gaming Destiny Raids

Alright, everypony here will probably laugh at me for this, but here goes.

You know those times when just enjoying yourself in a friendly game, then comes one of those people who is just plain creepy. So i'm playing destiny on a raid, i waited for 3 people to come. Now it could only find two and put us in the raid, and i'm having a field day until this guy comes in to it, can't remember his name only the first part was white. Now mind you i don't get creeped out that easily, you'd have to pull it off and make it sound realistic.

WE go into the second part of the halls and this guy pulls a clown laugh from a stephen king movie. Now i'm deeply disturbed by how good this is, i have never in my gaming experience heard someone do it to flawlessly. these are mine and his reactions:

Partner: Oh ____

Me: Good lord, that was... oh my god...

Other guy is laughing it up like crazy, and i'm literally breaking down at this. Before you ask, no, i don't have a phobia of clowns. This has mentally scarred me for life and i'm in therapy to help me get over it.

That was almost just like it, but i do get disturbed by things like this, so you can't really blame for acting that way. Now during my recovery, this guy comes back and tries to apologize:

Other guy: Dude i'm so sorry, i was just jokin with ya!

Me: You are one twisted ____,  you know that?!

Partner: Sorry, got to go! *Offline*

Me: ___!!

Other Guy: Semi? are you alright dude?

Me: *Crying*

--------------------

The guy leaves and i'm trying to collect myself, that memory has me so messed up that i couldn't think anymore. I sold my copy of Destiny and never looked back and hoped the guy would go away. and guess what?:

Other guy: Semi, can i just say--

Me: No no no no... *mumbling*

Other Guy: Uhh... *offline*

Me: *screams into a pillow*

-----------------------------------------

Its that bad, i never want to see him again...

That's some confusing little story you got there. I thought it deserved a reply alike.

I'm trying to keep the swearing out, because i don't know if i'm allowed to. Of course its confusing, don't even now why the guy did that.

SemiproTeacer is my XBL gamertag, which is why he calls me Semi.

That bad, huh? I don't think you're the only one. I would always freak out in the past at times because games themselves seemed alive and dangerous when they acted weird or had errors (of course, once I'm not a kid I realize that's impossible because programming and techy stuff). I even started writing a fiction where something went wrong in a Mario game, and I think I was legitly scaring myself (even though it honestly wasn't bad at all).

I suspect it's because you were already in a scary place (the game. Not terrifying, I presume, but still), and that the laugh was so realistic and came from an unknown source. (or maybe virtual reality messes with humans in ways that are unexplainable). It does seem like an over-the-top reaction, but I do hope you get better soon. How long ago was this?

People find it funny to mess with people how people far mess with people is different to one person to another. They probably did't think they would upset any one that much  it seems they felt bad  about what they did, I would give them the benefit of the doubt but have caution they are just jerks and don't forgive them twice.

If something so benign scars you for life, you're going to have a pretty rough go of it.

You said you're seeing a therapist. Without sharing anything you're not comfortable with, can we assume this was the case beforehand?

This was before the therapist, yes.

Yeah, I experienced that too. I remember one time my friend and I were playing a game and we encountered a glitch that made trees disappear and reappear. I had little knowledge of comp sci at the time, so it really freaked me out. I restarted the game just to be safe.

This was before the therapist, yes.

In all honesty, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. I could understand being put off and maybe blocking the guy. I'm all for removing any negativity in life.

Beyond that...eh.

Anyway, I should probably mosey before I offend.

Hope you come out the other side sooner rather than later.

Lucky you never play with me, I can do some creepy ass laughs, whistles and noises

That was the only time it happened, but i got over it within the time the therapist said. I think i'm good for any future events like that.

Sorry if i'm not making any sense folks, but its just hard to explain this situation. So forgive me if i can't.

To be clear, you've nothing to apologize for.

Fault lies with me if I made you feel otherwise.

I've gotten over that now, it took 10 more months to face it and get better. Now i find myself looking back on it and laughing. Me and that guy settled things and are good friends now, though i warned him not to try that kind of thing again.
