Arena: Addicting dungeon-looter

Daggerfall: The game that will exceed every expectation you have for it

Morrowind: *gushes for 9 hours*

Oblivion: Fun, with awesome quests

Skyrim: Burn in hell

However here are some of the problems I have:

-My patience isn't good enough to get to "good part" of the game

>-Gameplay with usual reliance on stats rather than it being a perk is problematic for me. Of course progression makes sense but too much relying on these is bad for me.

>-Gameplay feels too restricting in the beginning with many of the better features of the game reserved for a point after my patience ends.

-Uninteresting gameplay (for my tastes)

>-Preference of guns over swords, bow and arrow, and magic (example is that I prefer Fallout over Elder Scrolls in this aspect).

>-Irrelevant to Elder Scrolls (don't know about Online) but from MMORPGs I've played is essentially button mashing making combat boring.

-Even if issues mentioned already don't exist, I have little interest in medieval fantasy genre and [unfortunately] hinders my ability to enjoy the gameplay and story even if it's very good.

Personally I'd like something that has the analogue movement of an analogue stick but the precision of a mouse. That'd be perfect for both movement and aiming.

I hope eventually they will make a controller that has the same advantages of a mouse and keyboard.

the alphagrip handheld keyboard might be something for you then.

edit: except for maybe the mouse part tough :P

Too....many...buttons. I mean a controller that has the precision of a mouse while still having a simple design.

ah, like that.

well, maybe the upcoming steam controller might be precise enough. tough i highly doubt it.

Im just wondering what all those buttons are for. I see no analog stick for moving, which is one of the strengths of Controllers, being able to control your movement speed at will.

I tried the Steam Controller (or, at least, an earlier revision) at PAX East back in March. The trackpad was so hard to get used to.

yeah i can imagine. with an analogue stick or a keyboard you atleast get some feedback of your input. swiping over a trackpad must be a different experience entirely!

I'm sure I can get used to it, but it felt incredibly weird. It's been a while obviously but I think it had vibration as feedback for trackpad movement. As I said, it felt weird.

meaning the steam controller or the one i just posted?

cause the one i posted is meant to be a actual qwerty keyboard in controller form. like for text input and stuff. :P

Actually, i think the trackpad is suppose to simulate the mouse, for aiming and looking around, not the movement buttons.

Yeah, it was. There was a second trackpad that I guess was meant for movement, but the game I played, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, didn't support that, and instead used the analogue stick for movement.

i wonder how many games will have this problem upon the launch of the thing.

i can imagine it'll be a hell of a job to patch it up for each and every game!

That's probably why the analogue stick is there, for games that don't want to use a trackpad for movement.

So the GTX 980ti is out now. Thanks, but I'll stick with my 270x for now, at least until I can afford a 970.

Thinking about getting a 980ti at the end of July.

I don't think I'd get one of them even if I had the money, cards like the 980 or 780ti seem more like "I have the money for it, so why not?" Whereas a 970 seems to have a better price to performance ratio.

I'd have originally thought that too, but the 980ti is almost Titan X performance for about $350 less. Its a card in my price range that could end up lasting me much longer then my current 970.

Yeah, you have a point. From what I've heard with the 780ti, it even outperformed the original Titan if you overclocked it, so there's that.
