Azura 1,107 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 As much as I love Trixie, the banner just simply looks weird with that stare and the rear view of her "plot" isn't all that welcoming. Every time I check for notifications on my phone (I don't use the mobile version), Trixie's plot is literally in my face. Despite the awkward vector, the banner itself has parts where it cuts off, which can be seen in the picture below with red circles around it. A quick message to all the admins. Please check the banners before using them. 1 My Signature Shop!-=-=-=-=-Art Collection!-=-=-=-=-A Signature Tutorial! Also known as "Cloud Chaser". My Ponysona, Azura. Avatar & Signature by me. 碇 シンジン 27,439 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 These are user made banners! Users are people with normal life. I don't expect them to be professionals and I don't think anyone should expect that. They do these banners in their own free time to bring joy into this community. I don't care if the banner said MPL FUROMS main thing is that the effort that the creator has put into the banner is noticed! I think the banner is great and I like it. If you don't want to see it you can switch the MLP forums theme to IP.Board theme which can be done at the bottom of the page. 9 Rarity Fan Club
Banul 3,831 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 Bah, I wouldn't have even noticed the cutoffs if you hadn't pointed them out. They're barely noticeable. So it has some mistakes, but I think its still a pretty good banner.

Jeric 46,880 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 @Azura, as you know the Trixie Banner was member created content which was democratically voted on in a announced poll as part of the forums Events Committee push. This thread will explain. Also, you posted in this thread I won't go into too much detail on the history, but this was not an Admin selection. The member submissions are vetted to ensure that they meet all the banner requirements, and are acceptable per the Global Rules. All of the submitted banners had technical flaws, but a perfect piece wasn't a requirement of submission, as you can get into a realm of subjectivity very quickly. The artist who created the banner may well appreciate your constructive criticism though. That is how all artists learn and grow in their craft. First of all,is impossible that a banner is liked for everyone without exceptions, and that's your case. This banner has been choosen on a contest with other 9 banners, and the community has chosen to put this one,and not another. If you don't want to see the banner, you just can change to IP.Board theme, and your problem will be solved. Gatekeeper Giggle 2,902 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 I don't care if the banner said MPL FUROMS I am instantly voting for a banner like this, no questions asked. Anyway, I think the only thing you can do is just to wait for the next time we vote for a new banner. I don't really like the current banner either, (It makes me feel like the forum is owned by Equestria Daily) but I'm content to wait until Trixie overstays her welcome. By the by, does anyone know when we vote for the next banner? That is an option, also you could also play with Inspect Element > Edit HTML I am intrigued. deadprofile 1,123 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 I can see where the OP is coming from in terms of its potential age appropriateness problem, but otherwise, it is what it looks like if you looked at a pony from the angle we are seeing Trixie (without hood and cape). This was a banner contest winner and it falls within the Forums' User Guidelines, so it really isn't a problem unless you look for it.... 1 "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"

Jeric 46,880 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 Behold! With my mastery of the dark arts, I have changed the banner! Alas, I know of no way to make the change permanent. And your epic resourcefulness allows me to mark something off my 'to do' list. I can see where the OP is coming from in terms of its potential age appropriateness problem, but otherwise, it is what it looks like if you looked at a pony from the angle we are seeing Trixie (without hood and cape). This was a banner contest winner and it falls within the Forums' User Guidelines, so it really isn't a problem unless you look for it.... Regarding the age appropriateness, it does fall squarely in the acceptable zone thanks to the newly clarified NSFW content policy. Dislike for or concern with the angle of the subject would fall in that galaxy sized grey area of taste and subjectivity, which was a decision made by all who voted. But it's not questionable for the site at all.
CheeryFox 23,824 October 6, 2014 Share October 6, 2014 Well if you want more banners and such, why not make an IP.Board skin? Seriously. An artist could do this. And we could use more themes. Back to Trix, I see nothing wrong with it...unless you see something I don't... 2 Sōten ni zase...Hyōrinmaru!

ghostfacekiller39 23,874 October 7, 2014 Share October 7, 2014 I don't really think publicly calling out the person who made this banner for what you perceive to be his mistakes is going to get anything positive done other than probably make me look for what your banner is going to be next time around to make sure I don't vote for it, to be honest. A public call out is very much unnecessary for something such as this, and the same goes for making comments about the community's assessment of quality. A quick message to all the admins. Please check the banners before using them. Secondly, the admins didn't choose this banner. The community themselves did, and it's frankly coming across like you're insulting the voters' sense of judgement with your general tone here. The admins wanted the members to choose the banner they used, hence why they set up this contest - and that's exactly what happened. I doubt anything good will come from asking them to take away the members' voices in this decision, especially when it was explicitly asked for. Furthermore, I think this banner is very good and appealing to the eye. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the admins need to check over it with a fine tooth comb. The members wanted it, and the voting supports that. They shouldn't even have to check over it at all, given the fact they even encourage the members to enlarge each banner and look over it before choosing in the contest OP. With that being stated and the fact they don't hand pick these kinds of banners, they really don't need to comb over it for such trivial matters like "it slightly cuts off the screen in a couple of places" which, by the way, I didn't even notice until you pointed it out Hardly anyone seemed to. I don't really see any problem here other than one member's dissatisfaction with the choice of banners, which in turn, was chosen by the other members of MLP Forums themselves. I see no need for anything to be done about this suggestion whatsoever, to be brutally honest. Also, on the age appropriateness thing - it's only perverted if you make it such. Every pony in the show has a butt, and it's always in the same place. The way it looks to me is that she's looking back on the banner while performing magic on it - not baring her rear end for the onlookers of MLP Forums to see (or, at least not intentionally.) I think that's what you make it, and this banner is pretty tame if you're not just thinking about her butt the whole time 6 He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!! Azura 1,107 October 7, 2014 Author Share October 7, 2014 I'm really sorry about pointing someone out like that and dissing their banner. It was stupid of me to complain about the banner and I promise it won't happen again. I hope everypony can forgive me for being so unthoughtful and even rude towards the people who voted for the banner and the admins. Also, on the age appropriateness thing - it's only perverted if you make it such. Knowing the creator of the banner well, he is always happy to receive feedback and criticisms, and even goes out of his way to seek honest opinions because he wants to get good at it. Maybe next time you can just PM the person and offer your opinion in a private critique as opposed to putting them on blast publicly? I think that's a very reasonable thing and may even prove a learning experience to some Oh, and the underage thing was more of a royal "you" as opposed to a specific target because I was rathe baffled by all the times I've heard that 1 He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!!
