Peter Capaldi did a wonderful job as the Doctor trying to rediscover himself. The "Attack Eyebrows" comment made me smile. As a long time fan of the original show, I have seen all of Jon Pertwee's episodes. In his first, Mr. Pertwee had the Doctor quite impressed with his new and expressive eyebrows, and used them to "talk" to Liz Shaw in Venusian. His Doctor also stole clothes from a hospital's locker room, and stole a visiting surgeon's vintage car.

Nope, and I have no shame saying so.  If all the "true fans" want to lecture me for saying he's too old, because in Classic Who they had Doctors just as wrinkled or something, that's just fine.  I don't care.  I only started watching DW for the contemporary stuff, which includes having younger, more relateable Doctors, and so I'm not gonna jump for joy over the Capaldi pick.

 

Still, I dunno Capaldi that well, so I haven't made my final decision yet, and won't till I see the show.  But I've a sneaking suspicion they picked a less exciting Doctor on purpose for number 12.5, so that when they reveal the most epic casting choice EVER for 13 it will be that much cooler.

Actually Five and Eight was pretty young lol. And Four, Six and Seven were only middle aged.

I personally like Capaldi so far, though I still have a place in my heart for 9 and 11. 10 I don't really like *dodges bullets*

He looks good enough, and he's given me the air of he knows what he's doing.

Yeah. This is gonna be one hell of a season, but the intro theme is too squealy for my liking. Ah well.

 

Here's hoping Capaldi lives up to the title of Doctor.

 

Also, who watched it while it was being broadcasted LIVE? I watched it on BBC America. Anyone else?

I'm just excited over the fact that they went with an older Doctor this time around. And the fact that he's keeping his own accent...squee! Even Tennant adopted a British accent in place of his true Scottish one (much as I love him, Ten is my second fav Doctor...behind the fourth, of course.)

 

But yes. I love his snark and sarcasm and I think Capaldi will be fabulous in the role.

I haven't seen much of him yet, but I have a feeling he's going to be as great as Smith/Tennant.

Ufff.. I have to watch that latest episode.. BADLY!!

He looks really awesome. I really love ten, nine, and eleven (I personally really liked Eleven and Ten, eleven a bit more) and it's nice to see such a cool doctor. He just seems like a mixture between ten and another doctor I can't put my finger on.

 

I also only saw clips, is Clara gone? I never really liked her (I LOVED AMY AND RORY THOUGH. Donna was my personal favorite companion) and I think it's new companion time.
