Blitz really wanted to use it. Really Really much, but she still had to think a tiny bit of safety, and the one who could blow a hole in a mountain was nowhere near safe to be near. Heck, she hardly had the time to run away last time. Almost gave her roasted tail.

 

Then again, it Did scorched all that grass... And made a smaller rock slide happen... And destroyed those three trees... And *the list goes on*

"Bye!" Storm said, walking out the door. He paused, turned and waved again, before flying back to his house.

Storm dropped off his basket, before flying off again to see if he could spot Brittle anywhere. He decided to start with the south area of the forest, since that's where his house was closest to. Storm remembered that she had jumped into a bush, which led into the forest.

 

 

 "I hope she's okay..." He mumbled worriedly as he scanned the forest from above, occasionally flying a little further down to inspect things a little closer.

Brittle raised her head, full of water if nothing else for now. She hadn't had the chance to really eat anything before she had run off from the mean mare and the nice stallion that she encountered in town. Or well. who encountered Her anyway.

 

Looking down at her reflection in the more or less calm water Brittle let out a low sigh. Why did it have to be like this? She just wanted to be alone, eat a little in town and then leave again in peace. It was easier than to met anypony and talk to them.

 

She took a step back and noticed that one of the holes in her leg had an attachment to it. Something that had gotten stuck during her fleeing. The recognition of the cookie she thought she had left behind brought a vague smile to her lips.

 

That Pegasus stallion had been nice to her and offered her this when she were hungry. And then... She had just left him behind, petrified when the other pony came over.

 

The smile died on her lips and she let out another sigh. It was too late now anyway. He were probably telling all his friends about the weird little monster he found that ran off when he tried to talk with it right now, and even if he wasn't, he would surely hate her anyway for running away without even saying thanks.

 

Feeling a tear coming to her eye she sniffed and took the cookie up to her lips, chomping down on it as her state of mind became darker once more.

 

She wouldn't even be able to tell him how delicious the cookie were...

"So you're okay with waiting until it grows back, even though you might need it to make other... Erm, bombs?" Book asked. "What kind of kaboom in the sky? Fireworks? Confetti? Or something else?" Book was asking the questions he had very curiously. He took on a look of concern and surprise at how she said she probably should have left a note on safety. "I-I'm pretty sure she'll know how to use it safely..." He laughed a bit nervously.

Storm couldn't seem to find the little filly anywhere just by looking, the area was much too large. So he tried calling out in hopes she could hear him. "Brittle! Brittle Buzz! Are you out here? I wanted to make sure you were alright! Brittle!" Storm called loudly, though with a gentle tone. "I hope she's alright.. I really do..." He thought, still calling out and flying around the treetops.

Midnight was nearby where Brittle was. She was playing hide and seek with her pet fruitbat Ziggy in the Everfree. She looked high in the trees and low in between rocks. "Where could he be?" she asked. She had almost given up when she heard small squeaks of laughter coming from behind her. She jumped up and whipped around just to see nothing but multiple trees she had already searched. "What the..?" she asked herself very confused. She heard the laughter behind her again. this time, she kept her body still and just turned her head. She finally spotted him clinging on to the end of her lion like tail.  "There you are!" she shouted. Just then, the bat took off and Midnight followed him in the air. "Get back here you rascal!" she shouted as she giggled with delight. After flying through a thick grove of trees, she found herself in a clearing with a small body of water. She was right about to get her little friend when he dived down toward the water. Midnight followed him, but right before he hit the water, he flew back up avoiding it. Midnight couldn't stop herself in time and dove into the water with a large splash. Ziggy landed next to the water laughing at the now wet Midnight.

Stoneheart waved and closed the door, trotting back to the kitchen. She washed the plate and set it on top of the one Storm washed.

 

She looked around her house, trying to find something to do. She decided to go take a walk to the pond, having nothing else to do. She opened her door and trotted outside, closing the door behind her.

"Fire in the sky! Loads of colours and fun."

 

Blitz giggled at Book once more, looking at her nervous angle to this.

 

"It's totally safe if you don't light it too soon. Or remove the fuse. Or hit it. Or boil it."

 

She didn't seem fazed by the ways it could go wrong at all. Likely she was still more focused on the big boom with Disruptis, but hey, she had enough bombing experience to share around.

Brittle just had the time to raise her head from the now eaten cookie before somepony hit the water with a splash and hit her with a minor amount of water. It didn't matter how much it had been though, as her knee-jerk reaction mixed with her panic and paranoia to make her think this was an attack, resulting in a pretty massive change in her appearance once the green fire had passed over her.

 

Instead of how she normally looked she had instead two bright, pink eyes with small yellow pupils, legs no longer holed but instead being replaced by a griffins and a pony's legs in front, and a dragons and cats leg behind. The colours were all different, but a sickly green zig-zag pattern went on them all in various angles.

Her body gained an orange, thick, curly fur all over and her wings got replaced by holed dragon wings too big for her body, meaning that even if they were not holed she could not fly off.

Her head changed form to be slightly longer and more sharp, with rounded ears and an increase in her two main fangs to be of the size of the normal Changelings. The head had no fur though, but did look like somepony had just shaved it off.

To top it off, her mane had gone into long, straight hairs in a honey-orange colour, and her tail became a short scaled thing not even hitting the ground. The scales were a weak red.

 

Reacting on her first instinct to run off she turned, just to have one of the oversized wings hit her in the head, resulting in her falling down as she was halfway blinded by the thin leather membrane.

 

Going down to very basics she instead folded the wings around her and covered her eyes with her front legs, scratching her eyebrow a little under the sharp claw on the griffin on, but otherwise just covered, packed inside wings for somepony that was a good deal bigger than herself with enough holes in so that some of her were shown, but enough to not see the majority, which could make it look as if it was an uneven cocoon with windows to a sort of mosaic.

 

The only sounds that could be heard from her was a few words repeated over and over with almost a whisper.

 

"No, not again, Not more."

Hearing a splash somewhere down below, Storm decided to check it out. "It's the best lead I've got so far..." He thought, and flew down, landing near a lake. "Brittle?" Storm called "Brittle, are you here? I wanted to make sure you were ok.... Brittle?" He looked around, hoping to get a glance of the filly around here somewhere.

"Sounds like a fun bomb then." Book said. He blushed when he was giggled at by her. "Only one you might need to worry about is her lighting it off too soon. That's all I think..." Book said. He relaxed and just watched her, smiling happily. "You excited for it to light off?" He asked.

Midnight Shade looked over at the creature curled up in fear with a curious look. Ziggy immediately flew over back to Midnight and landed on her head. He spoke to her with a series of clicks and squeaks. "I don't know what it is." she responded him. "I can't quite tell." She started to crawl out of the lake and approached Brittle with caution with her tail low and her ears perked up. "Hey, You all right there?" she asked.

"It would be cool to see, but Pinkie Pie is in town all the time and I spend Way long time here. But I bet I'll be able to hear it.

 

And I bet that Pinkie will know what to do with it. Sorta..."

 

Hmm... Perhaps she should leave a note to her tomorrow instead just to be safe? Eh, might as well.

"D-Don't hurt me... I.... I...*"

 

A soft whimper could be heard as the voice stopped in it's track and the green fire took it's effect once more. The body and the shape stayed the same, but the wings took on a violet hue  and got a few more holes in, as if her uncontrolled magic didn't like her and wanted to expose her more.

 

It wasn't something she could rule out really. She had no control over this, and often it just made things worse, so for all she knew it really Were against her, although this wasn't something she could run away from.

 

There wasn't any room in her mind for that sort of questions and thinking right now though, all she could focus on were the voice of whoever it was that were speaking to her, as her hooves were still firmly in front of her eyes and she couldn't see him or her. All she had to work with were a voice, the fact that whoever it was had perhaps tried to hit her instead of the river, and thoughts roaring through her mind of bad things that were going to happen.

Storm heard a 'Whooshing' sound nearby and decided to investigate, remembering the emerald fire that accompanied one of Brittles' transformations. Coming to the origin of the noise he saw Brittle, and in his joy of finally finding her he didn't notice the other pony standing nearby.

 

He walked over to stand next to her, though staying a respectful distance so as to not invade her 'space bubble'. "Brittle, You're okay!" Storm exclaimed, though attempted to make it a quiet and gentle exclamation so he wouldn't scare her. "I've been looking everywhere for you... I wanted to make sure you were alright after that mean mare scared you off..." He explained gently, not really taking notice of his surroundings.

I woke up and headed back downstairs. I walked outside. "Gotta get my head clear." I headed down to the river for some relief. Once I got there I noticed a few familiar lookin ponies. I walked down to them and spoke up. "Hey Storm Shine. Remember me we met at that place yesterday. I'm Red Sage."

Midnight saw the green flame surround Brittle and saw the transformation. She stepped back a little and remained cautios. She had never seen a creature like this before. Her talent is communicating and connecting with animals of mystery and are otherwise feared by other ponies. She was about to speak to Brittle before another pony rushed in. "Hey, is she yours?" She asked asuming she was his pet.

"That's one loud explosion then! Knowing her, she'll experiment with it first and know how to do it quickly." Book smiled and looked around. "So you're here all alone? Where are your parents?" He asked, curious about it since he got here. She looked like a good kid though.

Turning Storm saw Red Sage. "Oh, hi! We met at the bakery, right? Nice to see you again..." He paused. "Though I wish it was at a better time.."

Then Storm heard 'Hey, is she yours?' Turning he saw what looked like a... Bat-pony? "No, She's not my child if that's what your asking.. And if your asking if shes a pet... I would say definitely not! Her name's Brittle Buzz I met her earlier today, before she was scared off by a really mean mare." His cheeks puffed out a bit. "I came to make sure she was okay, since she doesn't seem to have control over her transformations and was really timid." Storm said. "Besides the Everfree forest is a really dangerous place, especially for a young filly...." He said, before turning back to Brittle.

"Oh. She ran into the forest? Why would anyone run into a forest?" I responded to Storm Shine. "Would you like me to go in? Seein as I did fight in malaria ridden jungles filled with a bunch Japs tryin to kill me." I said looking into the river. I stared at my reflection.

 

FLASHBACK STARTS NOW:

"Hey Red." said Cpl. Joe Hudson. The MG team's leader. "Yeah." I yelled back to him. "So where are we goin again?" he asked. "We get across the river and head to The Point to knockout the anti tank fire comin from it." I answered. "Hey Red is-" "Cotton watch-!" Pfc. Cotton tail stepped on a trap. A rope wrapped around his leg and flung him up which triggered a grenade which ultimately killed him. "BANZAI!"came the cry of a group of banzai chargers screaching from the jungle. "Fuck take em down!" I ordered. The squad took em down and I ran to Cotton. "Took, Bonze! Get over here!" I ordered. A hoof touched my soldier. "He's gone Red."

When Storm Shine showed up Brittle were still too afraid to move, but she did open an eye to look at him through one of the holes in her oversized wings. This really was him, the pony that had been nice to her before, and now he... He was...

 

A tear ran down from her eye and she dragged the wing further over her face as the two ponies talked.

 

She hadn't thought that he had been out looking for her, and especially not to make sure if she was okay. Nopony had cared enough for her like that before, not since she was broken out of the circus.

 

B-but who was the other one? She dared to open her eye a little and moved the wing slightly again so she could see the... Pony? She looked a little like a Dragon with those wings, but... Not exactly. Something wasn't like that.

 

She moved the sings a little more, but kept hiding under them as much as possible as she scurried over fast and hid a little behind Storm Shine, looking at the other pony with a friendly face between her and Brittle.

 

"H-hi..."

 

It was all she could muster for now, but with a swirling fire quickly going over her it had seemed like the presence of Storm Shine had some effect. Her eyes were back to normal, and her wings were the right colour, although nothing else had changed.

Stoneheart arrived at the pond, on the opposite side from where the commotion was. She decided the sit a couple feet from the water, looking into the pond at the fish and soaking up the sun. She didn't have anything else to do, since she didn't plan anything.

Storm smiled gently at Brittle. "Hi Brittle, I came to find out if you were ok..." He told her softly. "I was a bit worried, since you ran into the Everfree after that meany-pants mare scared you. So I decided to try and find you, to make sure you were alright." Storm explained, continuing to use a soft, gentle tone.
