with it yet it been stated that it was going to have DRM just like Xbox One.

 

When Microsoft remove it DRM, people wasn't satisfied when they was complaining like hell about it.

I'm all for consoles having first-party exclusives, but for third-parties? Hmmm... nah. There really is no reason to make this Xbox-exclusive, since I don't see how this can't run on other systems. I don't get Square Enix's descision, because Tomb Raider has been multi-plat for the last ten years and that's worked out well, so why go exclusive now?

 

But honestly, we'll most likely see a port to the other systems in a couple months after the Xbone version launches.

Square Enix is the publisher, not the developer, Crystal Dynamics are the developers.

Well thats a relief but i still think its pretty shitty of them to do a timed thing to a series that has always been a pride of multi platforms. And i still think im going to pass on it now because of how easy it is for CD to force 60 to 70% of its fan base to have to wait. This is like if the next avengers movie came out in canada 6 months ahead if the US, half of the fan base would have to spend 6 months avouding every kind of spoiler. Its not fair to their pc and playstation fans. And i dont think they deserve pur support anymore.

I laugh at the delicious tears of people complaining about any game being exclusive. Exclusives are better than multiplats any day. They give us reason to have more than one console and more often than not an exclusive is built with that particular console's power and strengths in mind so it performs better overall than any multiplat would.

 

I hate the fact that the PS3 and 360 shared like 90% of their library. I didn't need a 360 at all until the last year or two when there was more exclusive games. I hate the fact that the Wii-U is getting too many ports from PS3 and 360 rather than exclusive and original games simply because it has the power to do so.

 

Fuck multiplats. Exclusivity is the way to go.

I supported the new one by pre orderubg it getting the collectors edition and massively recommending it to friends and people who were curious about. Best part was didnt matter what system you had you could enjoy it on all of them learning the great new story aling side all other gamers. With this timed bs its just cd dipping their toes to decide if they should just completely forsake a huge part of their fan base. Timed exclusives are fine with crap like dlc but stupid when a full game is doing it because that forces fans who dont have the system to not just wait longer but be forced to avoid it like the plague to keep from spoiling it.

Same thing with GTAV. PC, X1 and PS4 had to wait almost a year for the game. It'll be the same here.
