Looks like you're able to pick up that 750 Ti after all. I'd switch the 750 card for any one of those three.

Mines pretty outdated.

AMD FX8

GTX 560Ti

14G RAM (odd number, right?)

1TB Hard Drive

Corsair 900W Power Supply.

Stock HP Pavillion tower (lol)

My older computer would like to have babies with it as it's nearly the same though yours is slightly better besides memory (16GB and yes that 14 GB is weird) and hard drive space (Same but mine's a velociraptor WD).

Seems like that one only needs the PCI slot for power, like the reference card. Might be the best option.

As for the case, I've been hearing good things about the NZXT S340, but I don't know if that'd be your thing as it doesn't have any optical drive bays as NZXT doesn't believe in those anymore.

Yeah, the stock memory was already rather silly (6G) so i just slapped another 8 in.

Yeah, I have so many discs in my house I need one(and being able to watch Blu-Rays on the HD screen is a nice feature)

All right. As far as budget ATX cases go, how does this one look?

Anything cheaper? I honest don't care if it looks like a dumpster and I have spend 45mins screwing parts down as long it fits my needs.

There'c also the mobo(I can have this stuff brought in tot the store for me to pick-up if I have to, so availability isn't an issue)

Cheapest one I could find at Best Buy. They don't exactly have the greatest selection out there (and I, not being an IA citizen, am completely clueless as to what other stores are in your local area.)

I don't have a desktop, I have a laptop.  A <$400 one at that.

AMD A8-4500M, 1.9GHz quad-core.

512MB AMD Radeon 7640 graphics

I can't even play Source engine games with 60 fps save for Half-Life 2.  Maybe someday I'll have something to gloat about.

You will, all it takes is desire, time, and money.

I might go with best-buy, there's one in Des Moines and prices don't look to bad.

What's the difference between these, and would getting the cheaper one be a bad idea or not?

Best Buy price matches major online retailers such as Amazon, Newegg and TigerDirect, so keep that in mind while you price shop. :)

How much of a downgrade would a FX6300 be?

According to the benchmark I've read, unless you plan to oc the 6300, you'll lose around 25-30% of performance at stock speed. Though it's a less power hungry and you can use turbo boost aid you. It depends if you want to save the extra cash.

I'm looking around for a parts store and was wondering because I was looking up stores and one in Urbandale has it bundled with a GIGABYTE GA-78LMP 3.0USB Motherboard for $188.

Seems that board is a MicroATX board, which usually don't have as great power delivery and expansion as an ATX board. It's also based on an older chipset, AMD 760G, so keep that in mind.

That's what I'm asking for, because I'm just learning a lot these finer points.

I'm still looking for more stores, but I was wondering because it's looked like an option(they also stock a 750ti for $180)

Well, the more options you have the better, right?

No Online, remember? Unless I can abuse it in-store(and they don't carry the CPU I want for in-store pick-up)...

But it's Chrome.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/priceblink/aoiidodopnnhiflaflbfeblnojefhigh?hl=en-US This has aided me well in another browser to find lower prices. If best buy has it and you find something cheaper online, try to take advantage of that pledge of theirs to match price. Edited by Nuke87654

What about the stuff they don't carry, though?

You may need to search it elsewhere but this will aid you as just search best buy and find an item you like and when the priceblink finds something cheaper, remember to save that as proof when you give your local best buy a visit to get that item so they can price match.

How can I buy something they don't have from them?

That pricing is atrocious -- that's a $60 board based on an old chipset. :eww:
