Lasher looked at him blankly. "Going down that path again? Hasn't it taught you anything? That is one of the main reasons why you are hated by all the ponies of the Wasteland. I'm up for it, but don't go whining about how everypony is against you and doesn't follow your ideals, how everypony is sick and tired of you murdering and then criticizing what ponies try to do for living".

"I think it's a bit strange too, but we have bigger concerns. I got a message from xenith. Some of the zebras have been taken as slaves. Anyone up for a little rescue mission?" Elegron twirled around his shotguns to emphasize his point. "Let's teach these slavers a lesson." He was glad to have a chance to fight without feeling bad about killing ponies. Everypony in the happy smiles knew what they were doing, knew it was wrong, and did it anyway. That made things a lot easier on Elegron. "I'll call some backup from stable city, but we won't want an army. I'll call midnight and xanthe and that should be all we need. Any objections?"

Cryssi stood talk on her hind legs and pointed directly at Elegron "Objection! Are you crazy? These are not slavers. These are soldiers. Trained military professionals with an army, and high grade weaponry and armour. Maybe 10 years ago you would have a chance. But these guys have forced the brotherhood of steel into hiding. They destroyed the Iron Warriors in their own home. They have everything to detect you. Snipers, tracking missiles, EFS thermal detection and drones. No approach will result in your victory. Stop your madness and listen to me. You can't save them now. They're gone."

"Of course I'm crazy, so anyway, I was thinking we all just run in and attack" he saw cryssis horrified look and laughed "I'm just kidding, I'll think of something. In the meantime, what do you guys want to do?" While he waited for an answer he started thinking about how he would free the zebras. "I've got it! They're not at happy smiles yet, if we attack the caravan as its heading there, we can free them, but we have to hurry"

"Listen to me. I grew up in the WPS. I know how they think and how they work. These are fresh slaves from a village, they will have armed guards and they will be anticipating an attack. You go in and try and your little invisibility trick and they will just shoot you dead. Or worse capture, torture, humiliate and publicly execute. You're not crazy, you're just an idiot if you think you can do This. So don't."

"Hold it! That was a high level operation they moved in on. One or two ponies with them are going to be running Pip-bucks, and high level armour. Maybe even Hell hound tier, maybe higher. And I doubt you have even faced someone who has actual training in combat other than just experience. You will not attack them, or I will knock you out for your own protection, and the protection of everyone around us. Think you idiot. What good can come of this? You will die." Her eyes started to water, "aand I'm not going to let you through your life away and everyone else's life who is delusional enough to follow you through with this."

"So what are you gonna do? Throw your life away in an endeavour to try and save a few ponies where as if you leave them you can help so much more in the future? It's called Sacrifice. And they chose to do this for you, so that you may live another day to try and save he wastes. If you try and help them, you just make their enslavement and all those who have already died, their deaths will be in vein. You need to think with your mind and not just follow your heart. Have you ever heard the saying, "to be a true hero, you must become the villain of the piece." Apply that here. Doing what you see as wrong is the right thing to do. Respect those who have died and leave this behind you."

"Your right cryssi... As much as I hate it, I don't have much choice." Elegron wondered what they were going through "has anypony ever betrayed you? Pretended they were your friend, then backstab bed them when they need you the most? I just kindof feel like I'm doing that to them..." Elegron wondered if she would know that he knew something was up. He wasn't exactly trying to hint at it, but he knew he had to talk to her about it at some point, and he had to have a careful approach.

Maybe it's time to grow up and learn that this is the behaviour ponies will show to you from now on. And you just have to deal with it." She was able to see in Elegron that he had something to say, and he was holding it back. "Come over here. I want to talk with you more privately."

"And suddenly the ravaging Stabledweller cares what other ponies think. From what I've seen, that's new" Lasher sneered.

 

Darkeye thought for a while. "The Crystal Stable. I thought that it was out of use, that it had been abandoned. There must be something more behind this". Darkeye walked over to Slasher. "I will be going for a while. If my wife returns, tell her what happened to Dark Sun and tell her that I went to find him. Watch over the kids while I'm gone".

Thinking about this now, "Well I simply figured it would be time. Besides Ponyville keeps me busy from time to time. I just wanted to make it official." I smiled now. "I got to get back though I have been out of the loop too long from happenings in town. Don't be a stranger. I miss you you know." Feeling slightly relaxed, I left the house. I mounted Rex and left. The Pegasus followed behind but remained out of sight as per my request.

Xenith walked alone, not sure of where to go. After some time, she saw a band of ponies that looked VERY familiar. She started walking towards Elegrons group, still hidden by her stealth cloak.

Leone stared blankly into space, had the enclave really been defeated? She had doubts in her mind, there was no way in celestia that they were destroyed, at least not entirely. Snapping out of the shock she turned to Cryssi "It sounds like you are accusing me of setting you up, if I wanted you dead I would already have done the deed."

 

Elegron had then suggested a very noble and morally right action to take against the WPS, it was of course a suicide mission as Cryssi went on to elaborate on the lengths that the WPS took in their military planning and execution. "I would actually go with you, everything has their flaws no matter how perfect it may seem."

Elegron followed cryssi "so what's up? Is it what I think it is?" He asked

"you didn't abandon the white poison did you? It's just.... Something seems suspicious. I may be wrong, but at least until I know for sure... Your not allowed in stable city. I would rather you be part of the white poison and know, than to be blind about something like that. Please cryssi, be honest. Either way as it is I can't let you into stable city, and I won't treat you any differently if you are part of the white poison." Elegron said, hoping not to screw this up.

I headed through the wastes letting my thoughts wander. I knew the way to Ponyville, but figured I could take the scenic route. Rex didn't mind all that much, he kept to his own too. At first I thought I was seeing a mirage, but sure enough I noticed Elegron's group. Retrieving myself from my trance, "Look Rex, it's Elegron and some others. We could go say hi, besides I kinda miss him." He replied back with caution, 'Isn't that the ENEMY? You can get in trouble you know. I would just report his position and leave.' Smiling a little, "You need to relax Rex, I am sure we're fine. Let's go." Sighing in disbelief, 'Fine, but leave me out of it when you suffer from the Queen herself.' 

 

The pegasus on point noticed Elegron first. "Look, we need to report this to the Queen immediately! I'll watch from the clouds, you go give our report." The second pegasus promptly left carrying his vital intelligence away towards Blooddrop's home.

 

I noticed a scorpion rider approach the group with a funny-looking mare. She looked familiar but her gash distracted me. It looked fresh still, about two days old. Must be a newly trained rider. I will definitely keep watch on these events hahaha. Keeping to the sidelines, she was now within visual range of everyone in the group.

*BLAM* the Pegasus carrying the info was shot down by the same invisible equine from earlier. She saw the shadow of the other Pegasus, took aim, and fired, with expert precision. Vestal pulled out her steel quarterstaff and prepared for one of the Pegasi to get up. "For the lightbringer" she said, her voice distorted slightly by the stealth cloak. She raised her staff, and swung it at the head of the first grounded Pegasus.

I noticed the bodies of my guards fall, "Was that really necessary? I come in peace, It doesn't help your case much you know. I personally knew them as well. I guess you really are my enemy then?" 'I told you this was a bad idea!' Rex now tracking the mysterious cloaked pony. "Do I have to worry about my life too Elegron?" I asked questioningly. "I can see your reasons but death was not necessary. You could have had them incapacitated you know. Maybe the Queen was right after all?" Rex picked up the bodies and put them on his back. 'These ponies deserve a proper funeral, I will ensure that.' I looked back at Rex, "Thanks pal."

Elegron heard the commotion and rushed over "what the hell?! Who's shooting?" He had both shotguns in his telekinetic field, loaded and ready.

He looked around, only seeing rain "what... You don't even have a gun.... Not that I can see anyway" suddenly, vestal appeared in front of him "lightbringer, I am a warrior from glyph mark. Vestal, at your service" she bowed.

"Ok, well the first thing you can do is not bow. I'm not some god. Second, call me Elegron, and lastly, why did you kill her guards? They didn't do anything to anypony." He turned to the slightly pissed looking rain "sorry about that rain, I wasn't expecting this either. She won't do it again" he glared at vestal

"Uh- of course not" came her nervous reply.

[Defender of Tomorrow 323]

Leone took notice of the new pony fairly quickly along with his scorpion? "I guess you learn new things everyday.." She muttered to herself and observed the two ponies that stood close to each other, must be friends or something.

 

Two precise sniper rifle rounds went off and two pegasai fell out of the air, maybe they weren't friends? She sighed and facehoofed her helmet and abandoned reasoning with the logic behind this awkward relationship. "What's all the shooting about?" Leone came in behind Elegron, finally giving in to the desire of knowing for sure.

"Ugh you are all so stupid. Stupid zebras shooting without out question, Elegron thinking that they will obey his illogical terms and Rain here coming thinking that everything will be alright, even though she is part of the WPS. Am I the only sane one here?". 

 

Darkeye had ridden a sky chariot with a pegasus towards the Crystal Stable. "I won't be needing you, I'll walk back, go". The pegasus flew away. "This is between you and me Rave, between father and son" he growled. 

 

Scar felt a strangeness. "Something has entered the Crystal grounds, I can feel it. It has stepped into my magical barrier. It is too large to be a pony, yet, it emits Earth Pony energies from it. Strange". "It is Darkeye, my son".

After hearing what Elegron said, Cryssi broke down into tears. This hurt her on a personal level. "Why would you even say something like that? Do you not remember how you found me? Beaten, broken and next to death. Yeah, I'm really going to be allies with ponies after they do that to me, and will shoot me if I try and enter one of their cities. Is it just because I was one of them? If I was one of them, I could have killed you on that first night we spent in that cave, does that not mean anything? I though you are the pony I go to if I need help, I thought you would help. I guess I was wrong about you." Cryssi sunk her head, sat down and stated to cry much more openly. Zac providing as much comfort as he could.

"I guess all groups have their deserters." Giving Cryssi an empathetic look. "Elegron, your affiliates brand you a certain way. I am for peace between us, but rogue ponies like her," looking at Vestal now, "give you a bad name." Thinking a second, "Ponies like Vestal are certainly skilled warriors but you have to realize what they do makes everyone want to kill you. I am sure the WPS has their share of treachery, we all do, but give ponies like Cryssi a chance. Isn't it why I kinda believe in you myself. I put my own position at risk all the time because I am aware of different points of view. I do try to respect them all you know." Mounting Rex, "I have my own security to maintain you know. I can't be here for long. I have to give these ponies a proper military funeral. It's the least I could do for bringing them into my own skewed folly of a dream of peace and prosperity even for ponies like you Elegron. I would reconsider turning myself in if I were you. I can't exactly protect you from ten years of tension and fighting but a mare can hope regardless. I want this war to end just like you do. Keeping your followers in check might help. Well see you, I have my own business to take care of."

Elegron ran next to cryssi and hugged her, trying to comfort her "you know I don't mean it like that... I'll think about it. I think I'm just being paranoid with everything that's happened. It was wrong for me to accuse you, I'm sorry" he said, nuzzling her.

"I'm just stressed lately. It's hard to know who I can trust sometimes. I'm really glad to have you on my side"

 

The rest of the team that wasn't occupied bid rain farewell
