Who wants to be a cop?

This is a question for Bronies who are around 16+ who have not choosen a lifetime carrer yet.

Is anyone interested in a carrer in law enforcement?

Please state why.

Me?

I've always wanted to have a carrer in law enforcement.

Partly is because of the influence my Dad has had on me. (he's a cop)

My main reason though, is to protect the community from people who could pose danger to others by breaking the law.

We actually have a few public safety bronies here on the forum. Not only police officers but firefighters and EMTs as well. It's a demanding career field but a rewarding one as well. Glad to see there's more of us out there!

Interestingly enough, i had absolutely no idea what i wanted to do with my future in my teen years. That being said, i along with some friends considered enlisting into law enforcement. But a surgery i had to take when i was 18 left me unfit for service. There's a certain nobility in such public services, i believe, and people should consider it a viable career.

I know many in law enforcement and have had many others try to convince me to make that career choice. I currently have no career choice, but I do see the reasons for wanting to go into law enforcement. You really would be doing your part to help improve your community, and agencies have plenty of jobs available that entail more than just street patrols and investigations. You can plan community events, help with the department's IT, fly a helicopter, etc. It really gives your life some structure and discipline, and I can say from experience you can make a lot of nice connections doing it too. However, you have to be willing to sacrifice a lot of your time to do it, and submit to whatever bureaucratic policies might be going on in your jurisdiction, but I hear the benefits are well worth it.

@, I wish you good luck and good luck to anyone else who may be considering a similar endeavor.

My best friend is about to graduate with a degree in criminal justice and wants to go into law enforcement. It's pretty cool because he always offers unique insight whenever a cop is in the news for whatever reason.

I would only do so because I kinda like Cars. We have a few sports cars like a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, a Ferrari FF, a Chevrolet Camaro SS, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a Bentley Continental GT, a limited edition Aston Martin One-77Ford Mustang GT, a BMW M6 Gran Coupé, a Brabus G63 AMG, a Bugatti Veyron, an Audi R8, a Nissan GT-RMercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and a McLaren MP4-12C. They mostly hang around tourist areas to make the foreigners think that we ONLY use those.

Ive had my fair share of disagreement with law enforcment. Ive even ran away a few times and berated them. But in the endbi have great respect for the men and women who don the blue and the badge and respect it. To those thinking of going into thebfield it is a nobal goal and you should for sure persue it at be proud.

Grew up hating power figures. I had this ludicrous idea tjat they were all bad brcause i had more vad experiances with ones that were judging me based off age rather than actual facts. I spent a week in juvey because i got caught trying to put out a fire that some ass hole started all because the cop that showed up remebered me as the kid who made him look like an ass. So there was no proper investigation he just saw me smackingbthe bush ran up and tackled me. He later got repremanded for incompetence and failure to do a proper investigation but thebdamage was done. I have sense grown far more respectful of them but still hold some of my prejudices.

Me

I've always wanted to help people growing up, so naturally, being a police officer seemed appealing.

I wanted to be a fireman when I was 6 years old, not the same as a cop exactly but a very important profession nonetheless. I eventually changed my mind a million times over though and still do that, my latest consideration is to become a history teacher. Because of my numerous disagreements with the way law enforcement is carried out and with the disturbing increased militarization of police I don't think I could square that with my conscience. It dosen't mean I don't think cops are important or that there aren't good ones out there despite the very bad system only that it is not for me.

Heheh, I remember me and a friend of mine though about being police officers way back when we were little (younger than 10), but we eventually realized there are plenty more careers out there than the ones we see every day.. Or any day :P.
