Can anyone tell me what genre this is or at least what genre it most closely resembles?

That edgy but sorta thrashy guitar that takes up most of the song....awwwww yeah. Love that sort of stuff. Whatever it is, I want more of it.

That's kind of like asking what genre the MLP theme song is. I mean, it's just your typical, catchy OP. It's definitely Rock music with some Thrash-y guitar sounds. It feels a bit fast, kind of like Punk tbh. But I can't answer the question well enough since I don't listen to this kind of music at all

But I hear a mash of different genres, but none of them closely resembles this :/

Anyways, continuing with some And I Watched You From Afar:

Yup, one of my favorite albums of this year

It sounds very punk-ish to me. Sort of thrashy a little bit maybe.

I noticed that Tony Hawk games always have great songs on them. I was playing Tony Hawk's American Wasteland the other day, and this song is on it:

I still want this album sometime soon.

Bought this EP at a record store in Montreal.

The only EP to be released by my all-time favorite band. The spine is on the right side instead of the left, and the packaging makes hardly any reference to the band themselves. There's also instructions in Italian on the back to make a Molotov cocktail and biblical passages inside.

Rad.

So after listening to Metropolis pt.2 a few more times, I feel like it's really more of a hard rock album than a metal album.

I personally prefer the side of Dream Theater that is a bit heavier, like this song:

Speed metal maybe?

anyway, have some AC~DC, and some Bad Company.

Darn, I need 25 more characters.

So have some pony rock.

Look 100 characters

I've got the same problem, man. :P

I was about to post Brand New, but I guess Moog beat me to it :S

Oh well, I'll at least post my favorite track from that album

Not sure what else to post..... Jeff Buckley maybe? I gave Grace a re-listen. It feels as if that album just gets better for every re-listen

So we're talking about Japanese rock now eh? I've plugged these guys a few times before but no one ever seems to care. Oh well.

And now some Number Girl (these guys have some heavy Pixies influences)

Eh? Nandatte?

Two things:

1. I really wanna see this anime now that I've watched this AMV. It looks so wild and crazy.

2. I haven't really listened to much My Chemical Romance past Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge but this song? It has one of the most epic guitar solos of all time and it makes me interested in their Danger Days album if they have more of that. I heard the band went under or something though so that means no more MCR. :(

Bro, I used to play so much Tony Hawk's Pro Skater back in the day. I had THPS 1-4 and THUG 1 & 2.

This is my favorite song from a THPS game:

I was on an Indie mood, so..... Belle and Sebastian :DD

I don't think there's a single person on earth who dislikes this album

Oh, and since we're talking about Japanese stuff, here's Guitar Wolf. Noisy Garage Punk at it's finest, very energizing with a happy feeling

Seeing a huge concert tonight with six fantastic bands on one dream lineup. They're all pop punk and/or emo bands.

The lineup is Rozwell Kid, State Lines, Modern Baseball, Dads, Pity Sex, and *inhales* The World Is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die.

Listening to Pity Sex's Feast of Love right now. If you ever wondered what My Bloody Valentine would sound like as an emo band, look no further.

It's cool that this show's on my birthday too.

Wow, the lineup of my dreams. Modern Baseball are the killers here imo

Speaking of Emo, listening to Owl atm. Very underrated stuff. Reminds me of Cap'n Jazz

Though Arrows in Her is what I mostly listened to today. I love the Post-Hardcore feeling

Here are two songs I really like by a band called Autolux.

They're a great Indie Rock band, and this is one of my favorite Indie albums ever

Have I posted this before? Doesn't really matter, this record needs all the praise it can get.

I've never been quite into The Stooges, but this album is something else.
