So, according to a fairly aged Death Battle video, Superman has 2 big weaknesses. Kryptonite, and Magic. That being said, could the Princess of Magic/Friendship take on Superman? What do you all think?

 

Despite having all this alicorn magic from Twilight's Kingdom, do keep this in mind:

Superman isn't weak to magic, he's vulnerable to it, as in he isn't specially resistant to it. That being said, Superman tears Twilight in half before her brain can even process he's there, flies her into Pluto, and goes back to Earth to drink coffee with Batman in the span of 10 seconds. This is a horrific stomp, even Alicorn Powered Twilight would die horribly to the Man of Steel

Superman has fought far more competent magicians before and come out on top

Superman isn't weak against magic, he just doesn't have a particular strong defense against it like he does with say physical attacks as that shield he has doesn't protect him against such attacks.

 

Even so, as Evil Dragonmaster said, Superman has fought far more powerful mages before and came out on top. He can solo the MLP FIM verse via speedblitzes at FTL and planetbusts the planet.

Come on guys take discord into consideration, he has the power to pretty much preform any feat and has no specific weakness. In fact discord even had th power to stop tirek and the only way tirek was able to defeat him was through trickery so then how did twilight defeat him? By cathcing him off gaurd and turning him to stone! So twighlight would just use the elements and do just that. Now your probly thinking "but they are in the tree of harmony" but as shown in the new equestria girls rainbow rocks it explains the elements can be used because things like laughter, honesty, loyalty,generousity, kindness, and magic are within them and they can harness it by unity. Besides if twilight new that she had to defeat superman she wouls become friends with him and catch him off gaurd, he wouldnt know what the rainbow beam was and bomm it would beto late. So yeah superman isnt amune to magic he is vunurable wich means it would still work against him. Twilight wins.

Discord is downright the stupidest villain in the entire franchise's rogue's gallery. There's no way someone can get tricked the same way twice by the same attack for his own pride. He has little destructive power, he can just make things appear and disappear, but he's the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony (worst representation of both things, too)Tirek after absorbing all the magic of the alicorns and the rest of the ponies is at best Mountain Busting.

 

Superman punches planets with ridiculous ease. But just because he was made to be that way. That's the whole point of being SUPERMAN.

Is he OP just because he can defeat a multicolored singing horse? It's just that Twi's REALLY weak. In comparison with 90% of fictional characters. Also, Kryptonite doesn't have an immediate effect on Supes. And overall it takes time. Superman still has the chance to kill her anyway, because even if a millionth part of his power disappeared, he could still just punch Twi through the face.

edit: although again, no one actually specialized versions of either character, though it matters very little, as even standard version outspeeds the whole verse to a power.

rainbow dash is at LEAST 20% cooler than star screen and really, rainbow dash has more build on personality and deserves the title more. but no actaully I love star screen he is awsome but i think rainbow dash is just in general a better character

 

what im saying is, super man as purly OP wich by the way means Over Powered, its just a short abreviation so im very well aware of the terms meaning and anybody who is alot stronger than super man, yeah probly dont know and im really not interested in learning because their probly alot more redicululas. people like deadpool who has crazy regen powers and even wolverien, if you've read the comics, come on the verge of death multiple times sometimes actually die. of course comic series get rebooted constantly so they usally end up "coming back" later cause its a whole new story bases. Im also not a big fan of DC but I know that I do read batman beyond which is tied into supermans story very heavily and superman NEVER dies. He encounters challanging problems but I dont think he has really experienced the true feeling of horrible fear and death experiances.

Superman's power level has really fluctuated a lot over the years though. The original Superman could at most withstand being shot by a cannon. The Superman from the reboot after Crisis on Infinite Earths was not all that tough either.

I'll admit, I'm not well-informed with the Superman universe, but he's been beaten by multiple people from the DC universe, including Batman, a superhero that really doesn't have any actual superpowers unless you count training himself to a physical and mental peak.

MORE THAN 50 YEARS!!!! are you kidding celest and luna are both over a thousand not to mention granny smith founded ponyville wich was mentioned in winter wrap up as being hundreds of years old when twilight sparkle was talking so yeah I think they have a great chance of outliving super man

From the 11 times they've fought, Supes has won 7 times. And that was, unlike the other stories where Bats won, canon. SO yeah, Batman is not near beating Superman, not even by cheating in many ways.

 

His defeats just show him as someone more human, as a being that is strong, but not the strongest. A being who's able to make a better world, and he's trying.

That's up for many to decide. I respect the show and the fandom, but I feel like most bronies overhype everything about it. Bronies DO overlook most important factors in many shows that prove how unoriginal it is.
