Brony Powerpoint: I Need Help!

I didn't present it for reasons and issues, so...

I haz one more week!

Thank god for that. Sorry if I'm jumping to conclusions, if you were planning on reading off the powerpoint to your audience, I would suggest you don't do that.

Normally the point of the powerpoint (har har har) is to enhance your presentation in a visual way. If everything you say is already on screen, then it's just redundant information. Normally a powerpoint is a visual representation of what you're talking about.

You'll want to have what you'll say during the presentation on paper, and rehearse it. As for making your powerpoint more effective, it's better if most of the points in the powerpoint (har har har) are kept short and to the point. Keep your presentation clean by following the 5 by 5 rule: 5 words per point, and 5 points per slide. If there's more information you want to include in the slide, don't worry. You can still talk about it during your presentation. But if you really want it in the powerpoint, just put it on another slide.

If you want more information on how to improve your powerpoint, you can go here: http://www.wikihow.com/Create-an-Effective-PowerPoint If your teacher doesn't care about citation, then you can just ignore the citation steps.

Sorry for dumping all this information at once. If you don't think you have enough time to do all this, then you should probably just stick with what you have.

I also notice you're talking about a lot of people who create fan-created content. Look, I know that you probably respect them a lot, but keep in mind that your audience is new to all this. Don't get me wrong, you can still give examples of what kind of content bronies make. While you, like many fans, probably see these people as, well semi-celebrities, if you will, your audience is going to see them as complete strangers. You probably shouldn't focus too much on the fan content creators, as much as you should probably talk about what makes the show different from previous generations, and why people like this generation.

I did suggest earlier that you might want to include Lauren Faust's views on the stigma surrounding young girls' shows, and the lack of good ones. There are various interviews with her where she explains what she grew up liking, and her ideology on little girls' cartoons. A good example of what you could use was posted earlier by Shadowking58. In this interview with Lauren Faust, she pretty much sums everything up.

I've done slideshows before, so I guess...add a lot of sounds/music and moving pictures to make it less boring?

You also have to talk about the music and art portion a bit more, and (maybe?) make some backgrounds that go with the Mane 6 & princesses (like balloons & pink background for Pinkie, apples & orange background for Applejack, etc).

I hope this helps you some! In fact, I might make a MLP slideshow too.....

Something you might want to fix. But in "Types of Bronies" slide it says "Plushie Creaters" when the correct spelling is "Plushie Creators"

Also, I'm sure alot of the people in your class are most likely gamers, so you also might want to put Gabe Newell under famous bronies.

I can honestly say I have no idea who you are talking about.

Also, I'm at school, so no YouTube.

1. I have no idea how to add GIFs and whatnot to a google slides powerpoint.

2. I don't know how to add music.

3. Give me some backgrounds that don't look blurry or stretched on a google slide slide, and I'll use it. most likely.

4. Please explain how I can expand upon music and art.

5. Do the powerpoint on google so you can see how unhelpful that reply is for me.

You have to be careful when adding animations and audio. Most of the time, slide-in animations for points is fine, but if you have too many transitions and animations, it'll be too distracting, and in worse cases, too time-consuming. More does not mean better. Using the default "cut" transition (AKA no transition) will do fine.

Normally you wouldn't need music in a slide show, but if you really really really want music in the slide show, you'll want something subtle, like background music. Try not to use anything that is too loud and distracting, such as a techno remix. Exceptions would be something to emphasize your points, jokes, etc.

I don't know why you'll need sound effects. The only reason I can think of is for comedic effect, like the sound of a crowd booing.

I never said I would use music and sound effects, I said that if he/she knows how, let me know. At least, I meant to.
