Not sure if this was posted yet, but I'm not gonna bother to look back at 15 pages to check xP

LP is definitely mah favorite rock band c:

Meh, I was never a huge fan of Linkin Park

Though I'll admit that Meteora was a good album

And their stuff before that one

But their newer stuff just doesn't sit in with me

There's not even a handful of their recent tracks

That I don't find just bland, boring and watered down

And nice choice of song

Numb is probably one of my preferred ones by them

Yeah I was never a huge fan of Linkin Park either, but I like a handful of their songs from their first couple albums. Numb is probably one of the better ones.

I didn't really like remixes that much until I came across some really amazing ones such as these two.. Gaze in amazement at some amazing remixes of mah favorite shows: (P.S All this music belongs to Samurai Dance Party. Check em' out!)

Does anyone here know anything about Rise Against? They seem like a band that I could almost certainly get into. I've been wanting to find a good punk band that I like, and they seem pretty good. I'm just not sure where I should start. I have heard that "The Sufferer and the Witness" is good, so I might start there, although their older stuff seems really awesome so idk.

Dokken's later works, around 2008, turned towards a more classic Hard Rock sound but still maintained a bit of their metal roots back in the 80's. I believe that around this time, the band started to show some age but none of which mattered. Even to this day, I find some of their albums a bit more well-written than most modern rock I've heard over the years. If you were to ask me an album to promote over some of today's latest bands? I'd say their 2008 album, Lightning Strikes Again

The Sufferer And The Witness is probably my personal favorite album by them

Though Appeal To Reason is quite good

Those are the only two albums I've listened to by them

So I can't really say too much

The Sufferer And The Witness had some of their biggest songs on it

Though there were some pretty good ones from Appeal To Reason

Songs like Hairline Fracture, Long Forgotten Sons, and Kotov Syndrome

I actually saw them live not too long ago, it was an epic concert

Why is this thread dying, must revive!!!

So I found this song, and I think it's exactly the kind of awesome fast-paced punk rock I've been trying to find. Definitely gonna start listening to this band:

Rise Against are pretty much my personal favorite Punk Rock band

And any RA fan needs to hear Prayer Of The Refugee

Though their older stuff still is pretty damn epic too

I've heard Prayer of the Refugee many times, I always thought it was a bit overrated, but it's definitely not a bad song. I think I'll like it more once I get more into Rise Against.

Prayer of the Refugee wasn't played half as many times as other Rise Against songs

Savior, and Audience of One were songs that I've found to be over rated

My favorite rock band has got to be Metallica and Billy talent!

I seriously love listening to both of their music.

Rock on bronies!

Dude, I love me some Billy Talent. Love the vocal harmonies. It's almost like Ian D'sa shares lead vocals, rather than being a backing vocalist. What do you think of their newest album, Dead Silence? That is, if you've heard some or all of it, of course.

Yes i have indeed listen to their new album 'Dead silence' and I listened to some of it and it's epic for a Canadian rock band.

SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

This isn't a bad Green Day song, if i do say so myself. Actually, a lot of the album isn't bad, although you've got boring songs like "21 Guns"

21st Century Breakdown is definitely an over looked album

There were some great songs on it and some crap ones too

21 Guns wasn't boring, but more of slow compared to their other songs

Someone who isn't a fan of emotional sad, slow songs wouldn't find it to their enjoyment

But besides that the song is a pretty over rated one

My favorite type of rock has always been post-rock. I'll post some shorter stuff from the genre, since it can have really long song structures.

First, Les Discrets. They're a French band with a very, VERY subtle influence from black metal, as well as shoegaze-like tendencies.

And now, something more well-known in the genre, a Scottish group by the name of Mogwai, one of my favorite rock bands in general.

Deku posted Mogwai therefore he wins this whole thread

Let's get some more Mogwai up

They're the only Post-Rock band that I know

And while we're on the topic of lesser known rock stuff

I might as well post my favorite song from the most recent Swans album

What exactly is post-rock? It's really interesting, I've never really listened to anything like that before.

That first one sounds almost like metal to me in part of it.

Well he did mention that the first band had Black Metal influences

Post-Rock really to me is like Ambient music, but with guitars instead of synths

Though some Post-Rock bands do have synths in them

It's pretty much just atmospheric rock I guess you could say

Post-rock is basically rock instruments doing things atypical to rock. Stunning pieces of emotional and at times large music. Have another well-known example: Explosions in the Sky.
