It took Dash a few minutes to steady herself and with her weather magic sent statick throughout her body. She twitches a bit and the joints come online. The exposed joint has three lights on it, all green.

 

[Cybernetic enhancements gained, +1 to agility and +1 to strength.]

 

"Hmmm....System check complete. The joints are fully functional. Strain levels are above normal. Will have to fix that. Now the walking test."

 

Dash tries to walk shaky at first, but improves as she moves. "Nice. Ok one final test." She lifts a hoof up and smashes the floor, leaving a small dent in it.

 

"Good the strength application codes are fully functional."

 

A nurse comes in surprised. "H-how?"

 

"Genetic adaptation. These were made for the direct line of Windbreaker. I made them for papa but it turns out I would have use for them. Also Elegron, as long as i am not hit directly in my left leg, my own electrical network will shield them from emp effects."

Lasher felt pain, but was not bothered. "Really? I have been hiding for many years from the Enclave, I have kept my wings under my security barding for a long time, I even slept with it on. I don't need to move my wings. Get lost you little scrub" Lasher looked at Blooddrop with annoyance.

"You didn't answer the question. Next item." Blooddrop put on a pair of heat protection gloves and picked up a pile of still very hot embers. "These are still fresh from the fire. The embers are the hottest part of the fire you know. And they stay hot for about an hour after the fire dies. And they are just like ash. A simple power capable of causing so much pain." She threw the burning embers at Lasher, making sure that most of them went into his eyes. "The question still stands, best you answer it sooner rather than later."

The Enclave Base smelt of stale air, almost as if it had been sealed since Celestia herself was alive. However, it being sealed for so long, the inside components had no reaction to outside elements like weather, radiation, or looters. "This place needs a little cleaning and boom! A whole new home to destroy everything!" He found some EMP grenades, rifles, you name it. Taking a laser rifle for himself along with some other grenades. "I should be a little prepared for fun when I play next huh, everyone is getting cybernetic implants these days shouldn't hurt too much to have these." Walking further I found a lab with spare parts galore! "Hey Rave, you need to come see this!" Looking to one corner, they even had a robotic surgeon set up, all they needed was someone with decent science skills to operate the main console. Interacting with the back-up generator, the lights all turned on and I locked the front doors for good measure. I even set myself as the Administrator of the system activating the security droids to protect Rave's party and myself. "I have found my new home." I shouldn't have much needs other than food and that was simple really. I was perusing the pile of gadgets in the corner for Rave's implant when he finally arrived.

Lasher tried to cry out in pain, but nothing but static noise came out since screaming does not really form words. He looked at Blooddrop with hate. "I have no reason to betray Rave, so you might as well give up now and kill me". 

 

Rave walked towards Jack. "I heard you call. What have you found and what are you doing?

Elegron wasn't too happy about the cybernetics showing, he tried to hide his discomfort over that, but hiding emotions was never something he was good at around dash. "Emp grenades are area of effect. If you have a cybernetic weak point, it could hit that. Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about what happened. Why did you take the armor off?"

"I have activated this base from it's long dormant slumber. Anyway, I just found what you need." Showing him a cybernetic eye piece. "So many of you have wings, various forms of magic, and equipment. I want to even the odds a little, so I am implanting my brain with this monocyte breeder which effectively regenerates whatever cells I lose. Besides, out of sight, out of mind. Unless you have prior knowledge, you would have no clue that i even have an implant at all. Anywho, I can help me & you. So are you ready, the lab station is ready if you wish to begin the procedure."

She turned traitor and Rave would have her skinned, no matter what. So instead of having her suffer, I was going to give her mercy. A quick death... until some pony arrived to talk to her. I figured that was the one that was supposed to receive her information. So I made sure she did not die just yet, so that she would be able to deliver her message, a little revenge against Rave".

"You didn't have to kill her. Her the pony she was giving information to was Wade. My colt friend. The one who shot you with a dart. He offered her a way out, freedom from all of this. A prize of 15,000 caps, and passage to the western lands. A world untouched by the war the befell us all. A place where crops grow, water is always clean and non of it is limited. A Garden of Eden. And you took it from her, because of your loyalty to Rave. Because you were not willing to side with the one you loved, she lost her one chance to live free. I'm going to leave you to think on that. I'll bring you food and drink later." She pulled the spear out of the stab wounds, and gave him a super stim-pack to heal him, and some Med-X to get rid of the pain. She walked out of the room, leaving Lasher to himself.

Elegron turned on his broadcaster "by the way you two forgot to turn off your broadcasters. It's getting annoying but i would request that some pony picks up a nice gun for me. Anyway jack, rave isn't food, just to be clear." Elegron turned off his broadcaster, and hoped that they would turn off theirs. It was really obnoxious hearing they're voice while trying to help dash.

Leading him to the lab table, I strapped him in, "wait you said never anything about being tied down," exclaimed Rave! "Relax, the machine is doing the work for me, You are being secured so you don't shift position and get any delicate components damaged." Going back to the main console in the lab, "After all, this machine won't stop if your hurt, only a pony operator could stop an operation mid-way and that leaves you wide open for bacteria infection as well. There is an inherent risk in all things yes?" Applying the anesthetic, Rave collapsed into deep sleep, however, Before I started, I put in a command to take a minuscule portion of his brain for my enjoyment. Pressing Execute on the touch screen, he watched for the full two hours, while the robot did it's work. 

 

Hearing his request, I would find something useful later, I then set aside the radio and kept a close eye on Rave's health.

Dash looks to it and asks, "Do cybernetics bother you? Also my armor has emp shielding. It will protect my exposed joint. As to why. That shrapnel grenade would have killed me had i not discarded it. I would have been within kill range when it went off. By discarding my armor i was able to get out of the kill zone and only would have suffered limb loss or something like what happened."

 

Dash steps into her armor and the joint is now hidden from view.

 

"Only we know about my joint replacement. So as long as i ware my armor nopony else will find out."

"Still... It will make things... wierd... Ya know... Anyway, your right its not a big deal" he wasn't happy about it. After all, no pony wants to hug metal. "Well at least it's just that one joint, shouldn't be a problem" he went back to his normal cheerful self. "So, now what? We could go meet up with rave and jack again"

Blooddrop walked back into the torture room with a tray of pre war food in her mouth and a canteen of purified water around her neck. She set both of them down on a table, moved over to Lasher and undone his chains. "Eat up. You may need as much strength as you can get." She took the keys to the chains and left the room, locking it behind her.

Lasher inspected the food and then ate. He started to look around for stuff he could use. He inspected the table. He could use the foot of the table as a weapon. He broke it off and awaited Blooddrop's return. 

 

Rave started to wake up and he was not happy. "Ugh, I feel like a part of me is missing. You better not have done anything unexpected or I'm gonna turn you into Darkeye's food. Now untie me, I don't like being tied up, brings bad memories" he said angrily, starting to bite at the strappings. "Is it done? Cause I don't feel anything. I don't see".

Blooddrop and EDNA were standing right outside of Lasher's cell, Blooddrop aware that he should be able to hear them talk.

 

 

EDNA: "You're being to nice to him Blooddrop, he's going to try something soon, I bet you."

 

Blooddrop: "I'm expecting him to try something. In his state, I can easily over power him, even if he has a weapon. Besides, I always keep a knife ready for a quick draw if needed."

 

EDNA: "He's crazy, his loyalty to a crazed phyco of a pony led him to murder his own wife in cold blood. How do you think she would feel about all of this?"

 

Blooddrop: "From what I gather, Clover did not like the wasteland, and wanted out. That's why Wade offered her passage to the Garden Of Eden out west, and enough money to last until her children die of old age. She would have hated this, and most likely hate what Lasher has become. A mindless servant, who's only objective in life is to please his master. He's a slave to himself, aand he needs to realise this before his mind can be free. And he deserve to be free from this prison he put himself in. Out of fear, guilt or just a needed for companionship. Either way, he needs to realise that he is a slave to himself."

 

Blooddrop took out her keys and opened the door to Lasher's room and walked inside.

Raiders enslave ponies as well as slavers. The only difference is the way you treat them" he stood threateningly before her, wielding the table foot.

"Shooting her in the back is not a mercy. That is a backstabbing execution. And you know it. You did what you thought you had to do. But it's time you realised that what you did to her was deprive her of the greatest sense of happiness she could have ever hoped to achieve. You made a mistake. One you cannot fix. Do you want to see what you did to her? Do you want to see her body? The damage you did even after Wade tried to save her. Or would you not be able to stomach it?"

Rave finally awoke, I couldn't predict what the results would be after my incision but I would note everything for future studies. Extremely irritated, but otherwise fine. I would have to keep an eye out for any other issues that may appear. "Welcome back to the world friend. You will have a slight headache but it is partially due to the new technology," showing him a mirror of his half cyborg face. "It reacts to stimulus from your nervous system so try to use it like you would your normal eye. You can take this herbal remedy for the migraine, do let me know if you feel anymore irritation yes?" Undoing his straps, "If you notice, you a have a totally new interface in your robotic eye. This HUD has the added benefit of giving such information such as range, as well as probing others for how healthy they are. There are many more features to this as well but I have only scratched the surface with such technology. In a way you are my guinea pig, just keep me informed of how you are doing and if any other issues arise. Do give yourself a walk about and when you can, go to the firing range, you should notice an increase in your marksmanship with weapons (grants a +1 bonus to agility and perception). However, do be mindful of EMPs, they can temporary half blind you so do take caution (agility and perception -2). There is good news though, the implant is connected to your brain so your neurological energy that powers your electronic pulses also creates a minor shield against such things. Do give it time to recharge so you stay safe yes? In the mean time, I have to prepare my own implant procedure, all you have to do is press execute on the screen when I am done coding the sequence yes?" Moving over to the main console I prepared the instructions and strapped myself in. "You can start when you are ready Rave."

The medic walked in "Elegron, it would seem something is preventing you from using your full magic power. Something psychological. With our pre war technology, we could actually fix that" Elegron was suddenly interested "more power?"

The medic responded "yes, but you would have to be careful not to strain yourself. If you overworked your magic then you could lose it for a while. Anyway, so far you only use 25% of your power. With this implant, you could use all of it. But again, most unicorns' full power is a little less than your 25%. This means you could easily strain yourself, but you could probably go to 40% without strain."

"Alright sounds good, when do I get it?!"

"Follow me, we expected that reaction and already had it ready, it will take one hour"
Elegron follows the medic into the operation room, but first stops and turns to dash

"this shouldnt take long"

then he entered the room.

Dash says, "It better not." Dash waits in the room exercising her new limbs. Dash then decides to get something to eat. "Nurse, I would like something to eat please."

 

A few minutes later, the nurse brings in the hospital special. Dash says, "Thank you." Dash eats the food and rests on the bed.

roughly an hour later elegron woke up. "Hey, did it work?" His horn glowed, and one of the medical ponies was violently thrown against the wall. "woah! sorry about that!" he carefully dropped the spell.

 

"Elegron, if you can walk, then please go outside and practice there." elegron got up, slowly at first, and walked out of the room. "hey dash, you can come with me if you want, i need to get used to my magic outside now" he walked outside and saw a nearby stone about as large as he was. his horn glowed, and it slowly rose above its original spot. Then his horn sparked, and it caught on fire for a second before going out. "it may be awhile before it afe to use magic again."

Finding some sense again, he made some grumbles but did as I had asked. A haze began take hold of me as I felt the effects of the anesthetic flowing from the IV flowing into my hoof. As my vision began to blur, the robotic arms where preparing to cut into my head. My last memory was Rave leaving the room talking with his son. I wondered if death felt like this, a gradual relapse into nothingness. Darkness finally gained complete control of my conscience and I fell into a deep peaceful sleep. How the operation would turn out was anyone's guess now.

There is no need for me to see the body" he said rather threateningly. 

 

Rave was not happy, even with the implant, he felt like a monster. "Rargh, I hate this. And I am sick of waiting. It is time that we called the Stabledweller". Rave moved to Jack's radio, not wanting to use his own PipBuck, wanted to keep his frequency a secret for little bit longer. He established a connection between the Elegron's PipBuck and Jack's radio. "Stabledweller, this is Rave Crystal speaking, I hope you are not slacking off with some fancy drinks there in Tenpony. They disguise their drinks well. I am wandering what you have in mind for Blooddrop". Rave clearly did not like Tenpony.
