"You can call me Rain, I traveled here from out west on personal business." Backing away from the sky chariot to narrowly dodge the dragon that flew by. "I saw atleast two ruined bases on my way in. It makes sense that those kinds of ponies are involved with what i have been able to scout so far. I don't even hear DJ-Pon3 anymore, wasn't she like all the rage back in the day? I knew it would be bad but if it was THIS bad, there is a good chance that he didn't...nevermind." Quickly changing the subject,"I guess I can tag along for now, you guys seem to be trust worthy locals." I took my place with the sky chariot and followed along.

"dj pon-3 is off the air because they destroyed tenpony. but he will be back soon." elegron informed her.

"hey rain, im midnight."

"my names greenleaves."

Spark was too busy flying the sky chariot to introduce himself.

" I am Xanthe, and this is nightstar"

"hey."

Elegron was starting to realise just how much his team was growing. "so what have you been doing until now?" he asked the pegasus.

"I am looking for somepony. We lost contact after Equestria was destroyed. I am not sure where he is now but I am hoping he's ok. Family has to stick together. I am just worried because I got the wings in the family. He inherited the brains, but he wasn't much of a fighter. Someone like that wouldn't last long in this area." Trying to refocus herself, They are still strangers..."Enough about me anyway. Say, where are we going? Not much a scenic route if you ask me." Flying to a nearby cloud and attaching myself using more cloud as a rope. I closed my eyes and said, "Alert me when we get there", enjoying the breeze, resting my eyes. Nothing felt better and softer than laying down on a cloud.

"who are you looking for? maybe weve seen him. weve seen a lot of ponies along the way. many of them have tried to kill us, but others have been nicer" Elegron was curious as to who this pony was or who she was trying to find. he didnt fully trust her yet, but she hadnt shot at him, and thats more than he could say for most ponies.

Still lying on the cloud, "I should be fine for now," replying to Elegron. "I get really lonely, but that's why I have my big brother. He was my BBBFF and I can't wait to catch up with him. We have soooo much to catch up on." My stomach grumbling, "Say, you got any food on you, I can repay you the favor anyway. Like no pony else is as nice as you are."

"hey rave, do you know where the food is? not the "food" jack had... oh nevermind, here it is." Elegron pulled out a few apples and handed one to rain, jack, and dash each before biting into his own. "well you can travel with us until we find him. then maybe he could join us too, its up to you" he said with a friendly smile.

Taking the food, I bit happily away. "Wait a minute, surely he can't mean MY Jack, what are the chances," I thought? My face for one second showing confusion, then a matter of deep thought. "Furthermore, what did he mean by "food"?" Quickly acting normal again, "Thanks for the food Elegron, I hope we can get him to join too." "I heard of cannibals, but he would never do that" I thought spacing out at the sky. "Has to be a mistake, I know it."

"You ok? Your acting really strange. If something's bothering you, then you can tell me" he put a good on her shoulder and gave her a reassuring look. Who's the pony your looking for? I'm assuming that has something to do with it... You wouldn't happen to know jack would you?" This pony was acting very strange, and Elegron intended to find out why.

"Fuck. Dragons now? This is problematic. Dragon Lord Grigori will not be pleased about this. This breaks the agreement of peace that Dragons and ponies stay out if each others territory. Dragon in the sky, ponies on the ground."

 

The Scout pulled up his Radio and got in contact with the city in the badlands.

 

"This Is Bone Crusher of the 21st scouting division. My team has been killed by the stable dweller while we were following them, but they have a Dragoness. A young one, but a Dragon non the less. You have to send the Blood Queen to Canterlot and talk with Lord Grigori. Maybe he will talk to this young Dragon. This is my final report. May the Flames everlasting Carry us over into the Paradise beyond."

 

He stopped his transmission, put his gun to his head and pulled the trigger, easing his passing.

Flamestreak and Rave were having a little bit of an argument. "No, you would be too vulnerable. I can't allow you to do that". "I appreciate that you are concerned for my safety, but I will do it. That way, I won't scare any other ponies that we come across, if we go to any towns". "But you won't have your dragon scales to protect you if you do so". "Don't worry, as long as I have the gem, I will be able to turn back".

"Yeah, he's my brother. I usually get something in the way of communication from him but he's been quiet for a long time now. I have heard...rumors that he lost it, but I came back to ponyville just to make sure. How do you know Jack?" Popping the cloud from under me, I flew actively now.

"He was you brother? then.... Shit... Well, you could say we've met him. and well.... he kinda has lost it. Last time we met he tried to kill rave by bringing an old enclave base's defences on him. then there was that time when he killed me and ate my brain... yup, hes not a very nice guy." Elegron realised he had to turn this around or he might piss off rain.

"but hes still out there i think, and with you on our team im sure we can convince him to change" he said, smiling.

Rave managed to take note of what Elegron said. "I sent my son after him. If he catches him, well, he is dead then. He will have eaten him up for good" Rave smiled. "Serves him good, no one betrays my trust or he will find himse--- wahh. Stop flying away when I am talking". "I can't help it, it is just so funny". Rave mumbles irritatedly.

"You guys are surely confusing him with someone else, the Jack I know wouldn't do anything like you guys mentioned." I looked at rave,"If you or your son even touch a hair on him, I will hunt you myself! Until then, I can't believe he would fall so low as to commit those horrible attrocities, and I certainly won't believe he is dead! He wouldn't hurt a fly." Finally taking a deep breath, "You must understand, I'm sorry if I come defensively but I can't let allegations like that sour all that he means to me. I am a reasonable pony in the end though, prove your accusations and you will have my apology." I can't believe he would do it, he certainly was determined and down right evil sometimes. Even then it was never this bad. Keeping some distance from the chariot, I knew there was a reason why he stopped talking to me. It could be that he became...something else.

Blooddrop: "Dragons? They have a Dragon? And I'm guessing it do not have permission to enter our territory. I shall get to Canterlot and talk with Grigori. Hopefully we can settle this peacefully. I don't want a war against the Dragons. That's one we will surly lose. Slasher. Your I charge again. Keep the Gang alive. And send some to ponies to talk about a possible business partnership with that Lena Smiles. She should have survived the Ghoul attacks. And found out what you can about Rattlesnakes. He deserves some Caps for his years of broadcasting the truth to the wastes. One last thing. The Iron Warriors may no longer have their Citadel, but Iron Mane is still alive. Hunt him down and bring him here for execution. I'll be back in a day or two."

 

Blooddrop stepped outside on took to the skies, flying towards Canterlot for an audience with Lord Grigori.

"sorry rain, your right, were probably talking about different jacks. i guess it is a fairly common name." he said, trying to lighten the mood. He knew the mare was just in denial, but pushing further would only make things worse. besides, it didnt really change anything and was probably for the better.

Flamestreak was really softening Rave up. He didn't know if he wanted to destroy the Wasteland anymore. Not if she would be affected by, not if it would hurt her. He looked at his PipBuck, at the files. "I will have to make a decision one day. That day might be approaching". He hugged Flamestreak's neck.

Dash flew up to Flamestreak and asks, "mistress Dragon, what would it cost me to procure information about a unicorn? He has harmed both dragons and ponies alike. He developed the anti-dragon ships your people once faced. I intend to bring him his due."

Flamestreak looked annoyed, being interrupted from a hug. "Well, I'm not the right dragon to ask about that. If you would have wanted to know then you should have asked my father while he was available. However, now that you mention a unicorn, I remember a little bit a pony named Dark Horn. A servant of Redeye. He used him to secure power of the sky's and even managed to enslave one of our oldest and most powerful dragon. How--". Rave interrupted. "But he's gone now, right? There are more important things to think about than some unicorn that is no longer a threat. Isn't that right Enclaver?" he said the last few words rather sharply. Rave did not like that Dash was after Dark Horn. They had been good buddies back in the days. Dark Horn  had been his mentor when it came to slaving business. He had also taught him a few tricks with magic. "Of course there is, now if you will excuse me miss, but me and Rave have a lot of catching up to do". She a little bit away from Dash.

"no rave, dash is right. we have to find dark horn. hes not a very nice guy." Elelgron gave rave an odd look "why are you so nervous all of a sudden rave? and jumpy." elegron noticed that he was acting very odd. he turned to flamestreak "hes killed several dragons, directly and indirectly. we can stop that by killing him. We need to do something about it. Im not going to sit by while another pony kills innocent dragons, or anything for that matter."

Hearing their conversation,"So we are hunting a dragon killer? Let me know where to fire. I was actually curious when we were going to fight something again." Flying up to Elegron, "what's this about a blood queen I keep hearing about? Seems just about everything in this land wants you dead huh?"

"anything thats evil yup. Ive already killed... i think her husband? anyway, a psychotic cypberpony with tons and tons of dark magic. he cut my horn off, i cut his head off. hopefully mine will regrow soon, i really dont want to fight anypony until i can use magic again"

Dash shakes her head and flies over to the sky chariot. She doesn't look happy. She lands next to Elegron and whispers to him. "As long as he protects Dark Horn, I will never trust him. Let's change course and head for canterlot. My father may still be alive."

[Elegron 168]

Elegron was suddenly very pissed off. "lets not. id like to have a horn first, cybernetic or natural, i dont care. im not going to canterlot until i can use my magic. i dont have wings or insane strength to save my ass. i have nothing. Rave still has a few things he needs to sort out, but hes mostly changed. anyway, he can wait outside if you want. we dont even have to add him to the defense system." Elegron scooted over, a few extra inches away from dash.

Watching the others go their separate ways, I allowed myself to wander, losing myself in my pain. "He was my pillar, my reason for staying strong in a world that could spit you out dead in seconds with no warning", I thought. He was why I still stood when others still fell. I let myself drift until I began to separate from the others. No thought or reason, just the primitive need to breathe, move, eat, and kill when need be. Is this what Jack felt when he slipped away from reality? When he let his inner nature take over, kill or be killed. I spent days wandering. Endless time spent doing nothing but thinking, debating, assessing. Jack wasn't wrong, his way was right...
