Johnny Test. It's become a pretty infamous show on the internet, and for good reason, it sucks. It's not the worst kids cartoon I've seen *cough*Breadwinners*cough* but it's painfuly mediocre. Akward, stilted flash animation, unlikable characters, repetitive, unorigininal plots, asspulls, and that goddamn whip sound effect. Its about as cookie-cutter as Canadian cartoons get. Canada has given us some great cartoons, this just isn't one of them. 

 

There was a point however, where the show was actually kind-of entertaining. When it first aired on Kids' WB, it was a Warner Bros. production co-produced by a Canadian animation studio. It was decently animated, the characters had flaws but they weren't unlikable, and it had a lot of Fairly OddParents' old humor in it. It was far from amazing, but it was watchable.

 

But after the 1st season, WB pulled out of the show's production, and it was picked up by Teletoon, a Canadian equivalent to Cartoon Network, The characters became flanderized to who they are today, the plots became lazier, and they threw out the decent traditional animation of season 1, in favor of cheap, poor quality flash animation. And of course, added obnoxious sound effects like the aforementioned whip.

 

If you have any interest in this show, stick to season 1. Otherwise, avoid it like the plague. What puzzles me, is how the hell this show is STILL on the air.

Obnoxious, unoriginal plots, unlikable characters, horrid animation and character designs, poor artwork, bad jokes, over dependence on stealing plot lines from better shows and the over dependence of the whip crack sound effect. It's a horrid show. Not even worth watching through when nothing else is on or you're waiting for another show to come on.

The show is basically 'meh' to me, I don't hate it but I don't like it either. It's just a genderbent version of Dexter's Laboratory, nothing special.

Well, that's an epic tale, my friend. It all began when I was bored one day. I had my cowboy hat on, so I figured I'd make a tower of hats. I accomplished the tower, but didn't stop there. I then grabbed random things from around my room, and took a photo of me wearing them. It was a good day, that day was.

Not that much actually. Only 190 WHIP SOUND EFFECTS IN ONE EPISODE! Totally not over used at all and very original. I can only imagine how many times its been used in the whole series.

I haven't seen this show before, but from what I've read, the characters are unlikeable and the stories are unoriginal. And since I'm pretty picky with cartoons, I can't say I'm interested in watching this show.

 

I'll admit, even if this show isn't the best, it does not deserve the amount of bashing. Cartoons like Breadwinners deserve that bashing, really. Even if Johnny Test isn't the greatest, it's a good thing that it doesn't go into Nickelodeon territory humour wise.

I was just more or less watching it back then to kill time while waiting for other shows. I can't remember which. It was a really stupid phase of my life so I've been trying to erase it from my memory.
