Does Anyone Else Hate Derpy?

Based off of the game Fallout, yes. Your choice but there are plenty of people who've not played the games and recommend it. Knowledge of the show is really all you need. Game knowledge is more just for trivia.

That as well as a few other reasons but the main one is Derpy's potential. Zecora was a character that taught an important lesson to respect the differences of others and Derpy could potentially teach the same lesson but in a different context. I have been singled out for being different before and know what i is like, I have even been caled "stupid" and "retard" before even though neither of them are true. 

 

 

People with special needs aren't necessarily stupid, but Derpy most certainly is

 

There are plenty of people who while are not are completely oblivious to a lot of social cues which are obvious to most people, perhaps Derpy fits this category? As someone on the Autism spectrum I fit that category for a pretty significant chunk of my life. I am not saying Derpy is Autistic or anything because we simply don't know enough to make any sort of diagnosis of anything but we also haven't seen enough of her to call her "stupid".

True, but there are some people that just can't seem to be civil and respectful about it. I would have no issue whatsoever with the parents who complained if they didn't or at the very least offer some solutions over what they thought should have been done differently instead of taking this "off with her head" attitude. They are the ones who ultimately started all of this and the non Derpy fans who are claiming they are better than everyone else are just as bad as the Derpy fans who actually have gone off the deep end.

I can understand the appeal, though I'm more neutral. I used to love her when I joined the fandom, but now I'm like, eh, she's o.k. I do think it's a bit silly to hate her, though, regardless of fandom portrayal or not. but that's my opinion.

How dare you hate derpy for who she is! She is a beloved character in the show, she was born due to a technical error in the animation and people loved her. Hasbro brought her in the show because they thought "Hey, people like this pony, let shave her star in it with her own voice, etc! Good job john, Promotion!" and thats how John Delanci got the Discord Role. But anyway, back to Derpy. How could you hate her for her shenanigans? She's adorable and funny and thats all you should know. Not any of this "Oh, oh shes dumb, she represents, blah blah!" NO! She's adorable and I love her (As well as about 70-80% of the fandom)!!! No more hate on Derpy, we already had this happen years ago, we don't need another Derpy hate thread >: O

Uh, I don't think it's really necessary to get defensive over Derpy, dude, she's just a cartoon character

The reason I think Derpy should be given a chance, is because she has become a sort of MLP mascot and shoutout to the fandom. It's interesting to see where peoples' imaginations go for creating interesting backstories and personalities to these characters too!

 

I must admit. I've never really been all that keen on Derpy, especially at first I thought she was pretty overrated. In fact I couldn't care less for most background characters, especially those with non-speaking roles.

While we all allow opinionated discussion and debate on the characters in MLP: FiM, this thread appears to have reached its logical conclusion with ongoing discussion serving only to fulfill continued circular reasoning.

 

Additionally, the best topics that discuss a flaw of any character are phrased in such a way that allows for non generalized discussion. Simply put, you are all free to debate what may be unpopular topics like these, but in the name of quality discourse and discussion, framing the OP in a more specific manner will serve a long lasting and fulfilling discussion for all participants.
