gaming Good realistic airplane game?

As usual i am kinda bored and i am in the mood for playing a fighter airplane game but something that has an online pvp part that is alive and not empty. Also it must be realistic to a degree, i ve played the usual ms flight simulators which are very realistic so i dont want to suddenly see fighters do ridiculous things like its some fantasy world xD

 

So does anyone know any games that have those

 

Airplane fighter game

Realistic, meaning follows the rules of physics and how airplanes fly(mainly during flying)

has online ALIVE multiplayer pvp

 

Currently im downloading janes advanced strike force to see how realistic it is, and i will be using a joystic cuz its a pai to fly with the keyboard xD

The IL-2 Sturmovik series is excellent for WW2 flight simulation. Pretty active too.

I'd recommend IL-2 Sturmovik as well but if you want a free game....try YSFlight.It has an extremely tight knit community because it only has about 100 active members and looks almost dead compared to this community.The graphics aren't exactly nice either but it's fun with all the mods and multiplayer.Plus it's more of a combat simulator even though you can fly civil aircraft in it as well.

I dunno exactly how realistic it actually is but there's always Ace Combat games. I dunno if any of the newer ones have any online but none of the older ones do.

IL-2 Sturmovik would be my suggestion.

 

Everything is pretty realistic.

Though the ground and planes aren't really scaled properly, but that doesn't matter much because you're suppose to be in the sky

Eeyup, Ace Combat is fun~ I played Ace Combat 6 waaay too much, it has online but is solely for the Xbox 360.

 

I bought the newest Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, I didn't like it as much, very flashy and focused too much on eye-candy rather than skill and flight maneuvers. A lot of people called it, "Call of Duty in the sky".

I've only played Ace Combat 4 so far, gonna get 5 eventually. I liked the Dog Fight Mode in the demo for AH but I can see how it might get tiring eventually.

Ohh, yes the DFM. This really ruined the game for me, it really made the whole game very copy-paste when it came to downing enemies. When in DFM the game basically turns into a pseudo-cutscene and your aircraft automatically tails the enemy. It gets really boring and makes conventional dogfighting useless. Even the most incompetent of pilots in multiplayer can lock onto you in DFM using LB+RB and smoke you with a few missiles. Pretty disappointing mechanic, flashy, but better left in a cutscene than mandatory gameplay.

I was going to say Flight Simulator for the PC when reading the title, but then I realized you were looking for a combat game.

 

Flight Simulator is still fun AND realistic, though!

It is; in fact I tried that for half of the game because I wanted a challenge. Unfortunately I got bored again and I haven't played it since. I just find it a shame that fighting effectively relies on a single gimmick, no alternatives other than the under-powered conventional style dogfighting with missiles!

 

The graphics are impressive and you can use helicopters for the first time in the series, though there are gunner missions where you simply aim a minigun and rail shoot enemies and objectives. There is also a pair of AC-130 missions, rather unimpressive, felt too CoD-ish and gimmicky imo. I really prefer Ace Combat 6 over AH.

Well for commercial airport games I prefer the Airport Tycoon however it is not so realistic (I dont like those "fun" graphics it is too childish). There is a new game for ipad The Terminal that is more realistic with isometric view. It is a bit slow and graphics is better and more real aircontroller feeling to play.

 

I don't really like air combat games thogh... It is more fun to build and create then destroy others

It's not bad for a free simulator and you can pretty much fly anywhere around the world. It could definitely be more realistic though (if you try it you'll know what I mean), but alas, it's free so I won't complain. Skydiving with the MD 11 (i.e., land a plane a quarter mile away from the airport at 30000 feet) is a fun activity .
