He lifts his hoof and all the ponies lay down their weapons. Still, the captain didnt want to look weak.

 

"Well we are not even one thousandth of our millitary, we boast great pride in our millitaristic ways. Besides that, manybof these men dont even belong to our millitary sector, they are just volunteers in helping to expand land." indeed, only the officers had actual training, the rest of the crew were nothing but militia and volunteers sent to man the old ship.

 

"I wish to speak to your leader about mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries."

The captain replied "nice to hear! follow us up river to the palace, you will be given an audience with the queen!" he flew back down to his own ship and headed into the port and up the river, several pegasi continued flying around the Medeis ship, the pegasi on the trireme talked confusion about the lack of pegasi on board the ship, the ponies on the trireme watched the other ship

The captain shouted back his acquiescence, and the diplomatic ship started following the trireme. The crew was slightly nervous about all the pegasi flying about the ship, but drove the ship onward all the same.

The diplomatic ship was greeted by an unicorn and his bodyguards. "You are on a diplomatic mission yes? I am the manager of this port. Do you wish to see the great leader?"

"Greetings!" The unicorn captain of the ship told the port manager. "We are indeed on a diplomatic mission, and we bear a message for your great leader!" 

 

The large, heavily manned and armed vessels finally reached their destination, the small island of Eternity's Crossing. The ships landed on the island, and a large compliment of Earth Pony workers and solders landed with the ships. The solders quickly set about securing the island, while the workers began unloading the more essential supplies off the ships.

"We should receive word from him shortly. We have a quick communication network of unicorns that magically transport messages through the vast distances our great nation contains,"
the captain commented. 

 

A letter magically appeared moments later in front of the unicorn messenger behind the group. "Speaking of the speed of our communication network, here is their reply now." The message was delivered to the captain and he spent a few seconds reading it.

 

"Well it seems our Supreme Leader is unavailable at this point in time. We can however get a line through our network to allow messages to be sent. Do you wish to proceed through this method?"

"Yes, the Supreme Leader will get a message soon of your arrival. In the meantime, we have quarters for you to rest, I'm sure you have had a long trip overseas," the unicorn beckoned the entourage to follow.

"In that case, could you ask your leader if three chests of gold might 'borrow' us some of his precious time? as im afraid it'd be very hard for my to communicate only through writing."

 

As he says this, two ponies bring forth a chest and open it. It was filled with gold, silver and precious objects.

 

"And there is a lot more where that came form."

"Yes, the Supreme Leader will get a message soon of your arrival. In the meantime, we have quarters for you to rest, I'm sure you have had a long trip overseas," the unicorn beckoned the entourage to follow.

"Thank you for your generous hospitality! We appreciate it greatly, although we would much rather we meet with your great leader as soon as possible." The envoys followed the unicorn, while the ship crew remained on the ship. The unicorn envoys carried a very large chest with them in their telekinesis.

 The ship was lead up the river, they past several earth pony farmer towns, and several earth pony farmers, as they got closer to the mouth of the river, less earth ponies were seen and bigger cities became seen, filled with pegasi, until they got to the royal city, their ship was led into port, the pegasus captain landed on their ship "just wait a few minutes while the queen is told of your arrival"

Although the crew of the ship still held warm smiles, they were all stunned to see so many pegasi in one place. Most of them had never even seen pegasi before, much less this many of them. However, the shock quickly wore off as the unicorns remembered their manners. 

 

"Take as long as you need. We eagerly await our meeting with your queen!" The chief emissary replied.

A pegasus zoomed off, and a few minutes  later he came back "ok your good to go!"

 

The chief emissary was lead on to the pier and into the city, the city was magnificently build with large stone buildings and pegasi filling the sky going about their daily business, they arrived at the palace, a grandiose building shining with gold pillars and marble polished to mirror shine, they were lead up a large set of stairs leading up to a large covered court yard, a marble floor, the room only had 3 sides, being open in the front where the stairs were, in the middle of the room sat Queen Salazaria Clepto, beside her 2 unicorns were fanning her with palm leaves, the gold eye embroiled into her left eye patch was the same design on the flags and sails of her ships, the gold thread glistened 

 

"Hi there! sorry im not in more formal attire, I normally have this huge golden headdress and all, but you came on such short notice heh...so welcome to Cidonia!" the queen spoke "And where do you come from?"

"DIE!!!" The unicorn screamed, as he fired a magical laser beam from his horn directly at the queen! (Just kidding, of course. Although I wonder what would have happened had I actually done that...)

 

The unicorn quickly bowed in front of the queen. 'It is an honor to meet you in person, your majesty. I hail from the land of Medeis." Rising from his bow, he reached into his saddlebags and pulled out a roll of high quality parchment sealed with wax. "Before we began proceedings, I have been told to give you this."

​You are cordially invited to attend the grand gathering of the southern and western nations!

The leaders of many nations will be coming together to discuss terms of diplomacy, alliance, and trade at the scenic Eternity's Crossing island! Those who choose not to attend could miss out on exclusive trade agreements and beneficial alliances!

• You may send a government official you trust to make decisions for your nation instead of coming yourself.
• You are expected to bring your own security, but do not bring more then 100 solders, and do not arrive in any large war vessels. This is a gathering of peace, not war!
• Room and board of the highest quality will be provided for all who attend.
• The gathering will take place in 6 months, or when all invited leaders arrive. Those who do not arrive within 6 months will not get to take part in the proceedings.

For the first time, the emissary broke out in a real smile, rather then a one that was simply plastered on. "Your majesty, I would love to accept your generous hospitality. But first I must ask you to allow me to return to my ship so I may bring you a gift from our leader. May I?"

Salazaria nodded "Sure! Ill walk with you, id like to see your ship! I love exotic things! but still the bath and manticore race is still a viable option, Id like you to stay a while, you must of had a long trip here!" she hovered beside her, however it was on her left side which was the eye patch side, the stylized eye on the patch glittering in the light

The two pony captains' eyes opened wide open seeing the chest filled with gold and silver. Neither of them have seen that much in their entire lives. Gold and silver wasn't very common in the country, and if there were any, only upper class ponies would even be able to obtain it.

 

"Messenger, please let the Supreme Leader know of our predicament. When you get a response, please bring it to me at once." Then the Earth pony turned back to his counterpart, "I can't speak for our great leader, but we shall notify him at once."

"Ah yes, you must be in a great hurry. I shall bring you to our railroad station then. It will be the quickest way to the capital. I should have a response by the time you are on your way."

Out at sea

 

"Leader, we have received two reports of foreigners on our soil. One seems to be trying to buy your time to discuss diplomatic relations with chests of gold. Another is on a diplomatic mission to see you at the capitol for an unknown reason sir."

 

Defiant Shadow contemplated what he should do. He was at sea so the only way he could talk to them currently is by message. "Hand me those messages sailor, I need to read them myself." The sailor handed Shadow the letters and left him in solitude. 

 

So this captain wants to meet me in pony and thinks gold and silver will do the trick? Ha, I have no need for such riches. Though these foreigners on my soil building forts is unacceptable! He will need to be punished in some way. Shadow's horn glowed as a parchment and quill arose to his location. He wrote on the parchment, I will not be able to meet with you currently since I am out of the country at this time. I do however DEMAND you tear down the fort on my land. You and your men are to be accompanied by my soldiers to the outside of Stalliongrad. There you will be accommodated until I return.

 

As for the diplomats, they will get a different response. You may proceed on your journey to the capital. If it is of utmost importance you must meet me in pony, you will have to wait until I return. If you don't need to meet me, you can talk to the mayor of the city.

 

The two messages soon burnt up in flames as they were sent on their way.

A sailor on the costal war strted ringing the bell and pointing towards the horizon. The captain took out his gold-plated telescope and looked towards the sea. In the distance, about 6 hours out he could see three Ponssian ships. These were not frigates but massive proper 80-gun warships sent out to search for the lost crew. They had spotted the dismantled frigate but were in no hurry to get there. 

 

"Ah, I see they sent a search party for us after all..." the captain smiled. "I cant wait to report of our new findings."

 

He turned to the SU captain,

 

"So, is your leader interested in our offer? As i can tell the lads to bring down the rest."

"Sir! I just received a message from the Supreme Leader himself! It seems its for the foreigner sir," the messenger said as he rushed to deliver the message. The Earth Pony captain received the message and quickly read through it. "It does seem so messenger. Here you go captain. You may respond however you wish to." He handed the message to his counterpart.

 

One of the pegasi in the air shouted,"Sir! Masts have been spotted in the distance! They are not ours, but it looks like the colors of the foreigners!"

 

"It does look like you have some transportation home if you need it. I will let the Supreme Leader know in your reply."

 

Message says as follows: (So it's easier to respond to)

 

I will not be able to meet with you currently since I am out of the country at this time. I do however DEMAND you tear down the fort on my land. You and your men are to be accompanied by my soldiers to the outside of Stalliongrad. There you will be accommodated until I return.

He reads the message,

"Hmmm, fair enough.."

 

Turning to the men, he orders,

 

"Ok men, TEAR IT DOWN!"

 

"But sir... we almost finished." a sailor comments.

 

"I said tear it down"

 

"This will teach me to volunteer for naval service..." The sailor mumbled.

 

The fort was destroyed in minutes and the captain turns to the seargent.

 

"Corporal, stay here with five men to inform our friends where we are going... You lot load the gifts and gold... and change those rags... we wanna make a good impression"

 

The sailors immidiately change into fancy and clean clothes. A carriage dragged by two horses pulls by and is loaded with numerous precious and luxurious materials. The captain himself mounts a horse.

 

"Oh, this is a horse... our distant... stupid cousin..." He tells the Su soldiers. (imagine a celestia-sized thing... without a voice... ragged... stupid... and slobbering on the floor)

 

"Shall we start moving?"

The Imperial palace

 

"Your majesty..." an admiral enters the imperial office, "The ship we sent with the foreigners... it never came back."

 

The king looked at the admiral,

 

"Intriguing indeed..." He said, "I want Frigates sent out south immidiately... anything they report... it comes to me immidiately!"

 

The admiral bows,

 

"Yes, as you wish sire."

 

"And call Seahoof, i have some questions about our... Foreign guests!"

(Itsa coming! Slowly... but ITSA COMING! =p)

I know I've only been here for a short while, but I already believe your country to be one of the nicest places I've ever been to!

"We shall head out immediately. And what is that horrid looking pony thing you are riding? Never have seen them in our lands, and our lands contain many a beast," the Earth Pony said. "And messenger, please keep that letter in tip top shape. It's not everyday we get letters from the Supreme Leader himself."

 

"And we are also needing of your pegasi to ensure we reach Stalliongrad Sergeant. I'm sure you are not doing anything else  I assume," the captain said to the pegasi leader. He nodded his head and beckoned his force to join him on the march to Stalliongrad.

"Ok men, we're moving!"

 

The group follow the ponies towards the place they call Stalliongrad.

 

He turns to their 'guide'

 

"If I may ask...Is that your capital?"

@, "really? how nice of you to say" they got back to their ship and Salazaria noted the fake plastered on smiles of the crew, Salazaria leaned over and whispered in the emissary's ear "Do they always do that? its a little creepy" she said, behind them 2 unicorn servants had followed ready to help the queen with whatever she needed.

"Forgive them, your majesty, they're only trying to be friendly. If it disturbs you, I can ask them to stop." The chief emissary replied. He then signaled to one of the crew members. The crew member quickly descended into the ship, and then returned with a large chest. "In any case, here is your gift, your majesty. It is yours to keep, even if you decide not to attend the grand gathering."

 

 

 

"Ah yes, you must be in a great hurry. I shall bring you to our railroad station then. It will be the quickest way to the capital. I should have a response by the time you are on your way."

"Railroad?" The emissary replied. "I'm afraid I have no idea what a 'railroad' is."

"thats a big chest" she turns to one of her unicorns "take that with us, i just have to show you around the palace!" The unicorns grab the chest with their magic "come along every pony!" she starts walking back to the palace, all around them pegasi hover near by, some with crossbows "dont mind them" the queen continued "they are there to make sure none of you try to kill me while im not looking" she said in an oddly happy tone "which you wouldnt believe how often thats happened to me!" they got back to the palace up the stairs to the throne room again "oh its so exciting to have guests over! ok um... we will start that way!" pointing to the left at a door, on either side of the door were two earth ponies standing completely still, un moving, occasionally glancing at the group before looking forward again

"It is quite an interesting beast... Though is it faster than a train or a pegasus? If it is, it quite a benefit to us as well." These creatures were quite interesting to the ponies of the SU. Some have encountered some of the dangerous animals in the Great Forest and found them to be quite deadly.

 

"As for Stalliongrad, yes it is capital of our great country. All ponies wish to live close to the Supreme Leader in the mansions of the upper class. It is also a place where all ponies must visit once in their lives here. It is a sight to see."

"You've never heard of...a railroad? I thought trains were everywhere. Hmmmm... no matter. A railroad is a fast way of transportation around here. A trip from here to Stalliongrad by hoof would take quite a few days. Train, it will take just less than a day." 

 

A messenger arrived with a parchment and handed it to the unicorn manager. "Ah yes, we have received a response." He read over it quickly and handed it to the diplomats. "It seems the Supreme Leader wishes for you to read this."

 

Message reads:
