It's not acid and it doesn't work instantly. To my recollection, the tour said

"It will blind the prey in 30 seconds and eventually lead to full paralysis" 

Nedry still being able to see for a bit supports this

I was referring to Spike killing the Timberwolf King with a pebble

The one in the book was 8 feet tall if I remember correctly so that one would win. I think the one in the movie may have been a juvenile, so if we're strictly talking about the movie, if it was indeed a juvenile, then I would still say Dilophosaurus
