What's all this business about a gyrocopter?

 

During Rarity and Applejack's adventure to Pony version of hollywood, along the way, the abscond a gyrocopter that was inside a barn without notifying anyone and had it destroyed when they crashed into Mount princessmore.

Yeah, Spike was a bit jerkish, but he's a kid with lofty ambitions, and the mini-comic itself was fairly forgettable. I don't really get how it ruins the whole micro-comic for some as the overall story & moral outshine the cute little thing at the end.

 

Besides, to say he ruined Hayseed's life sounds a bit extreme. It's disappointing for him, yeah, but considering what he's done to get to that position...I highly doubt losing Rarity will affect him THAT badly in the long term.

 

Yeah, Katie Cook's writing isn't perfect, but I'm still a fan of hers. <3

I guess what gets me is when an otherwise decent character is written to do something pointlessly malicious, especially considering MLP tries to teach moral lessons.

Because the mini story was written to conclude the comic, it lends a lasting impression of the Rarity Micro as a whole. Every bit of the comic's story is important, especially the beginning and ending because they hook you in and want to leave the reader satisfied, respectively.

 

This includes the mini story. The last bit comes off as just wanting to write a joke, only to make a great character in Spike look like a jerk. The rest of the Micro's really good, but the mini story hurts it. Being on "the very last page" doesn't cut it.

Again, it's just a silly mini comic strip that has nothing to do with the main story, it's not a big deal. If you actually let it hurt the comic for you, then you're overreacting

Even if Hayseed wasn't going to end up with Rarity, at least give him 1 date for closure reasons, Spike!

Even without prior knowledge, Spike lied to Hayseed about Rarity having a fiancé so he could have Rarity to herself, not to mention he kind of stole those flowers. If Spike had done this on the show, fans would be protesting in the streets.

Honestly, if Spike didn't turn him away, Rarity probably would have. I imagine she would've probably tried to avoid the date. I could just see her looking side to side and saying, "Um...I have a major appointment that day."

 

Maybe Hayseed will eventually discover that she's not engaged and have his hope restored. *shrugs*

Rarity's Micro doesn't have many misses; this was one of them. Spike was a massive jerk in the short story, and it's really out of character for him to pull such a stunt.

 

 

Thank God for Spike's characterization in Simple Ways.

 

I just read Rarity's micro series and I didn't saw that. Maybe the volume don't has it, or  it has it at the end of the vol
