gaming Oh you loved Tomb Raider? Well sorry you lose.

Same thing with GTAV. PC, X1 and PS4 had to wait almost a year for the game. It'll be the same here.

Plus, "customer betrayal" - since when has a major company catered to a fanbase's needs and actually cared a bit? There are a few out there, but I wouldn't say Square Enix or Microsoft, let alone Sony or Rockstar, are in that category.

Well gta 5 came out before the ps4 or xbox one even launched and pretty sure if you got a new system you had the last one. Also microsoft, sony and a few others i know are guilty but square is actually pretty open to consumers with thef act that they hardly make any exclusives anymore. Cant say bringing final fantasy to the Xbox was a betrayal to playstation fans all it did was bring a new demographic into the fan base. Now by taking away a pre established title that is a betrayal to the fans.

Ok so we have differing opinions i feel betrayed as a consumer, gamer, and fan they lost my support. Its cool they still have yours and other peoples but i personally wont be supporting the company anymore.

Also pc players are ok with the gta 5 wait cuz we knew it was coming and now that its with us our modding community will keep it going for the next 6 years ling after the console community stops caring.

I laugh at the delicious tears of people complaining about any game being exclusive. Exclusives are better than multiplats any day. They give us reason to have more than one console and more often than not an exclusive is built with that particular console's power and strengths in mind so it performs better overall than any multiplat would.

I hate the fact that the PS3 and 360 shared like 90% of their library. I didn't need a 360 at all until the last year or two when there was more exclusive games. I hate the fact that the Wii-U is getting too many ports from PS3 and 360 rather than exclusive and original games simply because it has the power to do so.

Fuck multiplats. Exclusivity is the way to go.

Multiplatforms games have been around since the 16 bit era of videogames. What you're saying isn't fair to people who own a certain console not to mention the third party developers want to make a profit on the consoles. Everyone isn't going to own PS4. there are people who might owns the Wii U or Xbox one.  People are going to have a difference console and want to play that game on that  console. Some multiplats are better on a certain console.

For example

The Just Dance series, Release on PS3, Xbox360 and Wii.  The Wii version  sold better than the  PS3 and Xbox360 version  since its has the most casual audience.

Some game went multiplats because of bad sell as an exclusive, Crysis 2 gotten the reputation of the most pirated PC game. This effect their sales which is why developers release console version of the third crysis

Rayman origins went multiplatform  because of the poor sale of WiiU and Ubi soft doesn't want to take a risk selling it as an exclusive.  Let not forget that Third party company don't want to take any risky selling their game on a certain console.

And I know for a fact that people on PC were PISSED about GTA not coming on the first release. I'm not a fan of Square Enix or Tomb Raider fyi, and I probably won't be getting Tomb Raider either. There was a post here saying that exclusives are good and I agree. Go read that.

It's just a video game, there shouldn't be people complaining about which console is better or whatnot. Play the damn game, you privileged fools! Companies (mostly) want money, not a support of one human being. If they lose your "support" why should it matter to them?

I have to say (and keep in mind this is someone who's planning on getting a PS4) that it's kind of funny that Tomb Raider being a Xbone exclusive (and only for a limited time) is getting a strong reaction from quite a few people and meanwhile Silent Hills has been announced as a PS4 exclusive and no one's batting an eye.

Mainly because Silent Hills is being produced by Hideo Kojima, and he has almost never produced a primarily multiplatform game (some of the Metal Gears were ported to other consoles, but it's always been primarily a Sony franchise). In addition, Silent Hill is much more of a niche title than Tomb Raider. If you show someone Lara Croft and Pyramid Head, they will likely recognize the former more often than the latter.

Also: Most people who aren't relatively tapped into the gaming scene don't even know that Silent Hills exists, while Tomb Raider was openly announced at Gamescom.

1. It's not as big of a deal as Tomb Raider is (no offense)

2. It's cool to hate on what X1 is getting (early, not exclusively) before PC or PS4. Because FREE ONLINE!!!!1111

Gamers, please stop being such crybabies. If you really were Tomb Raider fans, you'd understand that this is sometimes what it takes to keep the Tomb Raider series alive. Crystal Dynamics is a for-profit company, and this company isn't exactly in the best of shape since the previous TR game was a commercial bust. MS is taking a huge risk by funding a new game in this dying series, and the fans act like the most self-entitled brats in return.

It's exactly the same as what happened with Bayonetta 2. The game simply would not have happened were it not for Nintendo financing it, but the fans are only satisfied if the game materializes from thin air in its most convenient possible form, good business be damned.

Microsoft's new console may be a massive cockup, but if cockup-exclusivity is what saves the franchise, you'd think that fans would be grateful. Maybe wait for MS to release the XBONE Flaccid for half the price, and get it, alone with the new Tomb Raider then. Maybe go over to a friend's house and play it there, assuming you know anybody optimistic enough to invest in an Xbox One. Hell, after the massive shitfit the internet threw over the Xbox One not having any good games (which it doesn't), you'd think people would be praising Microsoft's initiative to fix that problem.

You'd think people would be logical like that, but nope. Crystal Dynamics needs to cater to me and my selfish whims, or they're stupid and dead to me.

Please. Suck it up, fanboys. Be happy that your favorite series is still continuing at all, that it hasn't been shunted to the sidelines and forgotten by publishers like so many other great franchises are. I'm looking at you, Bethesda. You purchase the rights to Fallout, make one game, publish another, and then just leave it to die while you make a shitty MMO? Hell, if it turned out L.A. Noire 2 was going to be an Xbox One exclusive, I'd just be glad it happened at all.

And for PS4 owners pissed about the exclusivity, imagine the situations reversed. Imagine if CD had made the new Tomb Raider a PS4 exclusive instead. There's no way we'd be seeing a tenth of the outrage we are now.

Actually no i own a ps4 and ps3 as well as a 360, ps2, psx, dreamcast, wii u, all my old nintendo stuff im actually quite a big fan of console. Exclusives are good for the company who wants to sell more of their console but bad for the consumers becasue that forces us into a situation were we have to spend upwards of 2 grand to be able to play these games. Its honestly a huge factor to the rise of the pirate community. I fail to see anything good about exclusives other than the ability to let the companies control the trend rather than the customers.

And finnally grand theft auto 4 after id say a year the console community vanished i remeber because i booted it up one day and couldnt find a game. No more online matches nothing. Gta4 on pc thanks to the many mods and fun stuff we could do with it makes it still one of the top games played on steam.

Honestly, I do have gripes about the controller, which isn't as good for someone like me with proclivity to arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome, plus the controller deadzone is far too large, and 30 fps with a fixed FOV is a problem for people like me who get motion sickness from such things.

On another note, Windows 8 is a heresy to the God-Emperor and must be cleansed with Exterminatus as soon as is possible.

Also take into account silent hill started as a psx exclusive and the second one was going to be on ps2 untill kojima saw the success of the xbox invamerica and how well received mgs2 substances was so he released Shattard Memories.

What consoles people do and don't have is irrelevant. You don't have a console that has an exclusive then you GET that console. If you can't, then you live with not being able to play those games. Simple as that.

I know multiplatforming has been around for a long time but back then it wasn't a huge problem because there weren't nearly as many games that were multiplat.

You tell me: What's the point of having a multiplat game at all? So people who don't have that console would play it? Screw those people. If they don't wanna shell out the cash for a console then that's their problem. If two consoles are going to share so many games then there is absolutely no reason to have more than one console at all. The 360 and PS3 might as well have been the same exact console.

You it was one of the top played games on Steam yet there are only 2,000 playing it. I'm just trying to prove a point fam.

Exclusives don't "suck", if I'm getting what you  mean by sucking.

Halo, the inFamous series, MLB the Show, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, God of War, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Last of Us. Plenty more but that's what's on the top of my head.

They don't hurt the gaming community, funny enough.

Have you read my post ?

I say that people are are to own a different console and want to buy the game for that console. I forgot to mention that some mulitplat got something exclusive for that the depending on which version you got .

the 2004 EA Night Fight Round 2, the Game Cube version not only it it had SNES Super Punch-Out, the main character of the game is playable. People buy the Game Cube version for that.

360? Best controller? Same sentence without an 'is not the' in the middle? Are we talking about the same overly large, too heavy, prone to disconnection on PC, too large deadzone, and easy to break controllers?

It is one of the best controllers I have used. The only bad thing is the D pad and that's it. I have no issues with the 360 controller, dual shock and Nintendo's recent best controller being the gamecube controller.

Honestly, while it sounded a bit harsh, the overall message is one I would have to agree with.

When I bought Tomb Raider last year, I got it for the PS3. I enjoyed it immensely and thought it improved on some of the mechanics that Uncharted had been using.

I THOUGHT I read somewhere that the game didn't make as much as Crystal Dynamics had wanted, so I can understand the move. I want to see the series continue, and it it takes Microsoft's money to do it, then so be it.

Microsoft hates gaming. They don't make revenue off the xbox brand. They almost sold the brand to Google or Amazon. Microsoft knows PC gaming would ruin them, because anyone can use a computer or give companies like ASUS, IBM, Intel or AMD more cash. Microsoft doesn't even want to fully support the hardware industry. They know they can give you an overpriced welfare box and overcharge you on games.

Microsoft does make revenue off the Xbox brand, and they hold customer service to a very high standard. Check out what Major Nelson has done for the community. Also check out the Xbox One sub-reddit. The community there frequently voices their opinions and criticisms and MN's always there to answer them. Many of the features implemented in the latest monthly software updates have been a result of the Xbox community, which includes /r/XboxOne.

As for "hates gaming", that's before Phil Spencer became head of Microsoft's Xbox division. The guy he replaced didn't care about tie division. Phil's really driven the focus to gaming now. Oh - "Shortly after his appointment, in an interview with Larry Hryb, Spencer stated that there were some "wrong decisions" regarding the direction of the Xbox One and that the console will now focus more on video games instead of general entertainment."

For those of you who are trying to repeat the criticisms from the pre-release mob, you're late, since the Xbox One ecosystem has changed greatly. There isn't noticeable difference when it comes to cloud DRM between the PS4 and Xbox One. Feel free to mention me if you have a point which you believe trumps these one-thousand characters.

Are you implying that the Xbox brand is selling more than the Windows franchise? Because that's laughable .... Microsoft is the software company that dominates( sadly) the operating system market. While a company like Apple is the phone, ipod and apple tv company. Microsoft's xbox is not even scratching or denting what Windows XP/Vista/7 and 8 have made, that's factual.

:eww::o  :angry:

oh almighty lord what will we DO?!?!?!

Great, that's pretty much all the arguments in a nutshell.

Here's the thing: Microsoft have far greater experience with operating systems than Sony does. I'm talking decades. The Xbox One has three operating systems, with one being built on the Windows kernel. This is important because developers will soon have the ability to create universal apps which run on both desktop PCs, Windows Phones and the Xbox One. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_One#Operating_system

As for the Microsoft design language, I feel that there isn't much to compare between that and PS4. As an Xbox One user, all I feel is that the design simply works and is efficient to get to everything and snap applications in the least amount of controller pressing.

As for controller pressing, the Xbox One controller is a vast improvement over the 360. Having used it, it's perfect. DRM is not really an issue. Finally, Microsoft have ensured that the resolution and frame rate is up to the developers. They do not restrict resolution at all. Due to the Xbox One's operating systems being project which required immense research and development instead of PS4's OS which just forked FreeBSD, both Microsoft and game company developers have had to go a long way to optimise the running of games. But since release, I've had no issue with a 720p, 60FPS BF4. Resolution isn't very noticeable on a large TV when you're sitting far away on a couch. For monitor gamers... well, they can go buy a PS4. Yes, in numbers, the Xbox One is at a disadvantage, but realistically, does it matter? No.

Are you implying that the Xbox brand is selling more than the Windows franchise? Because that's laughable .... Microsoft is the software company that dominates( sadly) the operating system market. No, I just said they do make revenue. Not making revenue would mean that they're making $0.00. The reason why Apple is so successful in turning profits is due to multiple reasons, some of which are: brand reputation and vertical integration. Vertical integration is what I want to talk about. With vertical integration, they've managed to own their supply chain. That means they control the quality and quantity of goods produced at all stages. That's why they produce multiple products. The reason why they don't lose money is because of this diversification and also brand reputation. That's pretty much why Apple excels at what they do.
