Why I made this topic: I made this topic so that people could freely come and tell the community how their OC came to be.

My OC's back-story: As the brother of Rainbow Dash, FlaringBlade (my OC) thought it was his duty to protect Cloudsdale from evil! Though he knew it would be difficult but he managed to persevere.

 

After the defeat of Tirek, The Wonder Bolts mysteriously went missing with out a trace! No one wondered why, that is until Rainbow Dash started asking questions! Rainbow Dash was determined to find them. She had no luck until one day. There was mention of them at the Crystal Empire! She was ecstatic!!! She went to look for FlaringBlade, as he was the only one who would listen. She told him the entire story. They set off immediately.

 

When they got there. All they could see was a bright light. But what was it?! They waited for their eyes to adjust. Finally it happened. It was none other than Queen Chrysalis! Why was she there? FlaringBlade wondered. She held the Wonder Bolts hostage after their visit to Princess Cadance & Shining Armour! Rainbow Dash said "It's obvious, why you're here Chrysalis. It's to take the Crystal Empire for yourself! Isn't it?!"

 

"Rainbow Dash what a pleasure it is to see you again. Oh and you would have been proud of that Soarin boy he put up quiet a fight." Chrysalis laughed, FlaringBlade turned towards Rainbow Dash. He could see it the pure rage. Just by looking in to her eyes. FlaringBlade tried to tell Rainbow Dash it wasn't worth it but he was scared stiff. All he could do was stand there and watch. As the rage built up. Until... It happened. Rainbow Dash flew full speed towards Chrysalis! All FlaringBlade saw was a rainbow going towards Chrysalis. Suddenly! FlaringBlade hit the ground. As he opened his eyes. All he could see was... Rainbow Dash on the floor!!! He rushed toward her hoping she was alright! He cried as Chrysalis said 'What a waste.' What they didn't know was Rainbow Dash was only unconscious

 

At that single moment. It became clear. He knew what he had to do. He needed to stop Chrysalis once and for all! He knew what that meant. He was scared and excited! He flew towards her so quickly and suddenly! Chrysalis started firing at FlaringBlade! He came to a sudden stop after seeing her struggle so much. She fired at him again! Only this time he stood still and she missed. FlaringBlade started to fly, again he stopped. She fired once more and she missed again! FlaringBlade thought to himself... He finally understood what was happening. At that moment he laughed and Chrysalis stopped! The room went quiet... Suddenly! a bright light FlaringBlade was holding a winged shield and a flaming sword! Chrysalis asked 'How did you do that?!' He flew full speed towards Chrysalis! She fired and hit the shield, the attack backfired and destroyed Chrysalis' horn. She fell to the ground. FlaringBlade said one thing and one thing only. 'Your time here is through Chrysalis!' He swung the sword. At that moment Chrysalis let out a blood curdling scream... She was no more!

 

Rainbow Dash was now awake. FlaringBlade sprinted towards her and helped her up. They went looking through the castle. The two found Princess Cadance close to death in the throne room. They soon found Shining Armour! He told them that they would find the Wonder Bolts in the castle dungeon. It took forever but finally they found them. Rainbow Dash flew towards Soarin and freed him. FlaringBlade freed the others. The Wonder Bolts complimented FlaringBlade on his cutie mark. He said "What cutie mark?" then he looked at his flank, he let out tears of joy as he shouted "I have a cutie mark!!!"

Mine OC is boring as all hell. Simple Royal Guard Member, Pegasi Branch. Chill childhood. Born, grew up, not much to report. Loyal member of the New Lunar Republic. Idk if that's real or not, but he's Luna's Royal Guard. And yes, there are Celestia Royal Guards and Luna Royal Guards.

 

I like to imagine that one day he (we?) will be transferred to Twilight Sparkle's Royal Guard. That would be pretty chill.

Well my backstory of my oc is that he was born to the neutral family who just never picked a side during wars or family fights. His dream is to make aviation history by inventing the first real plane. Nothing much else about his childhood, he grew up and is now a stallion so he can put his dream into reality.

I tried to make mine as cannon as possible.

Silverhoof comes from a long line of merchant ponies. His family has been in Canterlot since its founding. His great grandfather Thaddeus, developed the “New You” spell (below), and his family has been living off vain socialites ever since.

Young Silverhoof easily mastered the spell and earned his cutie mark working with his father. The young unicorn has a way with customers and is good at keeping the books. Life was looking easy for the young unicorn, but life turned upside down after the Changeling invasion. It shocked Silverhoof to his core. A world existed outside of Canterlot, a dangerous world he has never bothered to know. Somehow a safe mercantile life just wasn’t enough.

Being caught in an invasion was bad enough, but he was utterly unable to defend the ponies he loved, or even fight back. Silverhoof watched helplessly as Changelings fed off his family. This had to change.

In an old bookstore, he discovered an ancient academy primer for the unicorn Royal Guard. The spells therein were no longer taught; the modern academy had better spells. Still these were just what the young unicorn needed.

He took classes to improve his Telekinesis. He can now lift twice his weight with no effort, and manipulate three things at once. In the wilds at the foot of Canterlot Mountain, he practiced endlessly with his spells. He is a crack shot with his Celestian Bolt Spell.

Silverhoof is not sure just what he is looking for. He doesn’t want to find trouble, but neither will he stand by helpless while others suffer. He does not consider himself a knight errant. He is more on a quest to find his destiny, to learn why he is here.

Kissing his parents goodbye, He has set off to explore Equestria.

Spellbook. My goal is to present the Spellbook for a brand new mage just starting out.

The New You: This spell can change the color of anything, reverting back to its true colors 24 hours later. If cast on a pony, it will reinvigorate the skin, cleanse the coat and mane, and refresh the recipient. It can make any color, even luminous colors. Silverhoof can make colored lights bright enough to read by. It has a range of 300 feet, and can cover a 40 foot radius area in a single spell. Duration: 24 hours.

Celestian Bolt
A Celestian Bolt fires darts of pure sunlight. Against the living they can only stun. Against inanimate objects they can destroy. It makes a "Pew Pew" sound as it fires. Against the undead, including the immaterial undead they can kill (again)…Big surprise for ghosts and wandering spirits used to being immune to mundane weapons.

Since this is a damaging spell, I will try to translate it into numbers:
A normal pony takes two hits to go unconscious. He would have to hit a manticore four times for it to go down.
A lock will shatter with this spell. Heavier objects such as doors and walls need multiple hits.

Teleport
The classic and useful spell. He can port 3 times his weight. Useful for evacuating a fallen comrade. Further he can port without regard for relative velocity...In other words he can port from a moving train to the ground without suffering the effects of inertia. This is magic and it overrides physics.

Cleansing Gaze
This is a spell all unicorn cadets learned 800 years ago (today, the cadets use elbow grease). It can clean everything in a 10’ cubic area, and can be used to sweep whole rooms. It removes all filth, stains, liquids, and leaves a sparkling luster. Against the living, it cleans as well, even removing offensive smells. Manes and tails are brushed and groomed until they shine. Hooves are polished. Even teeth are white and clean.
--insects and the like vaporize into little puffs of smoke. All manner of vermin are forced out of the area and unable to return for 12 hours.

The royal guard considers this spell too soft and doesn’t teach Cleansing Gaze anymore.

 

 

Silverhoof funds his travels with his spells. Interestingly he makes more money as a magical janitor than with his family's spell.

 

That is Silverhoof's Background. I incorporated the Changeling invasion, but no contact with cannon characters, His one attack spell doesn't even kill. So whatdoyathink? Cannon or not?

My oc backstory is that she used to be a unicorn, when she was a filly she was found in whitetail woods by Celestia, not willing abandoning her so she took moonlight to canterlot and adopted her as Celestia's daughter since she never had a daughter before.
