Things that make everyone else sad, but not you?

I mean, don't get me wrong. I can see why some people are depressed by it. But it just didn't have that affect on me though. I will admit though, there are some sad parts for sure.

I actually meant the fact that it confused you. Edited by Pink

it confused me the first time I watched it. But rewatching it and having discussions about it have slowly helped me to understand it more and more.

Snowdrop

Death

I've been left in times of need by everybody, so abandonment is no longer saddening.

There are some others, but I can't think of them right now, especially since I never read My Little Dashie

Oh, and My Little Dashie was crap, and I'm a RD fan

The fanfic is certainly not the best I've read. The video on Youtube is pretty impressive from a production point of view though. The sonic rainboom especially. It wasn't especially sad though. Perhaps being forewarned that it was supposed to be sad protected me; it just seemed like it was trying too hard.

To answer the actual question, a lot of people were really upset when Princess Diana died. Obviously it's sad when people die, but I really didn't (and still don't) understand the enormous public cryfest that followed.

The ending of Toy Story 3 didn't make me cry.

It gave me a little tear in retrospect. More because this was closure, but the scene is still maybe one of the best ending scenes in animation *EVER*

God's Not Dead.

(Yes I'm Christian)

It tried way too hard to be emotional and it just played all of their cards in this one scene. It wasn't sad, it was incredibly awkward. In my mind it was like

*YOU MESSED UP*

*YOU MESSED UP*

They should have constantly been playing their cards to keep you engaged. Yeah, it's a poor movie. And they're making another one! Hope they learn more about story construction this time.

Most people get emotional at Katawa Shoujo and the fan art people make up. To me I didn't get all emotional about it, mostly because I didn't fully finish it, and I think the fan art where Rin may lift up her arms and say "I've got no arms to hug you with" or someone may be cuddling isn't really all that emotional.

Titanic the movie = bore fest

Bambi = too cutesy

Final fantasy vii = meh

The boy in stripped pyjamas = just no good move though

But it's based on an event that is overly used for shock about what the nazis did

Having a vile heart of both stone and ice, I'm pretty sure there's lots of things I don't get sad about that would make many others sad. Strangely though, the only two that come to mind are My Little Dashie (I thought it was hilarious, I'm horrible) and that scene everyone knows from Final Fantasy VII.

I thought the scene in Putting Your Hoof Down, where Fluttershy makes both Pinkie and Rarity cry was hilarious.

-My little Dashie (Thank goodness I am not the only one). My friend bawled. I did not.

-The fault in our stars. I dunno, romance movies are annoying. I did not like that movie.

-Bambi's mom dying. Sorry, I found Mufasa's death worse. I know some people who bawl over Bambi's mom, but...I did not. I had no effect on it.

-Ash turning to stone. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the first Pokemon movie and Pokemon all around, but when Ash turned to stone and Pikachu crying and all did not sadden me. Even as a kid, I KNEW Ash was not done forever. I know some people who say that ruined their childhood, but... not me really :/ I dunno, as a kid I kind of was annoyed by Ash (Not now though). He's not so annoying to me anymore, but as a kid, i kind of hated him xD

-Celebi's death (Or whatever). Same thing as above. I know some people who bawled over Celebi's death, but I really was not. Too be honest, any death or anything in Pokemon never really saddened me. I love Pokemon and the movies, but seriously though. Or even in the episodes such as Pikachu nearly staying with the Pikachu herd or

-Titanic. I find Avatar (Another movie from James Cameron more sad than Titanic). I mean, it was kind of sad, but I did not BAWL or cry or anything. It was an okay movie.

1.Death Scenes of a Movie

2.Sad Violin

3.Being Alone

4.I Do badly for an test/exam

Same with the test/exam. I know some people who cry or bawl when they do poorly and I was like...oh well, I will make up the grade with homework or something. I never EVER did good with tests or exams...and I still Graduated.

Dead kittens. Those fuckers have infested our neighborhood and hide in my trash can, popping out and scaring me. I say good riddance.

Heh. I didn't LAUGH at that scene, but I did find it amusing in a "Ha ha, wow." way.

  • 3 weeks later...

Being from a... difficult household (I'll put it that way for now), a lot of things that should make me sad don't make me sad. I know they're bad, but they feel normal to me.

One time I watched an act at my high school where a girl played a girl who was abused by her parents. Everyone got so sad, and all I could think was, "... this is very basic. I've gone through these things. You've only touched the tip of the iceberg. I could make this much more sad if I wanted to.."

Which is kind of horrible, but after a while of putting up with certain things, you become more numb to them, you know? (though I would always help someone else out who was being abused... no one else is allowed to live like that. I'll do whatever I can to help them. It may not make me cry, but it sure makes me angry)

Snowdrop didn't make me cry. I didn't cry when I watched it the first time, I didn't cry when I forced myself to watch it again.

In fact, I think it was just way too cliche. It tries WAY too hard to be sad, by making Snowdrop a weak-ass character by basically making her fit into every single "weak" character cliche (i.e. Being blind, no one likes her. She's like Timmy Turner, except with blindness added in and trying to be sad) and it just made it overall boring and cliche.
