Moonlit finished up his investigation and was getting ready to leave, he was hoping that the detectives wouldn't stop him and asked what he had found. But either way, he had his own evidence now and it was showing to be in his favor. He didn't know who the prosecution was or what he/she looked like, but he felt he would know soon enough.

 

"Now, to add in what I found to what I was given. Something that the police missed initially, so I guess it's mine."

 [Mysterious notepad added to Court Record: A mysterious notepad that the cops and detectives missed on their initial investigation, Found by Moonlit buried deep in the sand/dirt. It has weird scribbles inside, and someone must have dropped it.]

Archean sees Ace fly off and tries to alert him, "Hey, wait.... he left. Well, I hope he found enough evidence for the trial. Probably going to need it. It's going to be a hectic day tomorrow, I just hope that it won't cause trouble taking something from the crime scene." With everything in order, Archean packs up and goes to his hotel room after dropping by the precinct to record the evidence. "Hope everything goes well."

(OOC: Well, we're preparing to start the trial, so I'll just end it here. Don't worry, she'll be pressed during the trial!)

 

'Is that so?' Shadowhide asked. She hoped she got more information than that, but it was getting late, so she better finish this soon so she can return home and prepare for the trial. 'Very well. Thanks for your time.' Shadowhide's horn glowed as something came out of her saddlebag and floated over to Gale. 'As promised, here's your I.D card.' She then left the room.

 

<Gale's Statement added to court record: 'Gale was sun tanning on a cloud in the badlands. Shadowhide tugged on her tail, which made her nervous so she flew away. Gale knew ponies weren't allowed to be there.'>

 

On the way home, she stopped by Aero's house to see what he found out. But when she knocked on the door, there was no answer. It seemed he wasn't home. He's probably still trying to get the information for her. She'll just see him tomorrow.

 

Finally, Shadowhide returned home, where she went over the known facts of the case and prepared for the trial tomorrow.

Vincent held his talon out for a few moments as the defense seemed to choose to completely ignore him... running around the crime scene already. Vincent eventually dropped his talon back to the ground, looking at the defense attorney with little more than disdain now. When the other attorney flew off, Vincent let out an annoyed huff. "Well, that was rude...." he muttered. He planned on looking around a bit more, taking another walk around the crime scene... he walked farther away from the crime scene than he had before, and caught a glimps of something in the sand, caught on a rock so the wind didn't blow it away. It was a large, black feather. Curious, Vincent walked over and examined it closely, careful not to touch it. 

 

Hm.... Seems to be bent down the middle.... but the size seems about right for a pony... or a vulture... 

 

Vincent turned, planning on sharing his find with the good detective, getting forensics done on the feather.... to find himself alone! 

 

What the.... are you kidding me!? I find something that could give me an edge, and the celestia damned detective flew off somehere!? He was the forensics expert too!

 

Vincent was clearly annoyed, literally  growling as he decided he'd take the feather as is.... could make good evidence in court tommarrow.... He carefully put the feather in a plasic baggy. "Suppose I should head home... get my case ready." he muttered, taking off.

 "I feel like i'm forgetting something.....OH CRAP! Vincent, he was still at the crime scene! I should have told him I was leaving, DAMMIT!" Archean slaps himself across the face for his mistake. "Never have I made a mistake like this. What happened?! Well, I'll do better on the trial!"

The following day:

 

There were a multitude of ponies entering the courthouse. Murders were almost unheard of in Equestria, so everypony was eager to watch the killer get the guilty verdict. There were certainly more ponies in the gallery than there usually are for a typical trial.

 

Shadowhide was alone in one of the lobbies. She planned to use this time to prepare for the upcoming trial, but she keeps getting distracted by her nagging thoughts about Aero. Not only was he vague about his actions yesterday, but he said he'd get some potentially crucial information for her, and he wasn't home later that day to share it. Nor was he home this morning, as Shadowhide checked again on the way to the courthouse. So much information she could potentially have if her friend hadn't disappeared. 'Blast it, where in Equestria are you, Aero?!' she shouted at the wall.

Moonlit woke up at the same time he usually does, but with the thoughts of the upcoming trial he went to prepare and to check out more potential for later on, but after all that prepreation he went to the court lobby to hopefully talk to his defendant again before the trial started.

 

(OOC, usually, before a trial, Phoenix talks to the defendant before they actually go in, it doesn't relate to the case, but it's what he does, so I guess it's what I'm going to do.)

Jolt was walking to the court house and was drinking some coffee. He was a little tired. As he he arrived in front of the court house. He threw his coffee cup in the trash can and head in to the defendant lobby meeting Ace and the Defendant. He might have some confidence in this case

Sunshine yawned as he woke up the day after the murder. He got up, got dresses in his favourite costume, and made his way to court. He had heard about some crime committed yesterday, but he didnt exactly know what had happened, since he was too busy admiring a butterfly floating uninterestingly infront of a window. 

 

Luckily, He reached his destination before court had begun. Once he stepped through the door, he greeted some ponies before making his way to his office to read up about the crime. But before he made up his mind, he spotted a pony in the lobby which he seemed to recognise*@FortyTwo42*. He didnt exactly remember what the pony worked as, but he did remember his face. So naturally, he trotted up to say hello. "Hey, there! You here about the case?" Sunshine asked the pony. "I hope it isnt anything boring like some petty thievery." He said, hinting largely that he had no idea what had happened.

After the detective had given back her I.D and left sighed weary of the days events. She went back to her messy hotel bed and laid down on it with a big sigh. The court was was going to start soon and she had to get as much rest as possible in order to function as best as she could at the court. She had to admit that lying to the authorities wasn't the best thing to do but If she didn't get a good story she might as well kiss her job good-bye.

Vincent got up early, rolling out of bed. He took things slow and methodical,eating breakfast, reviewing the case notes and court record, ensureing he had everything in place. He went for a short fly, stretch his wings, clear his mind, took a shower, brushed his teeth, got dressed and then left for the court room.

 

He was worried... he'd reviewed his case notes, and he wasn't sure how much of a case they had going for them. They had proof that the defendant had been there, but that might not be enough... he hoped to bring the feather he found to forensics... if it belonged to the defendant, that could  be all he needed. Still, he wanted to save it... if he could weaken the defenses stance without it, the feather would be a coup de grace to a weakened case. 

 

When he walked into the court lobby, he spotted a few ponies milling around, the tall griffon standing out quite prominently. He noted that the defense attorney that had rudely ignored him the day before was there. Thankfully, it seemed that his fellow prosecutor was as well. He straightened his tie again, and walked towards him. "Jolt, correct? I`m Vincent, Vincent Stormwalker. I believe we are working in tandem on this case?" he asked, extending a talon politely.

Archean woke up early for once, and gathered his tie for the trial today. "Okay, it's my first trial, no pressure. Evidence, badge, watch, all set to go!" Once he gets to the courtroom, he spots Shadowhide having a mini freak-out and approaches her, "Hey Shadow, what's the matter? Getting a bad case of the nervous?"

 

Arch decided that after talking to Shadowhide, that he would get himself ready for the trial, wondering who will be the judge.

I was hoping we'd get a chance to speak yesterday, but you weren't at the Prosecutor's office... Honestly, i`m hoping you found something good out there: Otherwise, i`m going in there firing blanks..." he said, saying the last party quietly, making sure that anyone else in the room wouldn't hear... wouldn't do any good for members of the defense to hear that...

Storm was woken up and taken to the courthouse. He was still regretting about not able to save Sky High. He waited in the lobby for his attorneys, his wings flinching since they were still badly hurt. "It's almost time..." He mumbled worriedly, looking around. He had his pain killers before the trial, not wanting any complications.

Shadowhide jumped slightly upon hearing somepony address her. She then quickly turned around to find out who it was, and saw the familiar face of the detective she worked with yesterday.

 

'Oh, Archean Gene, correct? My apologies, I thought I was alone. I'm not nervous, it's just... one of my potential leads almost got me some good information, but then turned into a dead end.' Shadowhide felt she may have said too much; she wanted to avoid mentioning Aero to anypony until she could be certain of why his prints were at the crime scene. Hopefully he doesn't press the issue any further.

 

At that moment, a light brown pony who seemed a little old walked into the room. He greeted her, then, to her surprise, asked if the current case is for a robbery. What an idiot. He's obviously one of the random ponies here to watch the trial. 'No, the case is not for "petty thievery",' Shadowhide replied. 'If you know nothing about the case, I have nothing to say to you. This lobby is only for the use of those involved in the case, so go away.'

Sunshine's eyes widened when he heard that this was about a murder. Just the thought of somepony taking another pony's life saddened him. He didnt feel any sunshine right now, just darkness. Pure darkness. "Oh. Well, guess i should have listened to my assistant a little closer..." He looked at the floor. "Anyway, Name's Judger. Sunshine Judger. And i will be the Judge for this case, as i have for many others. I just didnt except it to be about murder..." He said to the two ponies, before taking a look around. "Guess that explains why so many ponies are here. I dont believe even half this many were here at the last case about that stolen urn." He casually said to no one specifically.

'Pardon, did you say you're the judge for this case?' She couldn't believe it. This scatterbrain who didn't even know what the case is about is going to be the judge? However, that cutie mark of a gavel hitting a table makes a lot of sense if he really is a judge. Better make up for what she just said before he holds her in contempt of court or something. 'My apologies for what I said earlier, I thought you were somepony from the general public trying to disrupt us. I'm Shadowhide, lead detective for this case. So, were you hoping to speak to Archean or I about something?'

"Hey Ace. Why would we worry? Were you going to sleep in?" Archean said in a playful manner.

 "Anyway, it seems like pretty much everyone is here, I think. Darn, are we missing something or some one? I'm a bit nervous because it's my first trial." Arch went into deep thought, checking through his memory to see if someone is not here. "Whew, nah everyone's here, good." 

"Having a mini-panic attack will not help me. CALM YOURSELF!" Yelled Arch in his head.

"Oh, i dont really mind what you said. This isnt the fist time, anyway." Sunshine said, then smiling awkardly at Shadowhide."I just came to say hello, since i thought i recognised you from somewhere. Cant put my hoof on where, though." 

 

Sunshine took a look at the sun through one of the windows, guessing what the time could be. "Court might begin in a few minutes, so im off to get ready." He said, looking at Shadowhide and Archean once again. "Well, see you in the courtoom, i guess." He turned his head to a nearby door, and trotted over to it. He stepped in, and five seconds later, you could hear a scream as the brown earth pony bursted out of the door, galloping over to the offices. A moment later you could see a yellow mare pegasus burst through the same door which the sceam was heard from. She looked angrily around for a bit before calming down and casually trotting away.

When there was a scream, Shadowhide immediately turned to the door, catching a glimpse of Sunshine running past, then a yellow pegasus followed. It's too late to catch Sunshine, but that pegasus couldn't have gotten far yet. She ran out of the room, after that pegasus. 'Hold it! What were you doing in that room just now?'

The pegasus mare looked over to Shadowhide."That creep trotted in on me!" She yelled at her as she pointed to a door similiar to the same door Sunshine and the pegasus came out from. It had a somewhat clear mare symbol on it. "Third time this week!" She yelled once again. You would be able to catch a glimpse of smoke coming out of her nose. "Im starting to think that Judge needs to be replaced..." She said before moving to the lobby, leaving Shadowhide alone.

 

Meanwhile...

 

Sunshine hesitantly opened the door to his office, finding his assistant looking through a ledger. "Walked in on somepony?" She said, not moving her head to look at him. "..Yep." Sunshine said. The assistant sighed. "Seriously, Sunshine? Its the third time this week!" She finally turned her head to the Judge. "But, Cherry, I keep forgetting which door it is!" He said, trying to defend himfself. Cherry looked at him for a good while before sighing. "No matter. The trial is going to start in a few moments. Better get ready." Sunshine turned to move out of the door before he got interrupted. "You do know where the courtroom is, right?" He could hear Cherry say behind him. "Yes, i think i can make it without starving" He said, then continuing his journey to the courtroom a few door away. Once he was out of eyesight, Cherry sighed again."Hes going to butcher this one."

He walked over to the other room just to find out what it was. What was it going to be? Was it going to be another mystery? Was it going to be pointless filler text like the stuff I am typing right now? 

"Oh, that's right, I must go look for my client, he should be around here somewhere..." Moonlit thought to himself
