Nearly forgotten/underrated games?

I actually think most games are better than reviews would have you believe. I'm extremely tolerant to most crap people find annoying in games though. There's maybe been one or two out of hundreds of games I've ever played that I couldn't get into.

A series that tends to get forgotten is Wild Arms. Most people consider it an "in-between" series where if you played them at all it was between major releases like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. To me they're what got me into RPGs and video games in general so they kind of have a special place in my heart and maintain their spot as one of my top five game series' of all time. This was solidified when I got Wild Arms 5 (the last I hadn't played besides the remake of the first game) a few weeks ago and it's officially my favorite game in the series except for XF.

Most people probably won't look twice at these games but there are a lot of people who give it a try in spite of what they've heard about it and enjoyed them more than they expected. I'd recommend this series to anyone but I'd recommend starting with the PS2 games and then going back to the PS1 games if you like them enough. Wild Arms 1 and 2 really show their age.

Seek and Destroy (AKA Shin Combat Choro Q)
Totally bitchin' tank warfare game for the PS2. I wasted a good chunk of my childhood playing this game, and the replay value is insane. I've lost count of how many times I've completed it. You can totally tell when you're playing it that it's a very cheap Japanese import, but you can also tell that someone had a shit-tonne of fun making it. It's totally up there in my favorite games of all time.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Drift 2 (AKA Kaido: Champion of the Pass [JP], Kaido Battle 2 [EU])
Another Japanese import, but this one's about touge racing. Frequent shoutouts to Initial D, a wide array of Japanese cars to pick from, and some incredibly technical courses. Brilliant fun.

Dropship: United Peace Force
Picture Ace Combat but with the Pelicans from Halo and you've pretty much got this game. A bit of a learning curve on piloting the dropships, seeing as they're capable of movement in umpteen different directions, but once you got that down it's an excellent aerial combat/cargo delivery game.

One of my favorite games of all time.  Very underappreciated.  I can't understand why people didn't like it.  It's so great.

You are literally the only person who has ever said something I agreed with about this game. It's one of my favorite FF games and I wish they'd make more games like it. A Wild Arms game in this style would probably be amazing....
