Okay, apparently Billy Corgan is very interested in buying TNA. But he also said, he will only take over the company if he can actually make a profit out of it and maybe even step out of the shadows of the WWE.

 

Here is the thing. We're sadly in a time right now, where Wrestling is just not profitable. Vince has survived and made profits over the years, not just for the single fact alone, that he produces a wrestling program. The WWE is a worldwide recognized trademark, ever since the 80s and eventhough we kinda say that he lost sight of what matters in wrestling (trust me, he is) he was atleast smart enough to realize, that the wrestling business is not bringing in the audience alone and breached out into the entertainment business with his reality shows and movies. Yes, they are bad. But he gets alot of money out of them.

 

I would love to see what Corgan has to offer, considering he has been a die hard fan since way back. But i just can't see him pulling away from WWE. Because no one will ever be able at this point.

Because even in defeat, Sting was still more entertaining than Lesnar is at this point. Also Sting made his opponents look good and didn't concuss multiple people.

 

 

 

 

For once I agree. It'll be better for the industry if Corgan or Sinclair buy it. But as far as rebranding goes, TNA kinda tried that w/ "Impact Wrestling", so not sure how successful a relaunch would be.

 

But hey, Georgia Championship Wrestling & Jim Crockett promotions became WCW. Eastern Championship wrestling became Extreme. So there's a chance.

They buried him on commentary and saying stuff like 'he faced no-one of significance in WCW'.

 

And Stephanie buried him saying he finally made it, gimme a break.

Yep. BFG: '08. I even remember most of the card.

 

Played a demo of the Impact video game. Opened w/ a steel Asylum match. Abyss/Morgan vs. LAX vs. Team 3D vs. Beer Money in a Monsters ball for the TNA tag belts. Had a flaming table spot and a thumbtack table spot. Although it was refereed by Mongo. No one liked that part. Booker T vs. Styles vs Christian in MOTN. Jarrett vs. Angle w/ guest ref. Foley. Sting vs. Joe for the title. Another fun fact: Bullet with butterfly wings was the theme song. 

 

And now a not so fun fact. I just remembered that I got a high five from Dixie Carter that night. This was before she was on TV. But still...

Another note on TNA. If it does go down, who will you all blame for the demise? Vince for the buy out? Dixie for the lack of oversight and poor management? Bruce Prichard for his bad booking? Russo, Hogan & Bischoff for their ludicrous ideas? Jarrett for starting something he didn't have enough money to support? Or networks like Spike & Destination America for casting them out? Or was it others in management that let premier talent like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Bobby Rhoode walk away?

I would say it's a combination of Dixie Carter not understanding what she got herself into with the wrestling business &

 

TNA shifting focus from being an alternative to WWE to "WCW Downfall Part 2". 

 

I'm also curios, Why did Jeff Jarrett get fired from TNA? Was it because of him being with Karen Angle?
